You may know him as a certain superhero, but Chris Hemsworth has a wealth of film roles that go beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After getting his big break on a TV show (the Australian soap opera Home and Away), Hemsworth pivoted to films in the early 2000s — and has only seen growing success since then. In fact, when Extraction dropped in the summer of 2020, its first four weeks saw the largest audience of any other Netflix original movie at the time.
Now, three years later, there’s even more Extraction action to stream. With Extraction 2 out now, there’s no better time to revisit some of the actor’s most memorable movie roles. From Rush and Spiderhead to Snow White and the Huntsman, these films will have you worshipping at the altar of the son of Odin.

In the Marvel Comics, when All-Father Odin first dubbed Thor as the God of Thunder, it was an ironic moniker, as the young crown prince of Asgard was terrified of thunderstorms as a child. Over time, Thor would go on to thoroughly earn this title after his life-altering exile in Midgard (Earth), explored in a milder capacity in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor," which cemented the character's irreplaceable status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Chris Hemsworth's rendition of the character, when contrasted to its comic counterpart, emerges as delightfully layered: Hemsworth's Thor is a mixture of sincere self-seriousness and dorky obliviousness, with equal parts strength and vulnerability contributing to an extremely likable superhero persona. Despite the character's godlike status, Thor's presence in the MCU almost had a grounding effect, where complexity and levity went hand in hand to steer stories that brimmed with grit and heart.

Chris Hemsworth is one of the biggest celebrities in the world and is best known for his performance as Thor in the MCU. While he has garnered widespread acclaim for his portrayal of the Norse God, the fourth Thor movie just didn’t live up to the previous films.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
However, one below-expectation performance can not stop fans from showing their appreciation for Hemsworth’s role. This includes his fellow MCU colleague, the iconic Robert Downey Jr. who once had some words of compliments for the actor.

According to the origin of Marvel’s Thor, the All-Father Odin sends his son to Earth to learn humility. It sounds like Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has had to do the same thing.
Hemsworth’s Thor was riding high going into 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, following 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, which won over fans who dismissed his first two solo outings, as well as the strong emotional arc in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. But for many, Love and Thunder pushed the wacky sensibilities of writer/director Taika Waititi too far, resulting in a movie too glib to be funny. And Hemsworth agrees.
“I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself,” the Aussie actor recently admitted to Vanity Fair. “I didn’t stick the landing.”
It’s easy to see why Hemsworth leaned so far into Waititi’s style for Love and Thunder.

Kang the Conqueror was positioned to be the next great villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the same way Thanos was for the Infinity Saga. However, in the wake of Jonathan Majors getting fired, the idea has been up in the air, as fans try to speculate who would be the next villain in the MCU.
Ravonna Renslayer, in Loki Season 1
While a slew of fans want Majors replaced, and another section of the fandom wants a new villain to take over from Kang altogether, a theory has come out to put Ravonna Renslayer at the center of this conversation, pushing for her to become the next big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Starting with "Iron Man: The Art of the Movie," the publisher is re-issuing all of the art books tied to (almost) every chapter of the MCU. "The Art of Iron Man 2" followed earlier this year, and there will be 24 books in the entire collection. Season 2 of Disney+’s animated What If…? anthology answered nine new questions in Season 2, including: “What if Nebula joined the Nova Corps?” “What if Peter Quill attacked Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?” And, “What if the Avengers assembled in the year 1602?”
But one question that the showrunner for Seasons 1 and 2 also asked and answered will never see the light of day, seeing as it was a “very dark” episode involving your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Ian Ziering left the scene of a violent attack “unscathed” but “deeply concerned” about the “larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior.”
Ziering was the victim of a New Year’s Eve altercation in Los Angeles, Calif. According to TMZ, which obtained video of the incident (see below), the Beverly Hills, 90210 star exited his car on Hollywood Boulevard to assess the damage after a group of motorized mini bikes wove in and out of traffic and potentially dinged his vehicle. It was then that the bikers surrounded Ziering and began to attack him.

The second season of What If? has been dropped by Marvel Studios in a year that has seen both the rise and fall of the MCU. The final Guardians of the Galaxy and the second season of Loki were absolute triumphs, while the rest was pretty much a let down. I’m not even going to go into the Jonathan Major fiasco, but that must have hurt the MCU, and the future of this thing doesn’t look too bright. Considering all these, it was essential for Marvel to wrap up this year strong, and the good news is that What If? has been quite successful in doing that. With the anthology format, it was a given that some of the episodes would not be that good, while others might just be extraordinary. And that’s exactly how it went. We’re going to rank the new batch of episodes...

