“Project Runway All Stars” season 6 began with 16 designers, but now it’s down to the final 3: Fabio Costa, Stanley Hudson and Anthony Williams. The judges narrowed it down in the penultimate episode of the season, “History in the Making,” in which the final four contestants were put through the ringer to qualify for a spot in the finale. Ultimately, Ken Laurence narrowly missed the cut and was eliminated from the competition in fourth place. But who among the remaining three most deserves the title? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

He came so close, but Ken Laurence couldn’t quite reach the finish line on “Project Runway All Stars.” In the penultimate episode of the season, “History in the Making,” the designers had to jump through multiple hoops to earn a spot in the finale. In the end Fabio Costa, Stanley Hudson and Anthony Williams made it through, while Laurence was left by the wayside. Do you think the judges made the right decision, or did they eliminate the wrong contestant? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

We’re in the home stretch for “Project Runway All Stars” season six. On Thursday night, March 29, the final four designers competed for the penultimate time before the champion is decided in the April 5 finale. In “History in the Making” Stanley Hudson, Fabio Costa, Ken Laurence and Anthony Williams visited the Smithsonian in Washington DC to create six-piece collections. So who advanced to the finale, and who was history? Find out below in our live blog with minute-by-minute developments and commentary.
Going into this literally “historic” episode all four designers seemed evenly matched. They had all won multiple design challenges over the course of the season: three for Stanley, and two apiece for Fabio, Ken and Anthony. And all of them had stumbled at least once with a low score from the judges: Fabio was one of the bottom designers in one previous challenge, while Stanley and Ken each scored poorly twice,...

Our users have been predicting who will win “Project Runway All Stars” season six since the competition began in January, but there has been no stable consensus about the front-runner, even now with only four designers left. The lead keeps changing hands, and that’s true yet again as we head into the penultimate episode of the season, “History in the Making.” Now Fabio Costa has the advantage.
When you combine the predictions of all Gold Derby users Costa gets leading odds of 10/9. This is his first week on top of our predictions. Going into episode 11, “Nina’s Crushing It,” we thought Stanley Hudson had the edge, and from episodes 6-10 Anthony Williams was out front. So what changed? Perhaps it’s his consistency. He hasn’t won a design challenge since episode five, “Fashion’s New Superheroes,” but he has gotten high scores in four other challenges, including the...

You’d think winning a design challenge on “Project Runway All Stars” would be a good thing, but it might also be the kiss of death in the late episodes of season six. Edmond Newton won episode 10, “Rock Your Face Off,” only to be eliminated the very next week in episode 11, “Nina’s Crushing It.” Will the same fate befall Ken Laurence? He won the “Crushing It” challenge, but now he’s predicted for elimination in episode 12, “History in the Making.”
Laurence gets leading odds of 21/20, which translates to a 48.84% chance of elimination, so really it could go either way. Those odds are based on the combined predictions of “Project Runway” fans we poll every week for their picks in our predictions center. So why would we think the judges would send him home so soon after winning his second challenge of the season (he also won “Perfect Pairings” jointly with Fabio Costa)? Well,...

Edmond Newton finally won his first design challenge on “Project Runway All Stars” season 6 in episode 10, “Rock Your Face Off,” only to be eliminated the very next week in episode 11, “Nina’s Crushing It.” Did he deserve such a cruel twist of fashion fate? Alas, according to our readers, he did: two-thirds of respondents in our poll (67%) thought he deserved to get the boot. Scroll down to the bottom of this post for our complete poll results.
“Nina’s Crushing It” brought out guest judge Nina Garcia, who challenged the designers to create resort-wear looks based on different levels from the “Candy Crush Saga” mobile video game. There were only five contestants left, so the judges critiqued everyone, with three of them getting high scores and two of them — Newton and Anthony Williams — getting low scores.

There have been unusual design inspirations on “Project Runway” before. Just this season on “All Stars” the contestants have distressed their looks with razors and blowtorches, made ball gowns out of literal balls, and even designed a look for cartoon character Betty Boop. So naturally in episode 11, “Nina’s Crushing It,” it was time for the designers to apply their skills to resort wear inspired by the “Candy Crush Saga” mobile video game. So how did Edmond Newton, Stanley Hudson, Fabio Costa, Ken Laurence and Anthony Williams do on the road to the finale on April 5? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute updates.
The pressure on the final five designers was high enough given the high level of competition this late in the game — all of them had won at least one design challenge up to this point. But this week they also had to impress guest judge Nina Garcia,...

