Spoiler Alert: This recap contains major reveals from tonight’s American Horror Story season 9 finale “Ahs 1984: Final Girl”
Tonight’s season 9 finale of Ahs 1984 didn’t end like your run-of-the-mill ’80s slasher movie. There was no protag looking over their shoulder, worried the killer was still out there. There wasn’t a bad dream that the slayer was still alive. Instead, we end on syrupy note, literally Mike + the Mechanics’ Living Years, as we see the son of the father, completely cleaned of papa’s sins. And Billy Idol is a no-show, at least on the show which has served up singers playing themselves in the past, i.e. Stevie Nicks in Ahs: Coven.
In Final Girl, written by Crystal Liu and directed by John Gray, we meet Bobby Richter, played by Ahs troupe member Finn Wittrock. But instead of Wittrock playing a loose cannon, clown-obsessed rich brat like...

American Horror Story: 1984 Episode 8
The action at Camp Redwood has jumped forward in time to 1989, and it shows both in character actions and in character motivations. That's a big milestone; the change-over from one decade to another always seems like a big deal to people, and in a lot of ways to the characters on American Horror Story: 1984, the end of the Reagan era is also the end of their era of relevance. It's been a common retrain in the later portions of the season. Their time is ending, and they'll all soon be forgotten, but never is it more explicitly stated than in this week's episode, with multiple people eulogizing the good and ill of Reagan's America in long rhapsodies.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Rest in Pieces,” the eighth episode of “American Horror Story: 1984.”
It’s almost time for the big finish on “American Horror Story” Season 9. The penultimate episode of the “1984” season, entitled “Rest in Pieces,” started on the day before Halloween, 1989, and saw a return to Camp Redwood for all of the key players.
Sitting in a diner, Brooke (Emma Roberts) vowed to Donna (Angelica Ross) that she was going to kill Margaret (Leslie Grossman) before she runs off to start a new life. But because they were talking about such dark things in a public place, it didn’t take long for a motor-mouth reporter named Stacy to wander up to them. At first she just wanted to complain about how awful their time period is, ranting about “Iran-Contra, the TV show ‘Small Wonder’ and crack.” But she obviously...

The insanity continued on American Horror Story Season 9 Episode 7 as two fan-favorite actors from previous seasons made their triumphant returns.
We already knew Dylan McDermott was staging a comeback, but Lily Rabe's return was kept well under wraps.
Rabe played the mother of Mr. Jingles, who worked as a cook at Camp Redwood back in 1948. The biggest surprise here was that the camp existed way back when, but it went under another name.
In a flashback to that time period, we learned that Benjamin was supposed to be looking after his younger brother Bobby when disaster struck.
Bobby got caught in the engine of a motorboat while Benjamin was busy staring from afar at the camp lifeguard having sex with a girl in the woods.
Benjamin's mother flipped out, blaming every single person at the camp -- including Benjamin. It was clear from the get-go she hated Benjamin because...

Wednesday’s American Horror Story welcomed back two popular players from previous seasons, though no one in 1984 was particularly happy to see them.
The episode began with a look back at Jingles’ childhood trauma. In the summer of 1948, Benjamin Richter was just a chubby youngster at Camp Golden Star, where his mom (special guest star Lily Rabe!) worked as the camp’s miserable head cook. When she wasn’t feeding hungry campers, she was berating poor Benjamin for his antisocial tendencies.

[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for “Stranger Things 3.”]
One of the defining moments of “Stranger Things 3” arrives in the finale (“The Battle of Starcourt”) when Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) is forced to sing the theme song to “The NeverEnding Story” with his long distance girlfriend Suzie (Gabriella Pizzolo). Dustin goes along with the request in order to get Suzie to give him a numerical code that will help in the battle against the Mind Flayer. Dustin and Suzie sing the song over a walkie talkie that nearly all of the major characters are listening in on. The moment is a surprise comical break to all the insane monster-smashing action in the final episode of the season, but it’s one that almost never happened.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer reveal they went through different versions of the scene using various musical choices. “At one point they were going to sing...
