Drew Barrymore may be the best dressed person to ride the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!
The talk show host was red carpet ready alongside her The Drew Barrymore Show correspondent Ross Mathews while arriving for work on Tuesday morning (February 20) in New York City.
Drew and Ross stepped off the Wienermobile and walked a red carpet into the studio.
Oscar Mayer announced in January 2024 that the company is looking for “hotdoggers,” people who get the yearlong opportunity to drive the Wienermobile around the country. The job pays $35,600 for the year and employees typically visit 40 cities to host popup events, logging 20,000 miles of travel.
“The title of a Hotdogger is a rare and coveted position unique to those seeking adventure and a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Oscar Mayer spokesperson Ed Roland said in press release. “Statistically speaking, more people have visited space than driven the Wienermobile! Before earning his first Oscar nomination, Paul Mescal had something more like Oscar Mayer on his mind.
The “Aftersun” star addressed an infamous 2018 commercial for Irish sausage brand Denny, admitting the resurfaced ad is “a little bit of folklore in Ireland now.”
Mescal took the role of an Irish teen who is determined to travel the world after he learns over a beans and bangers breakfast that the sons of the Denny brand founder taught people how to cure bacon around the globe.
“I trained in drama school for three years, and took it so seriously. It was like, I loved the craft of it, and then I was poor,” Mescal said during BBC Radio 4’s “Today” (via Insider). “My agent was like, ‘I don’t know how you’ll deal with this, but we’ve got a sausage advert that you can go on.’ I was like, absolutely.

The big hits of 1963 included “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Puff the Magic Dragon” and, in England anyway, a rush of hits by some next big thing called The Beatles, but in terms of sheer recall-ability, a song from that year by advertising executive Richard Trentlage might best them all. It begins, “Oh I’d love to be an Oscar Mayer weiner…” Trentlage, a former ad man with McCann-Erickson and D’Arcy who wrote the Oscar Mayer jingle, died of congestive heart failure at 87 on…...

Trentlage’s daughter Linda Bruun confirmed to the New York Times that her father passed away on Sept. 21 at a hospital in Libertyville, Illinois due to congestive heart failure. Throughout his decades-long career in advertising, Trentlage worked for agencies McCann-Erickson and D’Arcy before going on to found his own Wisconsin-based company Adver/Sonic Productions. Life is like a bunch of wieners—you never know what you're gonna get. Kraft revealed that you might have a package of cheesy weenies in your refrigerator and not even know it, and while some may see that as a fun surprise (Omg it's cheeeeese!), the company is taking necessary precautions. The popular food manufacturer recalled 96,000 (!) pounds of Oscar Mayer wieners because they may mistakenly contain cheese, according to reports. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said Sunday that Kraft's "Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners" may instead contain the company's "Classic Cheese Dogs." Again, some may not see a problem here, but those who...

According to one 105-year-old Texas woman, bacon is the key to long life. Take that, doctors and health nuts!
"I love bacon, I eat it everyday," Pearl Cantrell tells NBC affiliate Krbc. "I don't feel as old as I am, that's all I can say."
Cantrell recently celebrated her 105th birthday party with a three-day event attended by over 200 people. When Oscar Mayer found out about the elderly woman's love of bacon, the company sent a Wienermobile to her home to deliver her packages of the cured meat and to drive her around town.
A University of Zurich study recently found that while too much bacon can increase the risk of bowel cancer, not eating enough red meat can lead to early death. Congratulations to Cantrell for managing to strike the right balance in her life -- and for eating whole lot of bacon during her 105 years.

Gumby creator Art Clokey died at the age of 88 about two years ago, and now comes word that Dick Beals, who voiced the animated character, has passed away as well. He was 85 years old. Beals was the original voice of the title character on "The Gumby Show" in the late 1950s, as well as the voice of Davey in "Davey and Goliath." He also was the unseen pitchman in more than 3,000 commercials for such products as Oscar Mayer and Campbell's Soup. He often got jobs that called for him to sound like a child because he suffered from a glandular condition. His voice hadn't changed since elementary school and neither did his body. Beals was 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighed less than 70 pounds.

In his storied career, Ben Affleck has survived "Pearl Harbor," Bennifer, and "Gigli," but can he wade through the troubled waters of Weinergate?

Raabe, who played the coroner of the Munchkin Country in the 1939 musical classic, passed away on Friday at a medical facility in Orange Park, Florida.
The veteran star was admitted to hospital after reportedly collapsing at his retirement home.
Raabe was plucked from obscurity at the age of 23 to play the famous role in The Wizard of Oz, which saw him declare the the Wicked Witch of the East "really most sincerely dead".
After his appearance in the movie, he served in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II and worked as a spokesperson for American food company Oscar Mayer.
He also published a notable autobiography, titled Memories of a Munchkin: An Illustrated Walk Down the Yellow Brick Road, and appeared at numerous Wizard of Oz conventions.

We all may be able to sing along with "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz..'' and "If I had an Oscar Mayer weiner ...," but as last Wednesday's episode of Fox's "Glee" demonstrated, you don't need an original jingle to use music in a TV ad -- an existing song will do just fine.

Car companies often go with rock and roll to appeal to the male audience, such as Jaguar making use of Sting's "Desert Rose," Cadillac trying to revamp its image with Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll," and Dodge pushing trucks with help from Aerosmith's "Just Push Play."

Just a few days after Dancing with the Stars favorites Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff split up, he was in the middle of Times Square, talking about the type of girlfriend he's looking for. "I'm a pretty low-maintenance kind of guy," Lopez, 34, told People Tuesday – as he was wearing a "Kiss the Cook!" apron and doing his own grilling (of hot dogs), as part of Oscar Mayer's 125th anniversary celebration to help raise money for the food bank Second Harvest. "I'd like to be with someone who is secure with themselves. She has to understand that I have a...
