A lamentable dearth of laughs infects this comedy-fantasy set in a nightmarish dystopia where everyone is high on something
A decidedly tedious, profoundly unfunny comedy-crime-fantasy set in some nightmarish version of a British metropolis (essentially a sound stage with murky lighting) where nearly everyone is high on something, be it super-skunk or a highly addictive, crack-like substance called Red Devil.
Writer-director Savvas D Michael (Smoking Guns) prods the plot forward at gunpoint as we follow three converging storylines. In one, Hugo (Ian Reddington), an ageing cannabis farmer-dealer in a flappy-eared hat, entertains an assortment of customers, none of whom seem especially interested in hanging out with him and listening to his appalling taste in music and sharing the obligatory spliff after purchase. His only hanger-on is Gabriel (Matt Lapinskas), a sneering millennial who, judging by the black-feathered bolero he wears, apparently raided the costume box of a low-rent production of...

Chico Slimani and Matt Lapinskas returned to the ice for a special performance at Broadgate ice rink in London last night (February 6).
Chico, who finished in third place on Dancing on Ice in 2012, dug out a pair of his zebra print leggings and donned a captain's hat as he performed on the ice and sang to the crowds.
The former X Factor star also removed his shirt before taking a selfie.
Ex-EastEnders actor and Doi runner-up Matt Lapinskas, who is currently dating professional skater Brianne Delcourt after they were paired together on the ITV show last year, also displayed some impressive moves on the rink.
The pair were joined by ex-rugby player and current Doi All Stars contestant Kyran Bracken. The sports star also won the show in 2007.
Following their performances, the first 100 people to arrive at the event were treated to a skate around the rink with the three stars.

Dancing on Ice contestant Matt Lapinskas finished runner-up despite falling in the bottom two of the public vote on all but one occasion during the series, official voting results have revealed.
Newly-released statistics by ITV show that the majority of viewers didn't support the ex-EastEnders actor and his professional partner Brianne Delcourt, who were beaten by Beth Tweddle and Dan Whiston in the final on March 10.

Beth Tweddle has won the eighth series of ITV reality show Dancing on Ice.
The 27-year-old gymnast beat EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas to lift the trophy in tonight's final (March 10).

Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner has hit out at "bulls**t" rumours surrounding the romantic life of finalist Matt Lapinskas.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Gardiner claimed that reports Lapinskas split with his former EastEnders co-star Shona McGarty for his Doi partner Brianne Delcourt are "just hype" with "really... no basis".
Gardiner similarly stressed that the belief Samia Ghadie stole Sylvain Longchambon from Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe is "incorrect", adding that he thinks the couple chose to deny their relationship until recently to avoid "intrusion".
Gardiner also admitted that he doesn't think Luke Campbell deserves to join Lapinskas and Beth Tweddle in the Dancing on Ice final, noting that he is only there because of "a strange twist of fate", namely Gareth Thomas's exit due to illness.

Phillip Schofield has explained Gareth Thomas's unusual exit from Dancing on Ice last night and insisted that there was no way the rugby player could be kept in the show for the final.
Thomas was eliminated from the reality show's semi-final last night after falling sick and being unable to take part in a skate-off.
Consequently, Thomas was voted off the show without a final performance.
Speaking about why they didn't opt to have a four-contestant final, Schofield told This Morning: "A lot of people on Twitter last night were saying you should have put all four through to the final, but the structure of the show doesn't allow for that.... and unfortunately, the rule is, if you can't skate you have to go.
"It wasn't the production team, it was the medics that said 'you can't do this'... but we wish him lots of love and hopefully he'll...

Dancing on Ice comes to its dramatic conclusion this weekend with three celebrities left in with a chance of being crowned King or Queen of the Ice.
But which skater should walk home with the prize? And who should go home with only bruises to show for their hard work and dedication?
Matt Lapinskas has had a surge of support at the bookies in recent weeks and is now the firm favourite to take the crown.
However, he will have to push aside Olympian Beth Tweddle, who has been one of the most popular contestants with the public and judges throughout the series.
Boxer Luke Campbell remains the longshot outsider, but could he shock us all and land the knockout punch in Sunday's final?
The Dancing on Ice final airs on Sunday, March 10 at 7pm on ITV1.

