DC Studios has cast Superman and Supergirl, leaving us to wonder who's next. Lanterns appears to be taking shape, while Booster Gold is also said to be close to starting production (rumour has it the title character has secretly been cast). 

While we strongly recommend taking the following with a pinch of salt given the source, Film Front claims to have learned who the three frontrunners are to play the Dcu's Booster Gold. 

Bigger stories than this have been broken by smaller outlets in the past, and that's why we're not completely dismissing the story!

In conversation with uInterview founder Erik Meers, Letterkenny actors Michelle Mylett and Dylan Playfair reflected on the Canadian show’s final season.

Letterkenny is focused on a rural community in Ontario, where residents are primarily descendants of Irish immigrants who sought refuge from the devastating Great Famine. Cliques exist throughout the community, from Hicks to Skids to Hockey Players. Nearly every episode begins with a textual introduction that sets the stage with, “There are 5000 people in Letterkenny. These are their problems.”

When asked for favorite on and off-screen moments, Mylett shared, “When we did the Mother Hutchins scene around the dining room table… it’s just so deeply unsettling and crass, and we were laughing so hard, and the crew was laughing, it was just one of those ones where you’re like, ‘Oh this might piss some people off but it’s definitely going to make an impact one way or another.

How are you now? It’s the end of an era for the cast of Letterkenny, a beloved Canadian sitcom focusing on the hicks, skids, hockey players, and degens of rural Ontario. Apple TV Plus announced that “The Afterparty” will premiere on Jan. 28 with three episodes. The following five episode will debut weekly on Fridays.

The series is an ensemble comedy about a murder mystery set at a high school reunion. Each episode explores the alibi of a different character with visuals and film references to match each of their perspectives. Stars include Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou and Dave Franco.

Chris Miller serves as creator, director and showrunner, and executive produces with Phil Lord through their production banner Lord Miller. Anthony King also executive produces, and Lord Miller’s vice president of television Aubrey Lee serves as a producer. “The Afterparty” is produced by TriStar TV and Sony Pictures Television as part of Lord and Miller’s five-year overall deal.

Fans of Letterkenny will get a holiday treat from Hulu this year: The comedy’s ninth season is set to drop on Saturday, Dec. 26, the streamer announced Wednesday.

Season 9 spans seven episodes, all of which will drop on the show’s release date. Per Hulu’s official synopsis, the new installments will feature Michelle Mylett’s Katy taking her “scorched earth dating strategy” back to Letterkenny, while Gail (Lisa Codrington) gets some action of her own. Meanwhile, the Hockey Players learn about Judaism, “and the whole town gets really into sleepover activities like movies, board games and girl talk.”

The thing about romantic comedies is that they can create a false impression of how dating works. It's one thing to enjoy them on the screen, but carrying that level of optimism into real life is, whilst endearing, liable to lead to disaster. Bray (Chris Ball) sees himself as the hero of that kind of film, somebody for whom everything is destined to work out, even though the guy of his dreams is straight, uses a Christian dating portal and is under the false impression that Bray is a girl.

Bray's plan was to meet Shawn (Dylan Playfair) at the upcoming Summerland music festival, where, he was sure, he could persuade him to explore a hidden attraction to men. He was planning to travel there with his best friend, Oliver (Rory J Saper). The setup posits three Gen Z young adults – straight couple Stacey (Maddie Phillips) and Oliver (Rory J Saper) with Oliver’s best friend, newly out gay man Bray on a roadtrip from Washington state to California to attend a desert-set music festival called Summerland, which looks like a cross between Burning Man and Coachella. Exclusive: Letterkenny, the cult Canadian comedy that airs on Hulu, has found success on the live touring circuit over the last couple of years. Now the companies behind the tour are launching a live touring entertainment business.

New Metric Media, which produces the series and the Letterkenny Live! tour, and its partner Canadian agency The Feldman Agency have formed Tourbo. The new company will focus on developing live shows and licensing popular TV, online and podcast brands for the road.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival has shifted its dates backwards for its 36th annual event, which will now take place from March 31 to April 10, 2021.

The festival, which typically occurs in January and is a key stop for awards campaigns, made the announcement Wednesday, two days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences postponed the 93rd Academy Awards telecast by two months to April 25, 2021. The Sbiff had previously been set for Jan. 27 – Feb. 6, 2021.

