A handful of YouTube stars, Twitch streamers, and other creative types are involved in a new project on Instagram, but no video is involved. Instead, creators like Meghan Camarena appear in a series of high-quality photos, which together form a superhero whodunit dubbed #SpideyMurderMystery.
As its title suggests, the #SpideyMurderMystery takes place in the Marvel universe, with characters from the Spider-Man canon battling one another. Their struggles are photographed by Michael Becker across daily sets of nine images.
The mystery will unfold during the week of October 26th, with each daily photo set focusing on a specific character. Up first is Gwen Stacy, portrayed by Camarena; she’ll be followed by Yu Komori (stuntman Yoshua Sudarso), Silk (Joanna Sotomura), Mary Jane (Ashlyn Pearce), and Peter Parker (Twitch streamer Wesley Johnson). The biggest headline from StyleHaul’s presentation at the 2015 Newfronts concerned its partnership with Amazon, where several of its fashion, beauty, and style experts are offering product recommendations. At the same time, the network aimed at young women also discussed several other projects, including Vanity, the first series to be produced by Bernie Su and David Tochterman’s new digital studio, Canvas.

1. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. A runaway success that sparked a veritable wave of web adaptations of romantic novels and stories, this Emmy-winning series is inventive, romantic, and beautifully executed. Ashley Clements and Daniel Vincent Gordh (particularly the former) handled their iconic Lizzie/Darcy roles with aplomb, and the series pulled a particular coup by casting Mary Kate Wiles as Lydia and reshaping her story as that of a party girl who gets hurt and slowly grows up over the course of the series. The interactions between sisters Lizzie, Lydia, and Jane (Laura Spencer), are warm and real and the highlight of the series along with the slowly-built-up Darcy/Lizzie romance.
The main flaw in the series is that it’s too long – the first 50 episodes chronicle every event that happens in the book, and while book purists might call this praiseworthy, this is a web-series not a BBC adaptation, and...

"Emma Approved" is the newest web series sensation to hit our screens. The series, from the Emmy award-winning team behind "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" and spin-off "Welcome to Sanditon," is a modernization of Jane Austen's "Emma."
Brent Bailey stars in Emma Approved as Alex Knightley, whose job it is to take care of the "important, boring stuff," for our heroine, Emma Woodhouse (Joanna Sotomura). Both actors have been received positively by fans. But Emma Approved was not Bailey's first encounter with this creative team. He auditioned twice for "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries," for the roles of George Wickham and William Darcy. In this exclusive interview, he confesses to being a "hopeless romantic," explains how he took inspiration from Paul Rudd in "Clueless" - and yes, tells us all about those first auditions.

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Image Entertainment. Director/writer: Eric England. Cast: Ace Marrero, Katie Stegeman, Natalie Scheetz, Nick Principe, Matt Mercer, Colley Bailey and Joanna Sotomura. Madison County is a slasher film soon to be released by Image Entertainment (May 8th). The film follows a group of friends into a small town where a possible thesis, involving a serial killer, awaits James (Colley Bailey) and his four friends. That serial killer is still active and James must fight off a 6' plus killer, played by Nick Principe. The story from Eric England is only partially fleshed out, but sometimes having unanswered questions creates a better experience for viewers. Overall, Madison County was a fun time spent with believable characters and their last moments. This is definitely a horror film and the sub-genre would be one of the slasher. Horror elements include certain tropes.

Nick Principie is a professional madman, owning the character of “ChromeSkull” in the Laid To Rest films, as “Sledgesaw” in Vs, and now as “Damien” in Madison County, hitting video on May 8th. Principe’s 6’7″ frame made “ChromeSkull” one of modern horror’s most memorable villains, and he is hoping to work that same magic here, trading technology for backwoods mayhem and a severed hog head.
Madison County is the rookie effort from director and writer Eric England, and also stars Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, James Cotten, Katie Stegman, Matt Mercer, Dayton Knoll, and Joanna Sotomura.
Synopsis:

Nick Principe is a hard man to ignore. He stands about 6'7" tall, is covered in badass tattoos and is best known for playing a chrome-skulled killer that some feel could be horror's next iconic slasher. And now, straight out of Arkansas, Principe brings us his newest malevolent murderer, a pig mask donning psycho named Damien Ewell in Eric England's first feature film, Madison County.
Madison County is about a group of college kids who travel to the small mountain town of the same name to interview the author of a tell-all book about brutal murders that occurred in the town. But, as you would expect, when they get to Madison County, things are way more fucked up than they ever could have imagined. Enter the giant in the pig mask.
"(Director) Eric (England) hit me up on Facebook," Principe said, when asked how he heard about the role of Damien.

ComingSoon.net published a poster for the indie horror film “Madison County.” Artist Tom “The Dude” Hodge created the poster. Here is a synopsis of the film: Madison County is about a group of college students that travel to a remote, mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book on the accounts of the grisly murders that happened in the town over two decades ago. Upon their arrival, the author is no where to be found and the townspeople state that they’ve “not seen him in years.” They also deny that Damien Ewell, the notorious murderer, ever existed and that the murders never happened. As the kids start to dig around to get their own answers, they come to find that the stories, and Damien, maybe more real than the townspeople are letting on. The film stars Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, Adrienne Harrell, Matt Mercer,...

Here's some great poster art for the indie horror film Madison County. The film premiered at Screamfest, and the poster you see above was created by Tom "The Dude" Hodge who also created the movie poster for Hobo With a Shotgun. Ya gotta love pig-headed killers.
The film itself is about a group of college kids who travel to a small mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book about several grisly murders that happened there. But when the kids get to Madison County, the author is nowhere to be found and the locals act like they haven't seen him in years. They also say that the killer never existed and the murders never happened. However, when the kids start digging around to get their own answers, they find out that the stories may be more real than the townspeople are letting on.