Beth Tweddle, Matt Lapinskas and Luke Campbell made it through to the Dancing on Ice final tonight (March 3) after an unprecedented semi-final.
Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas was forced to withdraw from the competition this evening after becoming unwell with severe motion sickness.
Thomas, 38, had been struggling all week with rehearsing a routine in which he would 'fly' across the rink. Footage showed him regularly vomiting and struggling to keep his composure.
After failing to perform his rehearsed routine, Thomas was told by paramedics that he would not be allowed to skate again this evening.
However, presenter Philip Schofield announced during the results show that Thomas received some of the lowest votes and therefore would have to perform again. On advice from the show's medical team, Thomas was forced to withdraw immediately from the competition.
It allowed gymnast Tweddle, EastEnders actor Lapinskas and boxer Campbell to sail through to the final without challenge.

Lapinskas and his pro partner Brianne Delcourt scored 35.5 and soared to the top of the judges' leaderboard after their skate to Seal's 'A Change Is Gonna Come'.
Bookies Ladbrokes have revealed that they've taken their biggest ever bet in the history of Dancing on Ice, £5,000, on Lapinskas winning the title.
Beth Tweddle remains the favourite to win the show with the betting at even money, but Lapinskas has had his odds shortened to 6/5.
Luke Campbell (50/1) and Samia Ghadie (25/1) are long-shot outsiders, while rugby star Gareth Thomas can be backed at 10/1.
Dancing on Ice continues on Sundays on ITV.

Dancing on Ice judge Ashley Roberts has admitted that she got "really emotional" over Shayne Ward's exit from the reality show last weekend.
Ward was controversially eliminated from the ITV series on Sunday (February 3) after losing a skate-off to soap star Matt Lapinskas.
Commenting on the X Factor singer's exit, Roberts told Daybreak: "I was really emotional, I didn't expect to feel that because we didn't think they would be in the bottom two.
"We were in total shock and [Shayne] was just starting to get it. He was in it, he was having fun, he was giving us that fire - and then we had to let him go. So I was pretty upset about it. Matt even stumbled [in the skate-off], but he was the stronger performer."

Dancing on Ice's Jason Gardiner has hit out at his fellow judges, accusing them of breaking their own rules in this week's skate-off.

Despite a stumble on the ice from Lapinskas, Gardiner was the only judge who voted to save Ward.
A similar situation occurred in week one when Pamela Anderson slipped in the skate-off. She was considered a stronger skater than her rival Keith Chegwin by the judges, however in that instance the panel based their decision purely on the skate-off and eliminated Anderson.
Speaking afterwards on Twitter, Gardiner said: "In the skate off mistakes should count. We got rid of Pammy week 1 & it should be no different. #stick2rules."
Following allegations from viewers that the show's skate-off results were fixed, he clarified his comments on Facebook.

There was more drama, suspense and mayhem on the skates tonight during Dancing on Ice, as the remaining eight (yes, there's still eight of them) celebrities performed for the viewers' votes.
And there was plenty to see, as Keith Chegwin morphed into a stern, serious type and Joe Pasquale wore an outfit so bright we had to adjust the TV.
Meanwhile, Matt Lapinskas came top of the leaderboard…for wearing the dodgiest costume, as he did his best impression of a crow heading to a fancy dress party as Kiss.

Shayne Ward has left Dancing on Ice.

Before performing again in the 'Save Me Skate', Ward said: "I got my best mark tonight, but I'm devastated to be in the bottom two."
After skating to The Temper Trap's hit 'Sweet Disposition', Ward and partner Maria Filippov were eliminated from the competition by judges Robin Cousins, Karen Barber and Ashley Roberts.
Only Jason Gardiner voted to save Ward, after Lapinskas stumbled and fell during his performance, citing that in his opinion, the 'Save Me Skate' had to be "performed perfectly".