Before episode 10 of “Project Runway All Stars,” “Rock Your Face Off,” Edmond Newton had gotten four low scores in five weeks from the judges, so we thought he was at risk of elimination. It turned out he was just a late bloomer. Not only did he survive the rock-and-roll design challenge, he won it — his first victory of the season, and it was desperately needed. But will he be able to bask in the glow of the judges’ approval for a while? Maybe not. Our users think those fickle judges will push Newton out the door right after showering him with praise. Do you agree?
Every week we poll “Project Runway” fans for their predictions, and as of this writing Newton gets leading odds of 6/5, which translates to a 45.18% chance of elimination. But would the judges really be so quick to send him home after he finally proved his mettle?...

For the first time in “Project Runway” history — including both “All Stars” and the original series — the final five designers are all men: Edmond Newton, Fabio Costa, Anthony Williams, Stanley Hudson and Ken Laurence. That was a statistically improbable outcome given that women outnumbered men nine-to-seven at the start of the season. The only men eliminated were Carlos Casanova and Joshua McKinley. So we asked our readers what they thought of the lopsided victory for the male designers. Did the judges get it right, or did the women deserve better? Scroll down for our complete poll results at the bottom of this post.
Our respondents actually thought the judges did a good job picking the final five. A slight majority (53%) said the remaining designers really are the best of the best. That’s a little surprising given how passionately our readers have disagreed with some eliminations, including Amanda Valentine and Helen Castillo.

On Episode 13 of Project Runway All Stars, the finalists had to create an eight piece collection in four days. Dom, Ken and Kini had to use the view at the top of the One World Trade Center and the city as a whole as their inspiration. While Dom was crowned the season winner, each collection had its highlights. Here I?ve chosen the top three looks from each of the three collections. Tell me your thoughts on the winner and the losers in the comments.

Season five of "Project Runway All Stars" wrapped up its run on Thursday night, following a showdown between the top three designers: Ken Laurence, Dom Streater, and Kini Zamora. The trio was tasked with creating an eight-look collection inspired by New York City, in four days' time (yep, you read that right -- only Four days). So who reigned supreme?
If you've been following her late-season surge, then it probably came as no surprise that Streater sewed up the win, becoming the first female to claim the "All Stars" crown in the show's history. Though Zamora was the odds-on favorite -- and wowed the judges with a showstopping collection that featured some crazy silhouettes -- he ultimately was no match for Dom and her handpainted prints (particularly that gorgeous, Monet-esque first one). Zamora came in second place, and Laurence came in third.

Three designers remained atop Thursday’s Project Runway All Stars season finale, but only one would be named the boss… by the Boss herself, Alyssa Milano.
Ken Laurence (from Project Runway Season 12), Dom Streater (also Season 12) and Kini Zamora (Season 13) went thread-to-thread in the season’s final challenge: to create collections inspired by New York City.
Dom’s collection, inspired by the “shock to her senses” she experienced when she first came to New York, received mostly positive reviews from the judges; Isaac Mizrahi even admitted to getting “emotional” over her work. The majority of the panel, including guest-judge Debra Messing...

After ousting ten other All Star designers, it's Dom, Ken and Kini left to duke it out as the final three to see who will be the winner of Project Runway All Stars Season 5. They're all so different with such creative design aesthetics that no matter who wins, we're sure to have a great final runway showing. Let's get to it!

TV Worth Watching
"The Good Wife" (Sunday on CBS at 9 p.m.)
This is it. The end of an era. After seven seasons of heartbreak (she'll always love you, Will!), headaches, incredibly sharp writing, and powerful performances from Julianna Margulies down to the many amazing guest stars, Alicia Florrick's story is coming to an end on May 8. The series finale, appropriately titled "End," was written by showrunners Robert and Michelle King, and directed by Robert King. Margulies told Entertainment Weekly the finale will be "satisfying, uplifting and sad." The showrunners have Not shot down that Josh Charles return rumor, so here's hoping for some kind of flashback/vision/cameo/thing. Also, here's hoping for more of this, from Alicia and Jason:

On Episode 12 of Project Runway All Stars, the designers had to use technology to create their own prints. Then they had to go to Mood to pick out yet another print to create a head-turning print-on-print garment. Kini and Dom excelled in this challenge while Ken and Sam faltered, leading the judges to decide to make an impromptu one hour challenge on the runway to determine who would go to the finale. Here are the six looks from the episode (including the two impromptu pieces from Ken and Sam) ranked from worst to best. I want to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Update: He flounced out. He flounced back in. Ken got upset and left the workroom, heading out into the street and going wherever he went. He was not seen in the workroom the next morning when the other designers returned to finish their garments. But then he just showed up again and got back to work. He explained that he got so frustrated and was on the verge of taking it out on the other designers and everyone around him, so he needed to step away and cool down. (Apparently that's Ok, in terms of the rules of the show, to just leave and come back?) Although Ken lost a ton of time on his design, and neither he nor the judges liked it much, he did not go home. Instead, Layana Aguilar was eliminated. And now the drama can continue for the rest of the season...

