The "Project Runway All Stars" season is upon us (premieres Thurs., Jan. 5, 9 p.m. Est on Lifetime), and while I'm so excited to see Mondo, Rami, Sweet P, Austin, Kenley and the gang try to make it work again, I can't help but think about what other reality competition shows are due for an all-star season of their own.
"Top Chef" has done it; "The Amazing Race" got its shot; "Survivor" and "Big Brother" routinely bring back winners and fan favorites; and Tyra Banks just had her favorite smizing runners-up back for more "America's Next Top Model."
So what other shows are deserving of the all-star treatment? Here are five I'd like to see ...
1. "The Real Housewives"
"Housewives" fans love to debate which city has the most drama, but nothing could ever top what would happen if Bravo plucked the biggest divas of the bunch, from all the show's many editions,...

'Human Target' is back and sexier than ever. With two new ladies joining Chance and the crew -- one as a beautiful billionaire boss and the other as a tough-talking team member -- the return of one of last year's most intriguing new series is definitely something to sing about. So, that's exactly what star Chi McBride did for me right here.
I also chat with Tom Pizzica, 'The Next Food Network Star' runner-up who has a Big Chef-worthy new show called 'Outrageous Food.' (Does the idea of a 105-pound hamburger make anyone else a little nauseous?)
Then I stop by the set of Fox's new hit sitcom 'Raising Hope' to get some fan questions answered and uncover a big change coming. You think Jimmy can't grocery store stalk Sabrina any more than he already does? Wait until you see this.

Aarti Sequeira's first thought upon learning she won "The Next Food Network Star" isn't something she can share.
"It was an expletive that I probably can't say," she tells Zap2it the day after her win was revealed on the Food Network finale Sunday night (Aug. 15).
"Yesterday was India's Independence Day. So it was a huge day for me to win," she adds. "Today is the seven-year anniversary of my husband proposing to me. And then Thursday is my birthday. So this couldn't happen at a better time."
Her mother, who heard the news by email, couldn't contain her excitement.
"My mum called. Her voice was so high. I'd never heard her voice so high," says Sequeira. "She sounded like a 16-year-old who the cutest boy in school had asked out or something. She was so excited."
Sequeira and her husband, actor and director Brendan McNamara, have been celebrating...

It was a feel-good season finale of The Next Food Network Star, and not just because the right person took home the crown. While the contestants of the show’s sixth season were often spottier than a herd of Appaloosas, last night found the final three — Herb, Aarti, and Tom — delivering solid pilots under the watchful eye of Rachael Ray. Just as encouraging: Tom’s food seemingly matched his ebullient delivery (at least based on Rachael’s enthusiastic taste-test); Aarti avoided marinating her food (and herself) in a lukewarm bath of self-doubt; and Herb didn’t crush a can of...

The Next Food Network Star concluded with the inevitable announcement that Aarti Sequeira would get her own show on the network. Aarti Party--they're sticking with that name, though without the additional "a" in "party"--will debut Sunday at noon. Big chef Tom Pizzica and big muscled Herb Mesa were the other two finalists. I've said that certain wins seemed inevitable this summer, but Aarti's was perhaps the most assured. From early on, she was super-comfortable in...

After ten episodes that have put hopeful television chefs through the rigors of cooking in a food truck, charming Eva Longoria, mastering an 'Iron Chef' challenge and even serving meals from the Palm Springs kitchen of the legendary Frank Sinatra, last night the winner of 'The Next Food Network Star' was crowned.
It came down to three finalists -- Aarti Sequeira, Herb Mesa, and Tom Pizzica. After filming their pilots, under the guidance of Rachael Ray, the programs were evaluated by both focus groups of Food Network viewers as well as the selection committee.
The reviews were excellent all around. Nobody failed and each pilot showed true promise. The selection committee made a strong case for each contestant. Of course, only one could be the big winner. Who was it? Consider this a Spoiler Alert. Continue on for the reveal, as...

'The Next Food Network Star' (Sun., 9Pm Et on Food Network) is a fairly self-explanatory show. It's nice when a title pretty much explains it all. The winner of the contest gets to be the next ... star ... on the Food Network. And then they get to have their own series on the cable channel. (Along with such stars as Emeril and Rachael Ray).
Slightly shockingly, the guy (or girl) who wins tonight has to start filming their own cooking show the next day. After that, they only have a week before it airs. Wow! That's some pressure! Nice.
At any rate, this is the season finale. The three final contestants are: Aarti Sequeira, Herb Mesa, and Tom Pizzica. And your winner is ...

"The Next Food Network Star" has found its new winner. Aarti Sequeira, who is known to have always-warm and upbeat personality, took home the title during Sunday, August 15 finale, beating Tom Pizzica and Herb Mesa altogether.
Sequeira triumphed in the final challenge where the remaining contestants must tape a 3-minute pilot coached by the network's personality Rachael Ray. A focus group became the judge and they thought Sequeira looked comfortable talking in front of camera although she didn't look at the camera often.
The New Jersey native has no experience in the professional kitchen but she won the judges' affection with her bubbly personality and unique effort to fuse Indian flavors to everyday American cooking. For one, her Indian-themed proposed program, "Aarti's Paarti" would be none like the network has so far, making her a stand-out from the beginning.

After 10 grueling weeks, Food Network has crowned its next branded sensation.
Aarti Sequeira took home the title of "The Next Food Network Star" on the Sunday (Aug. 15) finale, beating out Tom Pizzica and Herb Mesa. This should please Zap2it readers, who overwhelmingly chose Sequeira to win.
The star of her own food blog brought that passion for cooking in front of the cameras, overcoming more experienced chefs and self doubt. Her culinary point of view is infusing Indian flavors and techniques into everyday American cooking.
The final challenge was taping a three minute pilot (directed by Food Network personality Rachael Ray), which would then be judged by a focus group. Sequeira's nerves were almost her undoing for a bit there, but after a little advice from Ray, she pulled it together and delivered a charming and upbeat pilot. All three finalists received positive reactions from the focus group, although...

Which "Next Food Network Star" contestant can take the heat that Rachael Ray is dishing?
On the "Star" season finale Sunday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. Et, the perky Food Network personality will be directing the Top 3's pilots for the shows they're wanting to launch. Once a focus group has weighed in, the judges will decide who has the chops -- in the kitchen and in front of the camera -- to become the next face on the network.
Let's take a look at the finalists:
Herb Mesa - His past as an overweight child informs his cuisine -- healthy but tasty dishes -- but it's also been his downfall earlier on in the competition when his low self-esteem sabotaged his performance in front of the camera. Eventually though, he came into his own, and switched his rather weak "Energy Chef" idea to the much stronger and focused "Cooking con...

The season finale 'The Next Food Network' airs Sunday at 9Pm Et, and if you've been watching since the first episode, you know that it's been a good competition. All the three finalists -- Aarti Sequeira, Herb Mesa, and Tom Pizzica -- seem to have a good shot at winning the top prize.
We have our own thoughts about who would excel with his or her own Food Network television show, but if you've studied the judges' reaction, one candidate seems to have the inside track to victory.
