Back in March, I wrote a column about the Netflix Effect, and the boost that non-Netflix shows often get when they arrive on the streaming giant. One of the series I used as an example was Resident Alien, starring Alan Tudyk as an extraterrestrial posing as a Colorado small-town doctor after being stranded by a spaceship crash; I had barely watched it in its primary home on Syfy, only to begin bingeing it once the first two seasons joined the Netflix library. The future of Resident Alien is up in the air. The Syfy sci-fi series wrapped its third season early last month, and it has not yet been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season. If the series does return, it is not likely to be on Syfy.
Starring Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Judah Prehn, and Elizabeth Bowen, the series follows what happens when an alien (Tudyk) on a mission to kill all humans assimilates with the residents of his small town, complicating his task.

Exclusive: A little over a month after Season 3 of Resident Alien wrapped its run on Syfy, the future of the quirky sci-fi comedy-drama is up in the air. And there is some intrigue over where the series starring Alan Tudyk would continue should it get a fourth season.

But a potential Season 4 pickup by USA would come with a major budget reduction, as much as $500,000 an episode, which will be challenging, I hear.

The TV world is filled with many successes and many duds.
That especially rings true for the Science Fiction/Fantasy genres, as they are very easy to mess up.
Luckily, 2022 brought us a lot of high-quality entertainment under the umbrella!
From HBO to Netflix, there were a bunch of different Networks that aired these high-quality series.
Check out what made our list below!
House of the Dragon (HBO)
The first Game of Thrones spin-off to see the light of day started slow, but our patience was rewarded in the second half of the season.
A deep-dive into the downfall of House Targaryen made for a more focused narrative than the original series.
The casting was on point, and we don't think any other show comes close to it in terms of production values.
The second season should be even better now that the Dance of the Dragons is underway.

Tj Miller has claimed that Ryan Reynolds contacted him after he said he had a “weird” experience with the Deadpool actor during filming.
The former Silicon Valley star, who played Weasal in the first two Deadpool films, said in a recent podcast interview that Reynolds’s alleged on-set behaviour left him with no desire to work with the actor again.
“Would I work with him again? No, I would not work with him again,” Miller said during an appearance on the Adam Corolla Show podcast earlier this month. “But I’ve said that about Michael Bay, and now we’re friends, and I would work with him again. But I think Michael Bay is different.”
Miller explained: “We had a really weird moment on Deadpool where he said, ‘Let’s do one more take.’ And then as the character, he was horrifically mean to me as if I’m Weasel.

T.J. Miller made headlines after a recent appearance on Adam Carolla’s podcast, when he insisted that he would never work with Ryan Reynolds again due to a “weird” experience with the actor on the set of the last “Deadpool” movie.
“Would I work with him again? No,” declared Miller, who played bartender Weasel in “Deadpool” and its sequel.
Detailing what he perceived as Reynolds, in character as Deadpool, being “horrifically mean” to his character, Weasel, the former “Silicon Valley” star added, “I sorta wish him well, because he’s so good at Deadpool, and I think it’s weird that he hates me.”

T.J. Miller, who has been accused of sexual assault, arrested for making a bomb threat on an Amtrak train while heavily intoxicated, and accused of being a bully on the set of Silicon Valley by Alice Wetterlund, claimed that he himself was bullied on the set of Deadpool 2 by star Ryan Reynolds.
Miller spoke about Reynolds while being interviewed for The Adam Carrolla Podcast.
“I would not have done Deadpool 3 if they came to me and were like, ‘We want you to do Deadpool 3,’ and we’re going to pay you twice as much,'” he said.
Though given how radioactive Miller has become recently, there’s not a high chance of that happening.
He mentioned in the interview that he felt Reynolds was more down-to-earth while filming the original Deadpool in 2015, though Reynolds had been attached to the project since 2010.

During Miller’s visit to SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts on Wednesday, co-host Jim Norton asked about him recently saying on the Adam Carolla Show podcast that Reynolds was “horrifically mean” one day on set. Miller told Norton that Reynolds reached out to him about the podcast interview and that the two have since straightened things out.
“It was a misunderstanding,” Miller said about their on-set moment from years ago. “So I emailed him back, and now it’s fine.”