Daniel Franco, where did you go? Not far, apparently, 'cause he's back -- again! The very first designer ever auf-ed from "Project Runway," only to be cut early in Season 2, must be hoping the third time's the charm in "Project Runway All Stars" Season 5.
Entertainment Weekly just shared the list of new "All Stars" designers, plus the guest judges, and the premiere date: Thursday, February 11 at 9 p.m. Et on Lifetime.
This cast raises some eyebrows for a few reasons. One, they included two designers from "Under the Gunn," which EW labeled "Season 12.5." (Did you ever consider that show Season 12.5?) Also, there's no one from this past summer's Season 14 -- no Kelly Dempsey, no Edmond Newton, no anyone -- and no "Junior" designers either, which they could conceivably add if they're going to consider "Under the Gunn" PR canon. (Just bad timing, perhaps, with the shooting of this season?)

If it were up to us, "Project Runway" would never be "out," it would just play on a loop 24/7/365.
Sadly, Season 14 will say auf wiedersehen on Thursday, November 5th, so now seems like a good time to take stock and rank the previous 13 seasons, with the expectation that the 2015 season will probably fall somewhere in the middle of the pack once it's done. (Tim Gunn "hated" Season 14, but there have been worse.) Every season of PR is a precious, unique little rhinestone, but, like the judges, we have our favorites -- and now it's Our turn to be biased.
So here's our very subjective but still definitive worst-to-best ranking, which may only be challenged by a glare from Nina Garcia, an eye roll from Michael Kors, a "make it work" from Tim Gunn, or an "out" from Heidi Klum.
13. Season 11 (aka 'Teams')Maybe it seemed like a good, or at least dramatic,...

Several new twists and turns are in store for "Project Runway" viewers, as the fashion reality show is set to return for its 13th season next month.
Three former contestants -- Ken Laurence (Season 12), Alexander Pope (Season 12), and Amanda Valentine (Season 11) -- are vying to return to the series via an Instagram campaign, the winner of which will be revealed during the season premiere. That lucky designer will compete against 18 new contestants, and three people total will be sent packing before the first challenge is even revealed.
Variety reports that that challenge will involve designers "using only a trunk of fabric to create a look that reflects what their spring collection would look like if they were to present at New York Fashion Week." A handful of finalists will ultimately complete said collection to vie for the "Project Runway" crown.
A list of guest judges was also revealed. They are:...

This week on ‘Project Runway’ the final 5 designers are met with the L’Oreal challenge! Read Michael Costello’s hysterical take on Season 12 Episode 12!
Episode 12 begins and I am still Shocked from last week’s double elimination. The last 5 designers remain (ahhhhh!) on this episode, and we find out who makes it to fashion week. Make It Work!
Project Runway Season 12 Episode 12:
Another vacation? Not fair!!!! The designers head to a butterfly house for their next challenge. This week’s challenge is avant-garde, daring and experimental. This is also the L’Oreal challenge. Each designer finds inspiration from a butterfly of their choice. Love this concept. Justin gets inspiration from an albino butterfly, I can’t wait to see what he will create.
The workroom seems to be mellow? Where is the drama????? I must say I do miss Ken and Sandro. Just kidding!!!

The contestants’ textile design skills were put to the test this week as they were given the now re-occurring Hp Design challenge. Read Michael Costello’s recap on season 12 episode 11 here! This episode was a lot of fun and one of my favorite challenges, the Hp challenge! Each contestant had to design a print inspired by a local innovator. Which print did you think was the best? Project Runway Season 12 Episode 11 Recap: At first, everyone was terrified about the finals, but once Rob Le Bras-Brown of Hp Worldwide Marketing introduced the challenge, everyone forgot their fears and were excited to make their prints.
Watching the contestants meet their innovators was the best part. Everyone seemed inspired right away except for Alexander and Helen. Helen had a major breakdown in the showroom and was too nervous to design anything. Seriously, honey, just get a backbone, and get to work once in a while.
