The film follows newlyweds Adam (Pico Alexander) and Sarah (Maria Bakalova), who are about to embark on the romantic honeymoon of a lifetime in Venice, Italy. The movie has been scheduled to release theatrically and on demand on March 26.

Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has acquired North American rights to The 24th, a period drama based on true events from Oscar-winning BlacKkKlansman co-writer Kevin Willmott. The pic, which was slated to premiere at SXSW before the festival was shut down in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, will now get a VOD/digital release on August 21.
Willmott produced, directed and co-wrote the script with Empire alum Trai Byers, who stars alongside Bashir Salahuddin and Aja Naomi King. Jordan Fudge, Alexandra Milchan, Willmott and Byers are producers. The 24th was fully financed by Fudge’s New Slate Ventures, which produced with Emjag.
The release date is significant, timed to the anniversary of the Houston Riot of 1917, the heart of the movie’s story. Set in the early months of World War I, it recounts how 156 soldiers of the Third Battalion of the all-Black 24th Infantry Regiment rioted after clashing with the Houston Police Department.

Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has secured the U.S. distribution rights to Can You Keep a Secret?, the romantic comedy starring Alexandra Daddario, and slated it for a day-and-date release September 13. Daddario also served as an executive producer on the project, which is based on the Nyt best-selling novel by Sophie Kinsella. The Elise Duran-directed film also stars Tyler Hoechlin, Kimiko Glenn, and Laverne Cox
Here’s the plot: On the way home from a botched client meeting, Emma (Daddario) mistakenly reveals all her deepest secrets to a handsome stranger sitting next to her when her plane hits turbulence. Vertical Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Miss Virginia, which stars Orange Is the New Black Emmy winner Uzo Aduba in a drama inspired by a true story of a struggling inner-city mother who sacrifices everything to give her son a good education. R.J. Daniel Hanna directed the pic written by Erin O’Connor, and Matthew Modine, Aunjanue Ellis and Vanessa Williams also star. Vertical has set an October 18 day-and-date theatrical and VOD release. The deal was negotiated by Josh Spector at Vertical and Stacey Parks and Rob Pfaltzgraff on behalf of the Moving Picture Institute, which produced.
