Zack Snyder.
Australian filmmaker Peter Carstairs only started working in commercials a few years ago. He works at Mr Smith (mrsmith.tv), a production company based in Melbourne.
He first heard about Crash the Super Bowl when Tom Noakes, a fellow Australian, cracked the final five in 2014 with his spot 'Finger Cleaner'.
"I've been tracking it ever since", Carstairs said.
The filmmaker calls the Super Bowl the "most-watched TV event on the planet".
Back in 2006, Doritos decided to buy airtime but invite submissions instead of producing their own spot - the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl was born.
Initially only for Americans, the contest is now open to most of the rest of the world. There's been an Australian in in the finals every year since they've been eligible..
This year's winner will have their ad screened at the game, receive a residency with Warner Bros and Zack Snyder - plus a cool $1 million Usd.

Sticky orange fingers the inspiration for commercial that has racked up 2m views on YouTube
An Australian film-maker will be a keen spectator at the Us Super Bowl – but it will be the half-time break rather than the sport that will keep him on tenterhooks. It could make him Us$1 million (A$1.1 million) richer.
Thomas Noakes's entry into the Doritos Crash the SuperBowl competition to make a commercial for the chip brand has put him firmly in the running for the cash prize, and has racked up nearly two million views on YouTube.
Noakes will not know until the chosen ad airs midway through the gridiron showpiece on February 2 whether he has won.
He has come up with a unique, if slightly off-putting, take on the Doritos side-effect: sticky orange fingers.
"It's silly, really. We just thought of a machine that cleans fingers," Noakes told Guardian Australia.

For seven years running, Doritos enthusiasts have been invited to try their hand at filmmaking and create a thirty second commercial for the cheesy triangular snack to be played during the NFL Super Bowl. The Doritos .Crash the Super Bowl. competition this year extended its invitation to include all their fans outside of the United States to enter as well. Thousands of entries were sent in from over thirty different countries and now the competition has been whittled down to five finalists. One of which is a commercial created by Australian Tom Noakes, entitled Finger Cleaner. In Noakes. preferred style of .oddball. comedy, Finger Cleaner is about a bizarre invention that can be used to clean the flavoursome orange stains appearing on one.s fingers post Doritos consumption. The twist in the tail of the video is unnervingly hilarious and could well be the key component that caused Finger Cleaner...

Mongrel’s Creed Short Film. Tom Noakes‘ Mongrel’s Creed (2009) short film stars William Zappa, Anthony Phelan, Andy Ryan, Anthony Samson, and Stuart Rawe. Mongrel’s Creed‘s plot synopsis: “Set in the dungeons of a futuristic rehabilitation center Gravel must confront his superior officer, Mr. Cod, in order to save his close friend Robbie from becoming reprogrammed.”
There is a lot of production value in the interior scenes of Mongrel’s Creed, far more than is expected with a short film.
More on Mongrel’s Creed:
The film was completed as part of a graduate diploma at the Australian Film and Television Radio School.
Mongrel’s Creed has recently screened at the London Sci-Fi film festival, Israel Icon Sci-Fi Film festival, Adelaide Shorts Film Festival and Dungog Film Festival.
Mongrel’s Creed also stars Nathan Owen, Chris Merriman, Bali Padda, Diab Metry, Miguel Contreras, and E. James Wright.

We're excited to present the web premier of Mongrel's Creed, a dystopian short film from director Tom Noakes and written by Will Goodfellow. The film was completed as part of a graduate diploma at the .Australian Film and Television Radio School. It's a very stylish entry and I particularly like the pyramid structures at the beginning which remind me of this conservatory I live right by in my home town.
Synopsis:
Set in the dungeons of a futuristic rehabilitation center Gravel must confront his superior officer, Mr. Cod, in order to save his close friend Robbie from becoming reprogrammed.
Mongre's Creed has recently screened at the London Sci-Fi film festival, Israel Icon Sci-Fi Film festival, Adelaide Shorts Film Festival and Dungog Film Festival, but it's finally availabel to watch online.
Check the entire short out below.

A skater kid from Brisbane, Tom Noakes made his first film at the age of 13, built his own editing system and began processing footage featuring his fellow skating companions. After leaving high school, Noakes became dissatisfied with the limitations of skate films and began to appreciate narrative cinema. He was accepted in to the Queensland University of Technology and it was here that Noakes met Will Goodfellow, who he teamed up with to create the short film Mongrel's Creed. Directed by Noakes and written by Goodfellow, and produced as part of a course at the Australian, Film, Television & Radio School, Mongrel's Creed is a dark comedy set in a future, dystopian reality.

Clocking in at 11 minutes and 15 seconds, this Aussie short Tom Noakes done by the Australian Film Television Radio School looks pretty impressive. Some great scifi shots.