T.J. Miller starred as the bartender Weasel in the first two “Deadpool” movies, where he often sparred onscreen with co-star Ryan Reynolds. But Miller said on a recent episode of “The Adam Carolla Show” (via Entertainment Weekly) that he doesn’t think Reynolds likes him and therefore the two won’t be working together again.
Not that Miller would likely return in the upcoming third “Deadpool” movie. The actor was accused of sexual assault in 2017 and arrested in 2018 for allegedly making a fake bomb threat on an Amtrak train. Prosecutors eventually dismissed the case. Miller was also accused in 2018 of bullying his “Silicon Valley” co-star Alice Wetterlund on set, which he denied.
On the set of “Deadpool,” Miller told Carolla that Reynolds was “horrifically mean to me” while in character as the foul-mouthed superhero.

The actor, who played the title character’s close friend Weasel in the wildly popular 2016 original film and its subsequent 2018 sequel, was a recent guest on the Adam Corolla Show podcast. During the interview, Miller said that he has no plans to work again with Ryan Reynolds following what he described as an awkward on-set moment between them.

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of Resident Alien, “I Believe in Aliens.” If you don’t want to be spoiled, stay away from the Patience Clinic’s gossipy nurse, Ellen. She’s the worst! ] Once again, Resident Alien hit it out the park with its second-season finale, as Harry (Alan Tudyk) made a poignant choice regarding the alien-hybrid baby, as well as the sweetest move possible for Asta (Sara Tomko) after D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund) linked him to Sam Hodge’s murder. But before that, Harry finally came face-to-face with Joseph (Enver Gjokaj) of the Greys, Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) went public with her childhood UFO sightings and a sleep-walking issue with the Hawthornes proved to be far more horrifying than either of them could have imagined. The following contains mild spoilers for Resident Alien.
Resident Alien is about much more than just Harry Vandesrpiegle (Alan Tudyk), a disguised alien pretending to be human in the town of Patience, Colorado. Yes, there’s plenty of awkward comedy as he tries to blend in and make sense of the oddities of human behavior, but the show also uses his abrasive personality and pointed commentary to illuminate the similar problems many of his neighbors are also dealing with.
That the show gives each and every member of its sprawling cast such clearly defined layers is part of the reason it’s so darn great to begin with, but what makes it truly remarkable is that these characters all have journeys and arcs of their own that exist completely separately from Harry and the threat of alien annihilation. Asta (Sara Tomko) is attempting to build bridges with the daughter she gave up for adoption.

Phoning home is not an option! The titular E.T. (Alan Tudyk) of Syfy’s standout dramedy resumes his second year of inhabiting the body of earthling Harry Vanderspeigle amid the fallout from pal Asta (Sara Tomko) gunning down a shady dude from the real Harry’s past in the second half of Resident Alien Season 2. “Asta is not handling it well,” explains creator Chris Sheridan, adding that things get even messier once her Bff, D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund), becomes involved. “What’s the saying? ‘A friend helps you move, but a true friend helps you move a body.’” More trouble on tap: That alien assassin (Enver Gjokaj) we met in the midseason finale sticks around, and a feral baby alien (above) runs loose in Patience, Colorado. One of TV's best dramedies is sticking around.
Syfy has officially picked up Resident Alien Season 3.
Deadline first reported the news, revealing that the episode order is set to clock in at around 12 episodes.
It's unclear at this stage whether the cabler will employ the split season strategy adopted for Resident Alien Season 2.
The Alan Tudyk drama is set to return for the back half of its season on August 10.
The series ranks among this year’s top 15 most-watched cable series and top 5 most-watched cable dramas, averaging 2.3 million viewers in L+7.
Across all airings, it has reached nearly 11 million viewers, which is an excellent figure for a cable drama.
Harry and Asta “must deal with the emotional fallout of the night all while searching for the alien baby — a search that leads to big realizations for each of them,” according to the description for the second half of the season.
