Back in October 2013, we got some test footage that showed a facially mo-capped Pikachu in a detective hat that spoke Japanese. Understandably, a lot of people weren’t sure what to make of this strange clip. But now? Well, we’re about to see Detective Pikachu hit theaters and it’s looking to lead the charge for a media juggernaut that may well spawn its own Pokémon Cinematic Universe.
It’s also set to feature more of those loveable creatures than you can shake a Pokéball at, and one of the Pokémon who we know we’ll definitely be seeing is Lickitung, as a previous trailer has already given us our first look at him. But it seems that Detective Pikachu isn’t the only place you can find Lickitung these days, as he’s also now been thrown into Resident Evil 2 via a clever mod that you can check...

"Game of Hyrule" is a Legend of Zelda fan film unlike any other Legend of Zelda fan film you've seen before. That's because it's done in the dark, hard core style of HBO's Game of Thrones, but it also has a comedic parody vibe to it. The short comes to us from Megasteakman, and it was written, directed, and produced by Kial Natale. It's a decently made fan film that turned out to be amusingly fun. Here's the story description that came with the film:
Wisdom. Power. Courage. Corruption. Experience the Legend of Zelda as you've never seen it before in this live-action, morally-grey fan-film mashup with Game of Thrones. The Hyrule Kingdom is on the edge of ruin from years of warfare against the Gerudo, but a cruel deal has been set in motion that will change the course of history forever.

The web went into a frenzy earlier this week when the first look at Ben Affleck in Batman vs Superman debuted. The stark monochrome image didn't give too much away, except for the fact that Affleck appears to have the required chin for the job and he's got one helluva sweet ride.
However, Batfleck's big unveiling did kickstart a Keanu-inspired 'Sad Batman' meme - a set of scenarios with the Dark Knight in various stages of despair. Here are some of the best ones, and if you want more then #SadBatman on Twitter is there to help.

Fantasy web series just leveled up thanks to Girls with Swords. Directed by Kial Natale (aka Megasteakman of Pokémon Apokélypse viral video fame), Girls with Swords is a new fantasty, action-packed series offering viewers a little bit of everything. It's a wildly imaginative addition to the genre of gaming web series, combining elements of anime, retro RPGs, and tabletop humor. The series offers everything a geek could want in a live-action offering. Plus, of course, there are girls with swords. While the project started innocently enough as a small short designed to use a low-budget costuming aesthetic with professional art-design (including some fantastic papercraft) and filmmaking, it has transformed into a nearly all CGI show with epic characters, novel environments, and monsters with an Achilles' heel for sharp objects. The premiere episode of that show launched on the Megasteakman channel earlier this month. Game of Bones is a pilot for...

Thanks to the Internet, it’s now totally possible to see hilariously entertaining fan-made takes on popular movies with minimal effort, and today we’ve got three new ones to share with you. First up, Lee Hardcastle brings us a stop-motion claymation take on the newest Die Hard flick, A Good Day to Die Hard. Hardcastle has been doing this for a long time, and has an entry in the horror anthology film The ABCs of Death. His latest finds John McClay doing what he does best – blowing things up and capping bad guys. You can watch it below. We really liked Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph when it played in theaters last year. The film is essentially an animated love letter to classic video games, but filmmaker Kial Natale thought it would be interesting to reimagine...

Wreck-It Ralph was a pretty awesome movie, and Kial Natale liked it so much that she went out and made a live-action short that tells the whole story in 60-seconds! I love how this turned out, it's very well made, and it should put a big smile on your face. There was a lot of work put into this. The short is another entry in the Virgin Radio Fake Film Festival. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. To vote for it click here.

Frankly, I've always wanted to see live-action actors do at least one scene from any given animated film they've provided voicework for in the past. When it comes to Wreck-It Ralph, co-star Jane Lynch came close with this cool cosplay as her character Sergeant Tamora Calhoun. But instead of actually seeing John C. Reilly in some overalls and big hair, some young filmmakers have crafted a 60-second live-action recreation of the entire film. There's some impressive effects work for this small production that was made as part of Virgin Radio Fake Film Festival, a Vancouver event where filmmakers just make 60-second versions of their favorite films. You can check out more right here, but see this Wreck-It Ralph video below! Here's the 60-second live-action version of Wreck-It Ralph directed by Kial Natale (via SlashFilm): The bad-guy character Ralph, in the classic game Fix-It Felix Jr., who longs to be...

Kial Natale and Dylan Innes have done an incredible job in creating an hommage to Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. The minute-long video titled Scott Pilgrim Vs 60 Seconds was made for the Virgin Radio Fake Film Festival contest and the results are so good that they earned the approval of director Edgar Wright himself. Watch the video after the break. Enjoy!

Last week I firmly believed that the world had gone mad. Stories began popping up on film news websites everywhere that a leaked trailer for a live action Pokémon movie entitled Pokémon Apokélypse film had hit the web, some began questioning it’s authenticity, but not one site (that I read) was comfortable discounting the trailer altogether. If you saw the shaky mobile footage doing the rounds, you’d realise straight off that this was fan made. Clearly this was a fan-made film, or at best a trailer to promote another game, and yet the Pokemon movie rumours continued.
Well now we have the full, HD version of the trailer and it’s safe to say that this is definitely a fan-made movie. Shogun Gamer interviewed the makers of the clip, and here’s what they had to say:
Corey Rollins: First off, this trailer has exceptional production value for a fan-fiction piece.
