Greek non-profit creative incubator Oxbelly has revealed the participants of its 2023 retreat for writers in episodic, fiction and poetry.
Founded by producer and Faliro House founder Christos V. Konstantakopoulos, Oxbelly is known for its screenwriters and directors labs — which run under the artistic direction of Athina Rachel Tsangari — and draws a number of international filmmakers every summer to Greece. Past participating mentors include Maren Ade, Michael Almereyda, Paul Thomas Anderson, Willem Dafoe, Dee Rees and Lulu Wang.
Advisors for the 2023 program include Barry Jenkins, Rebecca Makkai, Nadifa Mohamed, Sue Naegle, Fiammetta Rocco, Anuradha Roy, Vera Santamaria, Anna Winger, Jörg Winger, Lulu Wang, Graham Yost and Tsangari.

Elisa Mishto’s first full-length fiction film puts forth an impenetrable universe and character, whom we’re suddenly able to relate to thanks to a skilful sleight of hand. The line-up for this year’s Alice In The City (Alice nella Citta) – the sidebar dedicated to younger generations at Rome Film Festival (Oct 13-23) – has been revealed.
Now in its 14th edition, the event will present a total of 42 titles across five programmes.
The Competition Young/Adult programme will screen films including Matt Ross’s Captain Fantastic, which premiered in Cannes, Taika Waitit’s Hunt For The Wilderpeople, New Zealand’s highest-grossing local film, and Travis Knight’s Kubo And The Two Strings. A 27-strong jury aged 14-18 will select a winner from the 12-strong line-up.
