The new ESPN+ original series Man in the Arena: Tom Brady — the star quarterback’s firsthand account of Super Bowl appearances over two decades — debuts Tues. Nov.16 with new episodes posting weekly.
Directed by Religion of Sports’ Gotham Chopra, the series features Brady and others from his life and career deconstructing milestones of his legendary NFL career, mining the psychological and emotional terrain of victory and defeat. Each episode focuses on a single Super Bowl appearance, beginning with Super Bowl Xxxvi, the season Brady took over as quarterback for the New England Patriots after star Drew Bledsoe suffered an injury.
The docuseries is co-produced by ESPN, Religion of Sports, 199 Productions, and NFL Films
Episodes depict not just pivotal moments but the series of small steps that seem insignificant at the time, but, when reflected upon, show the distance traveled. “Man in the Arena is more than a series of career highlights,...

Brady (12) gives instructions to Vereen (34), Amendola (80) and Boyce (82) at Patriots training camp last week.

The off-season in the NFL produces two of the biggest events in the NFL’s year-round traditions: the NFL draft, and free agency. With both events, teams capitalize on improving their teams significantly, whether this be through rookies or veterans. In the case of these veterans, free agency is the time to score the contract one has always wanted, signing on the dotted line to receive millions upon millions in guaranteed money.
Are all these contracts worth it in the end? Of course not (see: Laurent Robinson)! However, teams thrive off taking the chance on some of the most notable names in the NFL today, and risk an absurd amount of money a lot of the time to get these behemoth’s to join their squad.
So far this off-season, many players have abandoned ship and switched to another team entirely. We now have men such as Paul Kruger going...

If you're going to lose, there are two routes. You could be dignified about it or you can go on the attack. One of those tends to work out better than the other. No one told Anna Burns Welker that, though.
Or maybe she just didn't listen? The 2005 Miss Hooters pageant winner, which is evidently a thing, and wife of New England Patriots linebacker Wes Welker, wasn't pleased when her husband's failed to win the Afc Championship game, losing to the Baltimore Ravens.
She decided the best way to vent her frustration was through Facebook, posting a status update to her profile. There are several very effective ways to broadcast your disappointment with the end of a game. You could ridicule the officiating, belittle the other team or, even do as Gisele Bundchen did at last year's Super Bowl and mock your husband's own team for not carrying their weight.

Chicago – “Madden NFL 13” opens with a rousing monologue from everyone’s favorite justice-obstructing Ravens linebacker, Ray Lewis. Sitting in a dimly lit and smokey locker room, he extols the virtue of hard work, tenacity, and pride, as images from the prior NFL season are projected on the lockers before seamlessly transforming into footage from the game, highlighting its shiny new physics engine.
Video Game Rating: 4.0/5.0
For all it’s celebrated success, “Madden” has almost always been devoid of personality, and in this case, borrowed some of Ray Lewis’s for this grand opening sequence. However, the journey of this EA Sports cash cow has always been one of functionality, not poetry. Ever since buying out the competition with an exclusive NFL license that practically guarantees they get to create and release these games in a competition-less vacuum, the capitalist intentions of this venerable football franchise have preceded everything else. This year,...

Welcome to the first installment of the NFL Cream Of The Crop. Each week, myself and fellow We Got This Covered writer, Lester Wiltfong will take a look at who we think are the best and worst NFL teams of the week.
We will alternate each week starting with me looking at the top three and Lester picking the bottom three.
So, as we head into the first week of the 2012 NFL season, here’s my top three teams, starting with:
1. New England Patriots
I will go out on a limb and predict that the Patriots will win the Super bowl this season. I think Tom Brady and company will avenge their loss to the Giants in last year’s finale and take the Lombardi trophy back to New England.
Tom Brady must still be considered one of the league’s best quarterbacks and head coach Bill Belichick is also...

Every year EA Sports releases their latest version of the popular Madden video game franchise. Along with the games release comes the always exciting regular season simulation. The Madden NFL 13 predictions were recently released and there is a familiar face atop the Afc, but the Nfc top seed may surprise you.
The perennial Super Bowl contending New England (N.E.) Patriots finished 12-4 to claim the top seed in the Afc. They were led by their quarterback Tom Brady, who they predict to win the league Mvp. Brady threw for a simulated 50 touchdowns and 5374 passing yards. Other N.E. standouts were wide out Wes Welker who snagged in 111 receptions, 1430 receiving yards, and 7 TDs. Tight end Rob Gronkowski was simulated for a total of 82 catches, 1188 receiving yards, and 13 TDs and Kyle Arrington, their 5th year corner back finished with 5 simulated interceptions.
Over on the Nfc side of things, they had the...

The San Diego Padres drafted a kind of random college quarterback, Toledo's Terrance Owens, with their final selection in the recent Mlb draft - even though Owens isn't a baseball player. Owens hasn't played the sport since his first year of high school, in fact.
He told the Padres thanks, but no thanks, but it got my mind spinning. Great American athletes are not flocking to the game of baseball like they have in the past. African Americans in particular are abandoning baseball at a young age in favor of basketball and football, and the number of blacks in baseball has plunged to post-integration lows.
But I've always fantasized (and I mean that entirely non-sexually) about how awesome it would have been to see Allen Iverson on a ball diamond (he was a hell of a high school Qb an Db on the gridiron), and I've always thought that if Michael Vick weren't left-handed,...

Tom Brady posed for a picture with his New England Patriots teammate Wes Welker at the 138th annual Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Ky, on Saturday. Tom skipped the traditional hat, but was still looking sharp in his white pants and black tie. It was Tom's second year in a row at the event, and he joined fellow celebrities including Ashton Kutcher and Ginnifer Goodwin. Kellan Lutz brought his girlfriend Sharni Vinson to check out the festivities. It's always a popular event, and to celebrate we took a look back at all the stars at the Kentucky Derby over the years. Tom's time in Kentucky was brief, though, since he popped up at a party in NYC with wife Gisele Bundchen later that night. View Slideshow ›...

HollywoodNews.com: Although Gisele Bundchen made some strong comments about Tom Brady’s Patriots’ teammates not catching passes during the Super Bowl, it seems everyone involved has put it behind them.
Bundchen and Brady are now spending some time in Costa Rica vacationing with his teammate Wes Welker and his fiancee, Anna Burns, states UsMagazine.com. Welker was one of the players who didn’t catch Brady’s pass during the Super Bowl.
The two are reportedly vacationing there with their son and their friends.

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady hit the beach with their son Benjamin in Costa Rica over the weekend. Tom and a bikini-clad Gisele shared sweet kisses and played with Ben in the sand. They were also joined by Tom's Patriots teammate Wes Welker and his fiancée. The getaway coincides with their third wedding anniversary and is also good timing: they're unwinding after a difficult Super Bowl loss, the subsequent press about her postgame comments, and New York Fashion Week. Gisele walked in the Alexander Wang show at Nyfw, while Tom has been taking a break from the spotlight after football season. Gisele sported a skimpy bikini with Benjamin on the beach, though so far Tom has skipped out on the shirtless fun. Costa Rica is where Tom and Gisele tied the knot back in 2009, and since then they've enjoyed many a tropical vacation there together as a family. This time last year,...