When the post-apocalyptic drama Finality of Dusk has its world premiere Friday at the Red Nation Film Festival in Los Angeles, it’s a good bet co-writer and Deaf filmmaker Katarina Ziervogel will be seated near to the back of the theater.
That’s because Ziervogel and sound design supervisor Daniel Pellerin shaped the sonic landscape for the indie Canadian film with increased bass and rumble to allow Finality of Dusk to not only bridge the hearing world and the Deaf world but also to allow deaf moviegoers to feel the film vibrating through their body in their seats.
“In the sound design, the bass has been increased to amplify vibrations which can be felt more intensely if you aim to sit in the middle to the back rows inside a movie theater,” Ziervogel, who co-wrote the film with director Madison Thomas, tells The Hollywood Reporter.

The following article contains spoilers for "Loki" season 2 through episode 4.
Like Odin's legendary eight-legged horse Sleipnir, "Loki" season 2 gallops on apace. It's hard to believe we're already in the second half of the season. Of course, it was clear by episode 1 that the season's Mvp is Ke Huy Quan's character Ouroboros, or Ob as everyone calls him. Why is that his nickname? Because Loki (Tom Hiddleston) called him Ob in an earlier time after hearing it in a later time from Ob himself, and that's how he got the nickname and ... you may want to take ibuprofen preemptively for this article.
The name Ouroboros comes from the ouroboros symbol of a snake or a dragon eating its own tail. It's a symbol that has been used in ancient Greece and Egypt, a gnostic symbol, and one used in alchemical writings. Its meaning can vary, but mostly it's the...

Do decisions governed by prejudice make way for determinism, or is it the other way around? Disney+’s best live action series, Loki presented this discourse in its first season, and has successfully held onto it as it progresses to the midway point of the second one. The team makes yet another journey back in time, and this one is a rather significant one in MCU timeline given the fact we are finally introduced to one of He Who Remains’ variants – Victor Timely.
In the previous episode, we learned that O.B was unable to fix the instability in the Temporal Loom, as it required the Temporal aura of the person who designed Tva in the first place – He Who Remains. In his absence, Miss Minutes’ presence would have sufficed, but she has been missing since the season finale of last season, as is the rogue Judge Ravonna Renslayer, and...

The third episode of Loki season two is a wild trip back to the past as Mobius and Loki try to track down Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes, who have been Mia since the season one finale. They find the pair trying to alter history at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893, and are also led to a variant of He Who Remains, one who could potentially help them with their temporal loom problems back at the Tva.
A ton of detail has gone into recreating the World’s Fair, and Hwr variant Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors) puts on a spectacle for the crowd there, showing off an early version of the loom that doesn’t yet work as described. But before Loki and Mobius clap their eyes on Timely, they meander through the fair and take in some of the attractions, including a diorama...

The fate of the multiverse is at stake in the latest season of "Loki," as the Time Variance Authority's beating heart, the Temporal Loom, is currently at risk of being destabilized. A panicked Ob (Ke Huy Quan) explains that the Loom requires the temporal aura of its creator to return back to baseline — however, as He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) has been dead for quite some time, all hopes are pinned on a rogue Miss Minutes (voiced by Tara Strong), who is secretly working with ex-Tva employee Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) since she dipped off the Tva's radar. As the duo journey back to the past, so do Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson), who are desperate to avert the catastrophe that might erase every timeline that exists.

Thankfully, Neill has been in remission from stage-three blood cancer but it is still something that he lives with. And while Neill has to undergo infusions every two weeks, what really scares him isn’t cancer but retirement.

Emilia Clarke is dismissing claims from others, including a fellow actor, who said people who act in front of a greenscreen aren’t really acting.
During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, published online Wednesday, the actress, who has been in several projects that have had castmembers interact with a greenscreen, including Secret Invasion and Game of Thrones, gave her take on the misconception.
“The stigma is that people don’t do any acting in these shows,” Clarke said. “And then you’re like, ‘Well, then why are they asking all these great actors to do it, and why are they saying yes?’”
The actress’ rationale was that if it isn’t “real” acting, then top actors, such as her Secret Invasion co-stars Samuel L. Jackson and Olivia Colman, wouldn’t take on roles in projects that use greenscreens.
“The cast is ridiculous,” she added of her fellow castmembers in the Marvel series.

It’s no secret that the MCU has been the biggest Hollywood juggernaut over the last 15 years, consisting of more than 31 films and raking in a record $28.6 billion worldwide. The franchise is beloved by millions and the collective universe that Marvel has built is one of the most creative adaptions of comic-book history that that the world will ever see. Regardless of whether or not somebody might be a fan of the movies, it can’t be denied how massive and influential the MCU has become.

