Veteran episodic director Tim Southam (One Piece) has joined Season 3 of Foundation, the Apple TV+ series from Skydance TV. He will be taking over directing duties from series writer/executive producer David S. Goyer.
As Deadline reported, this is one of changes implemented by the series as part of efforts to bring the budget levels down, which led to a delay in the Season 3 restart of production.
Southam will complete Episodes 301-303, which Goyer had started. Approximately 80% of 301 is in the can; the other two episodes are approximately 50% half finished.
Filming is slated to begin March 6 in the Czech Republic capital Prague and four Polish cities, the capital Warsaw as well as Kraków, Lublin and Katowice.
Goyer will continue to write and executive produce from Los Angeles.

‘Young Sheldon’ and ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ return this week with new episodes, and there’s plenty more debuting on top streaming services as well!
The sports fan in your life is going to have a hard week this week. The Super Bowl is officially over, and now that the NFL won’t be back until September, some fans are forsaking sports altogether until they can watch football again. Others already have the 2024 NCAA March Madness basketball tournaments circled on their calendar, but that event is weeks away.
It’s also important to note that there are plenty of non-sports fans out there who are also on the hunt for something new to watch. As per usual, however, The Streamable is here to give you a list of new shows and movies coming to streaming services each and every day this week, so no one is without a new favorite to watch.

A space opera is a delicate balancing act. In its later seasons, “The Expanse” found a way to keep each individual storyline rich and memorable while maintaining a solid overall arc in masterful fashion. With “The Expanse” concluded, “Raised by Wolves” canceled and the “Battlestar Galactica” re-reboot on ice, there are few shows left that dare to tackle science fiction on an intergalactic scale.
The Apple TV+ drama “Foundation” is well on its way to carving its own space in this niche, but still lacks the writing finesse that brought “Andor” so much critical praise last year.
Based on the iconic science fiction book series written by Isaac Asimov, “Foundation” took major creative liberties from its source material to adapt a famously unadaptable series with a massive, time-bending scale to television. Its first season received mixed reviews, and the second season more or less continues on that same trajectory.

While "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" got all the attention for being the most expensive TV show in history (and was -- deservedly! -- praised for actually putting that money on screen with its massive settings), there is another show that is just as visually impressive and expansive — the Apple TV+ series "Foundation."
While we wait for "Dune: Part Two" to bring back desert power and giant worms, "Foundation" is the seminal sci-fi book adaptation to watch. Based on Isaac Asimov's magnum opus of the same name — which actually inspired Frank Herbert to craft the tale of Paul Atreides — "Foundation" is a true sci-fi epic, the likes of which we haven't gotten in decades. The show looks simply stunning, with vast worlds and gorgeous alien locations.

It's been almost a year since we heard anything about Season 2 of Apple TV's giant, lavish adaptation of Isaac Asimov's Foundation novels. But with that second season headed our way this summer, prepare for new crises as the story continues.
The focus of this first footage is very much on Lou Llobell's Gaal Dornick, the loyal recruit to Jared Harris' Hari Seldon and his campaign to save civilization in the wake of a coming imperial collapse.
Of course, the current Emperor, Brother Day (Lee Pace) is in no way ready to listen to Seldon's theories, and there's also the small matter of a giant conflict for control of the universe as chaos reigns and the Second Crisis looms for the Foundation.
Along with the returning likes of Llobell, Pace, Harris, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann and Cassian Bilton, we can expect to see Ben Daniels, Holt McCallany,...

The first season of “Foundation” ended in Nov. 2021, it’s now 2023. So you’re forgiven if you’d forgotten this beautiful show exists. Consider yourself reminded, as Apple TV+ announced Wednesday the series — adapted from the groundbreaking science fiction novels by Isaac Asimov — will return for its second season this summer.
Of course, we don’t know precisely when this summer, but there’s also a neat first teaser for “Foundation” Season 2 to tide you over. You can watch it above right now.
It’s mostly vibes of course, but as you can see, Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey) and Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell) are still really worried about where things are headed. And yes, the latest Brother Day clone of Emperor Cleon is still the most handsome despot in the galaxy, which is exactly what you’d expect since he’s played by Lee Pace.

When the party on the boat takes a sudden turn for the worse, it's clear that either Ben or Lexie is a dangerous liar.
