Conservative network Newsmax has been dropped from DirecTV as of 11:50 p.m. Et on Tuesday.
DirecTV confirmed the decision, saying the network is no longer broadcast on DirecTV, DirecTV Stream or U-Verse, with the decision made due to Newsmax’s “demands for rate increases.”
“On multiple occasions, we made it clear to Newsmax that we wanted to continue to offer the network, but ultimately Newsmax’s demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base. Anyone, including our customers, can watch the network for free via NewsmaxTV.com, YouTube.com and on multiple streaming platforms like Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Google Play. We continually evaluate the most relevant programming to provide our customers and expect to fill this available channel with new content,” a DirecTV spokesperson said in a statement.

On Tuesday, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell made an appearance on Newsmax’s “American Agenda” to help the network advance disingenuous claims of “cancel culture” inspired by the recent suspension of his Twitter account.
But unfortunately Lindell — a conspiracy theorist who supported the violent insurrection incited by Donald Trump — was unable to refrain from shouting the kinds of lies that got him kicked off the social media site in the first place. And it got to the point that one of the show’s co-hosts just walked off in the middle of the interview after several unsuccessful attempts to save Lindell — and Newsmax — from himself.
Now, Lindell was banned from Twitter in late January for continuing to spread conspiracy theories and lies about the 2020 election, and when he subsequently tried to use the MyPillow account to accuse Twitter of being actively involved in that nonexistent fraud, Twitter suspended that as well.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell was a guest on Newsmax Tuesday afternoon, ostensibly to talk about “cancel culture” after being banned from Twitter.
But Lindell wanted to talk about election conspiracies, including those about Dominion and Smartmatic, the election systems companies that threatened legal action or filed lawsuits against those claiming that they rigged the election in favor of Joe Biden.
As anchor Heather Childers asked about Twitter, Lindell immediately went into “election fraud with these Dominion machines,” but then anchor Bob Sellers interrupted him.
“Mike, you are talking about machines that we at Newsmax have not been able to verify any of those kinds allegations. We just want to let people know that there is nothing substantive that we have seen,” Sellers said.
As Lindell continued to talk, Sellers went on over him, “While there were some clear evidence of some cases of vote fraud and election irregularities, the election...

It’s official: MyPillow CEO/conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell is too out there even for Newsmax.
Lindell appeared on the conservative news channel Tuesday, ostensibly to discuss cancel culture in the wake of his being permanently removed from Twitter for repeated violations of its Civic Integrity policy. But when Lindell kicked off the segment by ranting about election fraud, anchor Bob Sellers quickly began speaking over him.

Heather Childers is no longer with Fox News, having parted ways at the network after being off the air since March.
“Fox News and Heather Childers have parted ways. We wish her all the best,” a Fox News spokesperson said.
Childers had anchored the 4 Am hour of Fox & Friends First. CNN reported that on March 18, she had been visibly ill on and off the camera, as workplaces were taking precautions against the spread of the coronavirus. She returned the next day but has not been on the air since then.
In tweets later that month, Childers wrote on March 31 that she “coughed & sneezed last week on air & mentioned during a segment w a doctor the next day I went to see a dr to make sure I didn’t have a temperature or cough of type described as concern. Wanted coworkers safe. Dr said everything was normal. Haven’t been...

Heather Childers was ousted by Fox News after being benched for appearing visibly sick in March, when shows at the network were still operating out of studios in Midtown Manhattan but the coronavirus pandemic was picking up steam.
“Fox News and Heather Childers have parted ways. We wish her all the best,” said a representative for Fox News, confirming the split first reported by CNN.
Childers, who hosted the early-morning “Fox & Friends First,” hasn’t appeared on-air since March. She confirmed on Twitter that month, “Last day I was on I mentioned I had gone to a [doctor] to make sure I had no fever or cough of concern after coughing & sneezing on air. Never went to work feeling sick. I sent those results showing no temp or cough. Was then told Covid19 test would most helpful.”

Super Tuesday may stretch into early Wednesday.
The major broadcast and cable news outlets have big plans for covering a large number of primaries among 14 states, the event known as “Super Tuesday” that some anchors believe is one of the two or three most important events on the political-news calendar. “If election night, we say, is kind of our Super Bowl, this would be kind of the divisional championship,” Fox News anchor Bret Baier told Variety earlier this week.
Baier and co-anchor Martha MacCallum will lead marathon live coverage surrounding the election results from 6 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, and Fox News will also carry live programs into the wee hours of the morning, including “Fox News @ Night” with Shannon Bream and early-morning versions of “Fox & Friends First,” anchored by Heather Childers, then Jillian Mele and Rob Schmitt.
Cable-news outlets aren’t the only ones devoting a larger set of hours to the proceedings.

Fox News personality Heather Childers made an unfortunate acronym slip-up on Tuesday's “Fox & Friends First.” “The UConn Huskies are the 2014 NAACP National Champs,” Childers said, conflating the college basketball league with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Childers, of course, meant to say the “NCAA,” which stands for the National Collegiate Athletic Association. She explained on Twitter that she knows the difference and simply “misspoke.” Thanks @Dave4Golf! I immediately corrected myself. Anyone who follows me knows I love sports. Just misspoke.
