Don’t let Twenty8k‘s yoof-speak title fool you; this murder mystery’s as old-fashioned as they come. A Paris-based fashionista, Deeva (Parminder Nagra), returns to her hometown of London in order to clear her brother’s name of murder. BBC's "Robin Hood" star Jonas Armstrong, British acting veteran Stephen Dillane and "Bend it Like Beckham" co-lead Parminder Nagra are teaming for the fast-paced London-set thriller "Twenty8k" for Formosa Films says The Hollywood Reporter.
Nagra plays a fashion executive who returns to London from Paris after her brother lands up in jail after a fatal gang shooting. She then tries to unravel what happened to her brother and becomes immersed in police corruption and gangland danger.
The original "State of Play" writer/creator Paul Abbott co-wrote the script with Jimmy Dowdall. Martin Carr and Neil Thompson are producing.

Shooting is underway in the East End of London on new British thriller Twenty8K, written by multi-award-winning Paul Abbott (Shameless, State of Play) and Jimmy Dowdall, and produced by Formosa Films.
The film stars Bend It Like Beckham and ER star Parminda Nagra as Deeva who returns home following the shocking news that her younger brother, played by newcomer Sebastian Nanena (right),
has been involved in a gangland shooting, and Robin Hood star Jonas Armstrong as youth worker Clint.
The film also includes a host of young British stars including Michael Socha, recently seen in Being Human, as gang leader Tony, Nichola Burley who recently filmed Wuthering Heights, as his girl-friend Andrea, and Skins star Kaya Scodelario, who will also be seen later this year in her first lead role as Cathy in Wuthering Heights.
