Eagle-eyed viewers of last night’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance noticed a brief audience shot at the end of the show featuring several alumni from past seasons. I personally caught a glimpse of season 5′s Kayla Radomski, season 6′s Kathryn McCormick, and season 7′s Robert Roldan and Kent Boyd, who miraculously still has not been fed past midnight and transformed into a gremlin. And, oh yeah, I also saw Alex Freaking Wong.
Alex, you may recall, is the supernaturally talented contestant from season 7 who occupies two of EW’s Top 5 Sytycd routines of all time, including the No.

Tonight is the season eight premiere of So You Think You Can Dance. And if you believe the commercials, the talent is better than ever before. Given the quality of dancers last season and the prior years, we do find that a little hard to believe. But knowing what a great vehicle the show is to expose these otherwise unknowns to millions of fans, it only makes sense that the b-boys, tappers, krumpers and ballerinas are crawling out of the woodwork to get on the show. So while we wait to see how this year's dancers measure up, here's a list of our favorite Sytycd routines to date.

In season five, the runner-up from season two, Travis Wall, returned to Sytycd to make his debut as a choreographer.

On the final "So You Think You Can Dance" 5th season show, I wasn't able to catch the first hour as I was rapped up in the "Big Brother" 11 eviction night. I can say that it was mostly dancers from this season coming back to perform their best routines over again. When I caught up to it in the final hour, Kayla and Jason performed a special routine. Then the top 4 dancers were welcomed to the stage for the results Kayla Radomski was revealed to be in fourth place. They only revealed her results at that point. So the other three were left still wondering if they would be America's best dancer for season 5.

So You Think You Can Dance held its final performance episode Wednesday at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, where the four remaining dancers performed in front of thousands of screaming fans. Kayla Radomski, Brandon Bryant, Jeanine Mason and Evan Kasprzak put nerves aside to dance in pairs, solos and groups. "This is the first time we've come to the Kodak Theatre. I don't think little Evan did. I love him to death but he is a character dancer that is only really for me established one character." Two dancers had to leave the "So You Think You Can Dance" floor on Thursday, July 30 night, leaving only four to compete for the title. Ade Obayomi and Melissa Sandvig were eliminated in the eighth week after taking the lowest votes from the judges as well as American audience.
The four finalists thus are Kayla Radomski, Brandon Bryant, Jeanine Mason and Evan Kasprzak. Jeanine was the first to get the ticket to the finale. Thus, Kayla had to fight for her position against Melissa on the solo pieces before she advanced.
Another deliberation revealed that Brandon was through to the finale. Evan and Ade reprised their Wednesday solos but only Evan managed to pass the judges' vote to join Brandon, Jeanine and Kayla in the Top 4. Next week, two will be eliminated, one becomes a runner-up and the ultimate winner will be crowned.

The remaining 6 people of "So You Think You Can Dance" were fighting for their survival on Wednesday, July 29. Jeanine Mason, Ade Obayomi, Melissa Sandvig, Evan Kasprzak, Kayla Radomski and Brandon Bryant performed three types of dance: group, pair and solo.
First up was the Top 3 boys group routine choreographed by Sonya Tayeh. It was described as "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and Evan got the praise from guest judge Lil C for not being swallowed in between Ade and Brandon.
The show continued with the first duo of the night, Jeanine and Ade, doing samba choreographed by Louis Van Amstel. The judges generally disliked the routine which was supposed to be sexy and hot. Mary Murphy pointed out that the samba roll failed and it felt novice.

'So You Think You Can Dance' celebrated its 100th episode with a highly-anticipated performance by Katie Holmes and blasts from seasons past, including three Emmy-winning numbers, but it wasn't all fun and happy memories. "So You Think You Can Dance" reached a milestone on Thursday, July 23 with the 100th episode celebration. Katie Holmes appeared as a special guest, paying tribute to Judy Garland by singing and performing "Get Happy". But on top of all the festivity, two dancers have to end their journey.
The special episode started with a Broadway number of "One" from "A Chorus Line". The show then cut the chase and announced which dancers were in the bottom two. In the women side, Janette Manrara was in the bottom two along with judges favorite Kayla Radomski. In the men side, Jason Glover was in the bottom two along with another favorite, Brandon Bryant.
Before the deliberation of who go home, Holmes gave the highly-anticipated performance. Nigel Lythgoe, whose birthday happened to be on that night, told the viewers that Garland's son Joey Luft was among the audience.

