Though an quintessentially British movie, Peter Rabbit was in fact directed by an American, in the form of Easy A helmer Will Gluck. To mark the film’s March 16th release we sat down with the filmmaker as he discusses with us how he went about achieving that inherent British quality.
He began by discussing his own personal relationship with the Beatrix Potter books, and why he felt there had never been a Peter Rabbit movie before now. He speaks about the limitless possibilities that filmmakers have when working with computer animation, and exactly how it worked using a CGI protagonist in a live action landscape.
He then went on to discuss the wonderful cast he has assembled, which features the likes of James Corden, Daisy Ridley and Domhnall Gleeson, while we couldn’t help but ask about his thoughts on the controversial scene where the latter’s character is...

It feels like a mere matter of time before Elizabeth Debicki is a household name. The talented Aussie actress, best known for her roles in The Great Gatsby and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is now lending her vocal talents to the world of Peter Rabbit, where she plays the character Mopsy.
Though it’s her future projects which have us intrigued, and when we had the pleasure of interviewing Debicki we discussed them all. We began by chatting about the challenges of voice acting, and whether she grew up as a big fan of the Beatrix Potter books, while she comments on the joy in making a film that can be enjoyed by all members of her family, no matter the age.
Then we got into her future work, discussing her role in Steve McQueen’s eagerly anticipated Widows, while she tells us what it was like embodying the role...

He’s starred in Harry Potter and Goodbye Christopher Robin (and his dad Brendan was in Paddington 2) – so needless to say Domhnall Gleeson is keeping up his family’s commitment to treasured British literature, as he now plays the lead in Will Gluck’s Peter Rabbit, based on the much loved books by Beatrix Potter.
We sat down with Gleeson to discuss his own personal relationship with the books, and what it was like to work opposite a CGI co-lead (voiced by James Corden). This leads onto a discussion about the craft of acting and how much it changes from drama school, and we get a comment on the recent controversy surrounding the film and it’s infamous ‘blackberry’ sequence, when Gleeson’s character is pelted by the aforementioned fruit despite being allergic to them.
Finally we discuss his forthcoming role in Lenny Abrahamson’s The Little Stranger, as...