Being the Thunder God son of Odin means you’re going to see a lot of action, and Chris Hemsworth has undoubtedly shown up with the physicality to handle all the fantastical enemies a God would encounter. However, it’s widely known that in order to film the otherworldly scenes of the Marvel universe, it involves a lot of wires and green screen manipulation. Entertainment Weekly reports that Hemsworth finds it much more satisfying to do the stunts for his gritty action film Extraction, which will have a sequel coming to Netflix in the summer of next year.
Hemsworth returns as his character Tyler Rake, and while the first had some incredibly ambitious action set pieces, including an extended sequence through an apartment building to the city streets in one uninterrupted shot, Hemsworth says the stunts in this new film are “the most detailed and exhausting fight training I’ve ever been a part of.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been rife with cameos over the last fifteen years, from television hosts to hubristic billionaires who pick fights with rock stars. In Phase Four, the very nature of what makes a cameo was tested. Minor characters popped up for full episodes of "She-Hulk." Kevin Bacon played himself and became the McU-canon lynchpin of the "Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special." Bacon's ecstatic turn as himself pursued by Drax and Mantis is too substantial to be a cameo, but it works because it's cameo-adjacent. Great cameos take a recognizable actor or character and deploy them surprisingly for a brief period. Even if Bacon's appearance was supersized, it works because he seemed destined for the MCU in a marquee role. Here, director James Gunn takes advantage of the actor's self-awareness and makes him important to beloved Marvel characters.

Marvel Snap is the perfect gateway drug for Ccg fans who find Hearthstone too intimidating and in-person Magic: The Gathering tournaments can be too…well…you know. Snap is easy to learn, quick to play, and the game’s “escape” feature and limited, but charming, emoji palette keep the leveling grind refreshingly non-toxic.
Despite the Ccg title’s welcoming simplicity and wholesomeness, it still features enough mechanics under the hood to make mastering the game a true challenge. What’s more, simply plugging in recommended decks isn’t going to teach you the lessons you need to learn to figure out which cards and strategies are the best for you.
With each new unlock comes an increasing amount of deck variability that forces you to think about new ways to play. That being the case, we’re going to give you two great decks to learn and build from for...

The prologue of “God of War Ragnarök” peaks with a dramatic moment that fans of Sony’s blockbuster video game franchise have been waiting for since it was teased at the end of the previous installment in 2018: The reveal of the saga’s big bad, a Norse deity whose obsessive desire to rip apart the fabric of fate itself has severely complicated the former God of War’s quest to scatter his wife’s ashes from the highest peak in all the nine realms and establish an emotional bond with the child he seldom refers to by name.
The wall of ice between Kratos (Christopher Judge) and Atreus (“Mid90s” breakout Sunny Suljic) has only gotten more frigid now that the boy is a bonafide teenager, and with Fimbulwinter blanketing Midgard under mile-deep sheets of white snow — the cold snap heralding the deadliest battle the world has ever known — it...

This article contains spoilers for God of War: Ragnarok.
God of War: Ragnarok continues the adventure started by 2018’s God of War, as well as the journey of Kratos that began way back in 2005’s God of War. The events of the epic sequel lead to a conclusion that will surely leave fans buzzing.
After setting the events of Ragnarok in motion and earning the ire of Odin, Thor, and Freya in the process, Kratos and his son Atreus (who is actually Loki) set out to learn more about their role in the apparent end of the world. Along the way, they meet up with various familiar faces and new additions who help them understand that they are so much more than players in the events to come.
Do Kratos and Atreus stop Ragnarok? Do they fulfill the prophecy set out for them at the end of the previous game?...

When Santa Monica Studio released 2018’s God of War, the studio changed how the franchise tackles equipment and magic. God of War Ragnarok continues the precedent set by the soft reboot.
In God of War and God of War Ragnarok, players can collect items called Runic Attacks and slot them into weapons. Each rune lets Kratos use a powerful elemental ability that can stun enemies, deal heavy damage, and control the battlefield. Runic Attacks can potentially change the tide of battle, and while they don’t rely on mana, they are balanced out by lengthy cooldowns. Plus, players need to find these attacks before they can use them. That’s the biggest catch of them all.
As with God of War, Runic Attacks in God of War Ragnarok are locked behind significant challenges. Some of these abilities are guarded by powerful bosses, while others are hidden in chests that are stored off the beaten path.

God of War Ragnarok is many things, but one of the game’s best features is its nearly unrivaled cinematic presentation style. Of course, the sequel’s ambitious narrative and storytelling would be nothing without the perfect cast of voice actors to play every character.
Thankfully, Ragnarok features such a cast. While many of the game’s principal characters (and voice actors) are returning from 2018’s God of War, those familiar faces and voices are joined by some fully-realized new characters that help make this game the most epic God of War adventure yet.
Before we dive a bit deeper into all that, you should know that the full God of War: Ragnarok cast is massive. Not only would it be incredibly difficult to list every single voiced character in the game in anything close to a legible format, but we would be spoiling a significant portion of the game...
