Before I write another word about Johny Hendricks, I have a confession to make.
I am biased.
I am an Oklahoma State alumnus, born and raised in beautiful Stillwater, Oklahoma. At the dinner table each night as a young Lucky, we thanked God for Henry Iba, Eddie Sutton, and the entire Smith wrestling dynasty (LeRoy, John, Pat, & Mark) with their 7 national championships and 2 Olympic gold medals. I take great pride in the 34 national champions and 134 individual Ncaa championships of my school and alma mater. And our Johny is part of that bedrock.
When I see a Cowboy wrestler with a freaking spitter on stage at a Ufc presss conference, rocking an epic beard, and his easy going folksy accent, I know that’s my guy. That’s a Good Ole Boy. Now with all of that being said, I can objectively and emphatically state:
Johny Hendricks Is Getting Screwed

Georges St-Pierre (22-2) returns to the octagon after a lay-off of 567 days to face the interim champion, Carlos Condit (28-5), at Ufc 154 in Montreal, Canada. Despite already establishing himself as the best welterweight on the planet, this fight will be the biggest and most difficult of his distinguished career. More important than his treble with Matt Hughes. More important than his battles with Bj Penn.
And the reason for that is simple. This fight more than any other will define Gsp’s place in history.
The Challenger – Carlos Condit
Carlos Condit came into the Ufc via the acquired Wec, where he ran rampant over mainly 2nd tier competition en route to a Wec welterweight belt with three title defenses. After transitioning to the Ufc with a close split decision loss to Martin Kampmann (14-2) at Ufc Fight Night, Condit recovered impressively with a 5-fight win streak.
And not just a win streak.

November 17th, this Saturday, Gsp is back! As the promo said, this might be the most anticipated return in Ufc history. It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen Georges St. Pierre in the octagon. The last time we saw him he didn’t go out on a high note. In his fight with Shields, both men didn’t look like they wanted to be in the octagon. So as a result we recieved a very lackluster fight that nearly ruined an extremely exciting card. Many fans, or I should say internet fans, were not anticipated for anymore Gsp fights. Some went as far as to boycott Gsp. Well, their wish was granted when it was announced Gsp had severely injured his Acl.
It’s been a year since Gsp was injured and in his absence a group of new contenders have emerged. Originally Nick Diaz was...

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (Ufc) has been busy thinning the heard this week.
MMAMania has reported that the organization announced that it has released five mixed martial artists from its roster. The chopping block is highlighted by the departure of welterweight Charlie Brenneman and Japanese featherweight Michihiro Omigawa, both of which have figured prominently on the Ufc’s main cards in recent years. Unfortunately, their recent losing skids have forced the decisionmakers over at head office to part ways with the fighters.
The Ufc also gave Eiji Mitsuko, Tommy Hayden, and Walel Watson their walking papers. All three have fallen on rough times recently and likely saw the move coming.
The organization has not embarked on a roster slimming in quite some time and this move may be a sign of things to come. Ufc President Dana White has always emphasized the fact that fighters on his roster need to...

I'm not violent. The very idea of being punched makes me urinate. But even as someone who would sooner make love than war, I can accept that there is very little in life that is more exciting to watch than a decent fight. I'm not talking drunken louts rolling around in the street, posturing for the best position to fire in a bout-ending nut-punch, outside of a dreary pub. And while I'm partial to a well choreographed cine-scrap, that's not really what I'm talking about here either.
I like real fighting, as fought by skilled professionals. That's why I like Mixed Martial Arts (Mma) as a sport and Ultimate Fighting Championship (Ufc) as the biggest and arguably best Mma organisation. I've written about...
