Hey, want to feel old? It’s not quite 10 years since it began airing, but it’s now been a whole decade since production began on The Walking Dead. The six-episode first season of the post-apocalyptic drama kicked off the series in style, paving the way for it to become the pop culture juggernaut that it is today over the next couple of years. To mark this important anniversary, an iconic Twd guest star is remembering the filming of the pilot episode on Twitter.
Actress Addy Miller has the honor of playing the very first zombie ever depicted in the show, the little girl – credited as Summer – who Rick Grimes encounters when he wakes up from his coma. Miller took to social media yesterday to share some behind-the-scenes pics from the pilot, including a sweet one of herself posing with Andrew Lincoln.
“10 years ago today I filmed the little role that changed my life!

In the directorial debut by Andrew Mecham and Matthew Whedon, Behind You relies on the classic haunted house trope to tell the story of two sisters, Olivia (Addy Miller) and Claire (Elizabeth Birkner), following the death of their mother, go to live with their estranged aunt, played by Jan Broberg who will be familiar to some from documentary, Abducted in Plain Sight (2017). Already armed with the knowledge that this house is no good, we don’t expect the two siblings to have much in the way of fun in their new abode.
Immediately the children are notified not to go into the basement and are, in addition warned that any strange noises in the house need no investigation on their part and are likely to be easily explained. This is where it lost me and I’m not sure it ever found me again. Within minutes of what we already...

Especially in times like this, a good fright flick can often cure what ails you. A bad one, however, can be a trying thing to sit through. Unfortunately, for a multitude of reasons, the new film Behind You is a bad one. Derivative, lacking in scares, monotonous, and just overall disappointing, it’s a real chore. Despite having some decent performances from the younger actors in the cast, almost nothing lands here. Hitting Digital this weekend, horror fans will be presented with a less than appetizing option. Unless you’re absolutely starved for a genre entry, you can do way better than this. The movie is a horror effort, playing upon the genre’s obsession with the danger that mirrors can hold. After the death of their mother, teenager Olivia (Addy Miller) and her younger sister Claire (Elizabeth Birkner) are being sent to live with their estranged Aunt. Family friend...

The Mirror Crack’d: Mecham and Whedon Wax Derivative in Debut
Bearing all the marks of a strained production is Behind You, the directorial debut of Andrew Mecham and Matthew Whedon (brother of Joss), a familiar horror exercise which can’t quite seem to vocalize an original idea anywhere in its frazzled narrative. With a tiresomely reworked script, wooden performances and cliched tropes, it’s a film which relies solely on some infrequent but inspired visuals considering its limited scope and budget.

"Mirror, mirror, open wide..." Vertical Ent. has debuted the first official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Behind You, marking the directorial debut of first-time filmmakers Andrew Mecham and Matthew Whedon. Two young sisters, sent to live with their estranged aunt, find that all the mirrors in her house are covered or hidden. When one of the sisters comes across a creepy mirror in the basement, she unknowingly releases a malicious demon that had haunted her mother and aunt years ago. The horror film stars Addy Miller, Elizabeth Birkner, Philip Brodie, Aimee-Lynn Chadwick, and Jan Broberg as the creepy aunt. This reminds me a bit of the horror films James Wan was making years ago though it doesn't seem to reinvent the wheel, only offer more of the usual supernatural scares. Check it out. Here's the first official trailer (+ promo poster) for Mecham & Whedon's Behind You, from YouTube: Two young sisters,...

We scoured the disc commentaries and Blu-ray extras on The Walking Dead season 8 release for nerdy tidbits about the show. Spoilers ahead…
This article comes from Den of Geek UK. It contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead season eight Blu-ray disc set has comparatively fewer episode commentaries than usual – just three in total, for episodes three, four, and 16, all of which feature crew and no members of the cast. Perhaps the actors were too busy this year to sit in recording booths and reminisce about on-set pranks and how hot Atlanta gets in summer. Instead, former showrunner Scott Gimple is joined by writer Matt Negrete, director Dan Liu, and new showrunner Angela Kang to talk us through episode three, "Monsters," episode four, "Some Guy," and the season finale, "Wrath."
There are also three featurettes, one in memoriam of the characters who died during the season, one commemorating the life of Carl Grimes,...

Hard to believe it's already been five years since Rick Grimes killed his first walker on "The Walking Dead" -- and wow, has that little girl sprouted up in the years since. Addy Miller played the little girl zombie from the pilot episode of the now-incredibly popular series, which aired on Halloween in 2010. Dressed in pajamas, clutching her teddy bear and missing half of her face, she was the first undead human we saw Andrew Lincoln's character shoot -- and, while it's become routine for the show five seasons in, it was quite the shock for the series' first few minutes. Since her brief, but memorable, appearance on the series, Miller has gone on to attend numerous fan conventions for the AMC series -- as well as work on films like "Dark Places" with Charlize Theron and, yes, even attended her prom. That's Addy earlier this year in the photo above,...

Do you like zombies and hate cancer? If so, then Zombie Apocalypse II “Cancer fears the D!” is an event you’d likely dig. Taking place in Detroit at the Tangent Gallery/Hastings Street Ballroom on June 28th, this event benefits the American Cancer Society via The Walking Hope. In addition to an abundance of entertainment for a good cause, fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead should be really excited by one of the items up for auction at the fundraiser.
While enjoyers of the The Walking Dead have been able to get autographs from a good amount of the cast over the past year or so at conventions, even the most die-hard fans would be hard-pressed to get an item signed by 25 people affiliated with the hit AMC show. Perhaps the most prized possession at the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse II, The Walking Hope hoodie features the signatures of...

If a Tip of the Scalpel to "The Walking Dead" came out a couple months ago, just after the mid-season finale, you guys would have certainly been like, "Atta boy, Gash; you nailed again!" and "Another Scalpel right on the money, Gash."
But right now, maybe you don't necessarily agree so much. Read on, my friends.
Believe me, Dreadies, I was right there with you on Sunday night, watching Season 4, Episode 3 thinking, "What the fuck is going on tonight?!" We have Daryl and Beth lost in the woods, Tyreese with Carol and a gaggle of children blindly following a train track toward a potential sanctuary, Glenn and Maggie blindly searching for each other, and some intriguing new characters just introduced to the television audience a week earlier; and what are we watching? Rick trapped under a bed and Carl and a new smiley Michonne digging what seems to be needlessly deeper into her back story.

The first artwork and a sneak peek of the remake of Ed Wood's all-time bad movie classic Plan 9 from Outer Space, entitled simply Plan 9, are here, and it appears to be a more serious take on the subject matter.
John Johnson directs, and Brian Krause ("Charmed"), Addy Miller ("The Walking Dead"), Conrad Brooks, Matthew Ewald, and horror personality Mr. Lobo star.
In 1959 a film was released that would live in the minds and hearts of science fiction and horror fans for years to come. That film was Edward D. Wood, Jr.'s, Plan 9 From Outer Space, a story about aliens re-animating the dead in order to kill Earth's population. Though widely regarded as one of the worst films ever made, genre audiences could not resist the exuberance and love for the art of filmmaking that showed in Wood's work. John Johnson of Darkstone Entertainment has remade the classic film.

Dread Central has been airing webisodes of Ghost Trek, a faux reality show lampooning all of the ghost hunting shows on TV today (like a Grave Encounters comedy). They began on 10/8 and now have 3 webisodes up, with a fourth coming next Monday. We recently got our hands on the press release that describes the show and links you to a featurette, trailer and an interview with some cast members from the WWE.

Trailer:
