Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal, who essayed the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the biopic ‘Sam Bahadur’, is remembering the Indian war hero on his 110th birth anniversary.
On Wednesday, the actor took to the Stories section of his Instagram and shared a monochromatic picture of Sam Manekshaw posing proudly in his uniform for the camera. He can be seen standing near his Jeep.
Vicky wrote on the picture: “Remembering the legend on his 110th birth anniversary. Sam Bahadur.”
‘Sam Bahadur’, released in December last year and told the story of the legendary soldier, how he strengthened the army with his wit and decision-making abilities. The film, which also starred Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, clashed with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ at the box office, with the latter emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

From his posture to dialogues, and his looks, actor Vicky Kaushal looks every inch convincing as first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, in the trailer of the biographical war drama ‘Sam Bahadur’, which was unveiled here on Tuesday.
The two minute 43 second trailer begins with a spine chilling recitation of the doha ‘soora so pahachaanie jo lare deen ke het..pooraja-pooraja kat mare kabahoo na chhaade khet’, by Vicky’s character as Sam.
What’s convincing is to see his character having a discussion with the ministers, including Fatima Sana Sheikh, who portrays late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
The line “my soldiers don’t want normal. They want to win. I want to win”, shows him in a powerful light as Manekshaw, who is determined to triumph in every stage. However, Fatima doesn’t make an impressive impact as the late former Pm.

ReviewDirector Amit Masurkar draws out the human-animal conflict in all its complexity by bringing in several threads into the story.Sowmya RajendranSherni begins with the blurry shot of a forest guard pretending to be a tiger. He mimics the stride and growls of the beast until the riveting performance is broken by his colleagues. His act was for setting up a camera in the jungle, but with that opening, Amit Masurkar also blurs the line between man and animal. Sherni, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, is based on the controversial killing of Avni, a tigress in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra in 2018. Killing a beast of prey has always been associated with masculinity and bravery, despite the efforts of conservationists...

The film will see Vidya Balan in the lead, as an upright Forest officer – Vidya, who powers through the brutal beasts of social barrier set by the patriarchal society and the lackadaisical attitudes within her department.
The exciting trailer showcases Vidya’s incredible journey, set in the world full of quirky yet relatable characters, as she navigates through her marriage with her rather unusual job, all this while trying to resolve the man-animal conflict.
Produced by T-Series & Abundantia Entertainment, this must-watch drama is helmed by Newton-fame director Amit Masurkar and is laced with his trademark satire. The film also has an eclectic mix of actors like Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi in key roles.

Adil Hussain says an actor will only be able to depict compassion on screen only if he is empathetic in life.
The actor features in the film "Raahgir: The Wayfarers" and says the artistes in the film have done a great job depicting these emotions. He shares screen space with Neeraj Kabi and Tilotama Shome in the film directed by the veteran Goutam Ghose.
The film is based on a short story by Prafulla Roy and centres around the story of three daily wage labourers in dire need, and how they showcase humanity despite their problems.
"The film is about three human beings Nathuni, Lakhpati and Chopatlal, whose empathy and compassion come out when they opt for humanity over survival. They have nothing to fall back on and Goutam da has beautifully captured that in this film. If an actor is not really empathetic in real life, it will show on screen,...