The team behind Canadian cult comedy Letterkenny are looking for international hicks, skids and hockey players as they search for global remake deals.

New Metric Media, which produces the comedy, and production partner Bell Media, have brought former Electus and Global Road Television exec Eli Shibley on board to lead these format partnerships.

Shibley, who founded Major Film & Television, is looking to close format deals in territories including Latin America, Nordics, Spain, Benelux, Russia, Ukraine, and Cis. This comes after New Metric Media and WildBrain closed a recent German format deal with Studio’s Imago TV Film und Fernsehproduktion.

Shibley previously managed international co-productions, partnerships, and distribution for Global Road Television and before that he was the Senior Vice President of International Distribution and Co-Productions at Ben Silverman’s Electus.

Disney Channel’s premiere of the musical Descendants 3 drew 8.4 million total viewers in Live+3 ratings to rank as the top show across all of television on Friday night. It also was cable’s highest-rated program since 2017’s Descendants 2 in several key young demos.

The threequel — which was dedicated to the memory of its star Cameron Boyce, who died last month — ranked No. 1 on Saturday in every demo Disney Channel tracks. Per Nielsen, it was the top-rated telecast on all of cable in two years among kids 6-11, tweens 9-14, girls 6-11 and girls 9-14.

In July 2017, Descendants 2 premiered to 8.6 million total viewers for Disney Channel and 21 million across six Disney-owned networks including ABC in L+3. The original Descendants did even better for its July 2015 bow. All three pics in the franchise soared in L+3 over Live+same day.

Cameron Boyce‘s Descendants director is paying tribute to the late actor on social media, recalling his “immeasurable talent” and “kindness and generosity.” Boyce died on Saturday from an ongoing medical condition. He was 20.

“My Love, Light and Prayers go out to Cameron and his Family,” director Kenny Ortega shared on Instagram late Saturday. “Cameron brought Love, Laughter and Compassion with him everyday I was in his presence. His talent, immeasurable. His kindness and generosity, overflowing. It has been an indescribable honor and pleasure to know and work with him. I will see you again in all things loving and beautiful my friend.

Disney Channel staple Cameron Boyce, whose credits included playing Cruella de Vil’s son in the Descendants movies, has died. He was 20.

Boyce also starred on Disney Channel’s Jessie from 2011 to 2015. He made appearances on a number of other Disney series, including Liv and Maddie, Bunk’D and Austin & Ally.

“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” a spokesperson for the Boyce family told ABC News. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.

The Kelly Oxford film, which will begin production later this month in Los Angeles, tells the story of a wild young woman — played by Jessica Barden — whose life unravels after dropping out of college, moving in with her parents and being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. It’s based on the essay “No Real Danger” from Oxford’s second book, “When You Find Out the World Is Against You.”

Hulu announced that it has acquired the exclusive U.S. rights to the cult hit Canadian comedy series, meaning when the seventh season debuts on Oct. 14, it will do so as a Hulu original, as will all future seasons of the show. Hulu already had the rights to the show’s past seasons.

Created by and starring Jared Keeso, the half-hour comedy revolves around the inhabitants of the fictional town of Letterkenny, Ontario. It focuses on the different groups who make up the town, namely the hicks, skids, Christians, and hockey players. In addition to Keeso, the series stars Nathan Dales, Michelle Mylett, K Trevor Wilson, Dylan Playfair, Andrew Herr, Tyler Johnston, Evan Stern, Mark Forward, and Tiio Horn. Hulu is launching Canadian comedy Letterkenny on October 14 as the cult hit segues into a Hulu Original for its seventh season.

The comedy, which is set in a small rural Canadian community featuring hicks, skids and hockey players, debuted last Julu on the digital platform with Hulu picking up all six seasons of the New Metric Media-produced show as an acquisition.

Season seven marks the first run to become a Hulu Original with the company taking exclusive U.S. streaming rights to all upcoming seasons of the show. The deal was done by New Metric Media and Dhx Media. It airs on Bell Media’s Crave in Canada.

Created by and starring Jared Keeso, the half-hour comedy revolves around the dustups Wayne (Keeso) and his pals get into with their small-town rivals. For the hicks, skids and hockey players of Letterkenny, getting your ass kicked is a legitimate concern on a day-to-day basis.

Disney Channel has officially set a date for its third trip to Auradon: Descendants 3 will premiere Friday, Aug. 2 at 8/7c, the network announced today.