On Wednesday, July 22, "So You Think You Can Dance" was visited by a special guest judge who knows little of the dancing techniques but adds a fresh perspective in the art of performing. Ellen DeGeneres, who has been raving about her appearance on the dance show through her Twitter, sat on the judging panel to give comments on the performances of the Top 8.
After reaching the Top 10 stage, the remaining contestants are paired at random. But they got the chance to also dance in the large group and display their solo piece after the pair dancing. The show opener on Wednesday saw former contestant Travis Wall choreographing the group dance which Nigel Lythgoe described as "Very Lady GaGa".
The first couple of the night was Evan Kasprzak and Janette Manrara who danced Jazz. The judges wanted more from Evan, reasoning that he was not rough and 'oomph' enough to balance his partner.

Usually, by this point in the season of "So You Think You Can Dance," there are at least two very clear favorites and then a few dark-horse dancers waiting in the wings. As far as I can remember, past winners Nick Lazzarini, Joshua Allen, Benji Schwimmer and Sabra Johnson won our hearts immediately with their surprisingly wide range of talent and adorable personalities. But when the top 10 performed this week, I was still absolutely stumped about who will win the title of "America's Favorite Dancer."
On the other hand, I can't be the only one who knew Hawaiian heartthrob Kupono Aweau and perky cutie Randi Evans were not long for this competition. Kupono's looks aside, he just doesn't match up in physical strength (witness the way he struggled through his lifts in this week's paso doble), and as Nigel Lythgoe said a few weeks ago, he...
Usually, by this point in the season of "So You Think You Can Dance," there are at least two very clear favorites and then a few dark-horse dancers waiting in the wings. Newly coupled dancers, Karla Garcia and Vitolio Jeune, have to swallow bitter pills of elimination when the judges of "So You Think You Can Dance" decided that it was time for them to go. Karla and Vitolio were in the bottom three along with the couples Kayla Radomski-Kupono Aweau and Jeanine Mason-Phillip Chbeeb.
During the solo effort to get a second chance, Karla danced to 'Blackbird' by Dionne Farris but Head Judge Nigel Lythgoe said the Jazz/Contemporary dancer did not ooze the star quality that they thought she possessed at the beginning. Meanwhile, Vitolio did a routine to "Here Comes Goodbye" by Rascal Flatts. Nigel said the Contemporary dancer offered nothing but his presence.
Karla and Vitolio danced the quickstep on the performance night, a routine which was choreographed by Jean-Marc Genereux. They became a dancing couple after their respective partners, Jonathan Platero and Asuka Kondoh,...

Two more dancers take the fall on "So You Think You Can Dance" when the judges dropped the axe on Thursday, June 18. Latin ballroom dancer Max Kapitannikov and contemporary dancer Ashley Valerio, two contestants who did not start as a couple, must go home to leave 16 in competition.
Max partnered with Jazz/contemporary dancer Kayla Radomski on Wednesday performance night, doing a pop-jazz routine which was choreographed by Brian Friedman. Meanwhile, Ashley did a Hip-Hop style choreographed by Shane Sparks with her contemporary dancer partner, Kupono Aweau.
Another couple in the bottom three was Caitlin and Jason. But both impressed the judges individually on the solo routine and were declared safe. Nigel Lythgoe said the judges were not unanimous like last week in deciding who should go home. Nigel thought Ashley's solo was lacking on "substance" although she was looking hot. For Max, Nigel said the dancer had a...

Full disclosure: I'm a rabid So You Think You Can Dance fan. Every summer for the past four years the talent on display on this show simply blows every other reality competition out of the water. So much so, that one can even overlook the nagging, hetero-cheerleading presence of producer Nigel Lythgoe on the judging panel.
Nigel's peculiar obsession with the masculinity of male dancers aside, Sytycd raises your standards when it comes to dance. I mean, once you start watching this show it is awfully hard to sit through an episode of Dancing with the Stars.
Sytycd is now in its fifth season, and every year we wonder if they can assemble dancers talented enough to stack up against previous season standouts such as Travis Wall, Danny Tidwell, Neil Haskell, and a host of others.
Well, last week the show announced its finalists for the new season, and the...
