After a win at the Wells Fargo Championship last weekend, Rory McIlroy will look to capture magic once again at the 2024 PGA Championship where he won the last major of his career a decade ago. But it will be no easy feat, up against the likes of Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, and 2023 PGA Championship winner, Brooks Koepka. The first round of the 2024 PGA Championship gets underway from Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, on Thursday, May 16, and runs until Sunday, May 19. ESPN has coverage of the first two rounds, while CBS will cover the third and final round.
Unfortunately, you cannot watch the 2024 PGA Championship golf tournament on Prime Video as it doesn’t carry any of the needed channels. While Prime Video has recently gotten into live programming, like hosting “Thursday Night Football” during the NFL regular season, it doesn’t have the broadcast rights to the 2024 PGA Championship.

Olympia Fields, Ill, Aug 20 (Ians) Scottie Scheffler made a bunch of birdies in his 6-under 64 that gave him a share of the lead with Matt Fitzpatrick (66) in a BMW Championship that is wide open.
Fitzpatrick looked set for the lead but fell into a tie on the 18th when he went from the bunker to the rough and after coming out from under a tree, he got to the edge of the green and then had a 5-foot bogey putt.
Scheffler and Fitzpatrick were at 11-under 199, one shot clear of Open Championship winner Brian Harman (67).
American Indian Sahith Theegala (69) needs a solid final round to move from his current projected 34th place to inside Top 30 for a second straight entry into the Tour Championships.
For almost half-dozen players the fight is to finish in the top 30 in the FedExCup that allows them to advance to the Tour Championship next week at East Lake.

NFL great Tom Brady has become a minority owner of English second-tier soccer team Birmingham City and wants to bring a winning mentality to an underperforming club.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion has partnered with the club’s holding company, U.S.-based Knighthead Capital Management, and becomes chairman of a new advisory board, Brady and Birmingham said Thursday.
“Maybe you are asking, ‘What do you know about English football, Tom?’” Brady said in a club video. “Well, let’s just say I’ve got a lot to learn. But I do know a few things about winning.”
Birmingham said Brady will “apply his extensive leadership experience and expertise across several components of the club.” That includes working alongside the sports science department to advise on health, nutrition and recovery programs.

The Wrexham effect is in full force.
Tom Brady has followed in the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney by entering the U.K. soccer business.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion has become a minority owner of Birmingham City, which plays in the second-tier Championship division. Brady entered a partnership with the club’s new owners, Knighthead Capital Management. With the deal, the former NFL star becomes chairman of a new advisory board at St. Andrew’s and, according to Knighthood co-founder Tom Wagner, will “have a direct impact on the club,” which will benefit from his knowledge.
“Birmingham City is an iconic club with so much history and passion, and to be part of the Blues is a real honour for me,” said Brady. “I’ve been part of some amazing teams in my day, and I’m looking forward to applying my perspective to create that same success here in Birmingham.

With the writers strike sowing doubt about long-term scripted entertainment, and the overall advertising market still in a downturn, Warner Bros. Discovery and other major media companies are now leaning into a form of entertainment that has proven to be resilient: Live sports.
And it is a particularly strong moment for sports at Wbd, which is fresh off the March Madness basketball tournament, at the beginning of the MLB season, and smack in the middle of the NBA and NHL playoffs.
“Our strategy in many ways is very different from other players, right? We’re not into tonnage, we’re really about picking and having the most premium sports out there,” says Luis Silberwasser, the chairman and CEO of Wbd Sports. “Whether it’s on TNT or TBS, or TruTV, it just it creates a cultural moment, right? So when these games are happening on primetime, people come to us.

Gurugram, Feb 21 (Ians) Robert MacIntyre is an elegant left-hander with a lot of grit and determination but still feels that the Dlf Golf and Country Club is going pose a stiff challenge as he sets out to win the US$ 2 million Indian Open trophy that his countryman Stephen Gallacher won at the last staging in 2019.
Saying the course would be a mental test, he added, “I would be amazed if you see double digits this week. It’s a mental test more than anything.”
Yet, MacIntyre had a hole-in-one on the 16th, which every player admits is the start of the three toughest finishing holes on any course on the Dp World Tour.

Enjoy golf? You will simply love this. And if you aren´t a fan, this can be appreciated because Full Swing puts us in the skin and lives of these pros beyond the apparent tranquility of a world that is anything but… peaceful.
Eight really entertaining chapters full of luxury, interviews, oddities and anecdotes about golfing that present this sport as a little more than mere sport and bring us close to a world that few of us were aware of, and which from now on, will be much more interesting.
In the same vein as Break Point (this one was about tennis), in this series we are taken on the great tournaments and players, also new players in another generation that leaves Tiger Woods behind, who seek to carve a space for themselves in the history of the sport.
This series is very entertaining and, above all, is not focused exclusively for golfers.

Nobody is having a better week than Paul Rudd, but Kathryn Newton’s past week comes a close second.
The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star just celebrated her birthday on Feb. 8 while promoting her MCU debut as Scott Lang/Ant-Man’s daughter, Cassie Lang. The hyper-competitive world of the PGA tour takes center stage in “Full Swing,” a new Netflix documentary series about the biggest names in professional golf. The project hails from the same creative team that turned Formula 1 racing into one of the biggest shows on television with “F1: Drive to Survive,” and features participation from golf superstars like Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Brooks Koepka. Much like “Drive to Survive,” it follows the human drama that unfolds over the course of each golf season as players travel the world to compete in various tournaments.
If “Full Swing” generates a fraction of the interest for the PGA that “Drive to Survive” did for F1, it would be a massive boost to a league that definitely needs one. In addition to pre-existing problems like an aging audience and the massive ratings drop that will inevitably come when Tiger Woods retires,...

Albany (The Bahamas), Nov 29 (Ians) Tiger Woods’ much-awaited return to competition will have to wait a little longer. The five-time Masters champ and winner of 15 major titles, who was in a devastating car crash early last year, tweeted today that foot problems caused by plantar fasciitis are “making it difficult to walk” and that he has withdrawn from the Hero World Challenge. He still plans to host the Bahamas tourney, which was set to be his first PGA Tour event after more than four months.
The condition causes a painful inflammation of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes.

The Albany (Bahamas), Nov 28 (Ians) Tiger Woods makes his long-awaited return to action this week as the 15-time Major winner competes for the first time since July at the Hero World Challenge.
Before that the only events he turned up for were the Masters and the PGA Championship. Yet, between now and the end of 2022, Woods will be seen in action at the Hero World Challenge, a high-profile event that has just 20 players, all of them barring three are inside Top-23 of the world.
Two of the other three, Kevin Kisner (31) and Corey Conners, a late replacement for the injured Hideki Matsuyama (19) add to the field. Only Woods, the host is specially ‘exempt’ at 1277, not having played since the Open and only three events for a total of nine rounds – four at the Masters, three at PGA before withdrawing and two at the Open before missing the cut at St Andrews.

Charlotte (North Carolina), Sep 26 (Ians) Korea’s Si Woo Kim, Sungjae Im and K.H Lee brilliantly produced impressive wins in the Singles session at the Presidents Cup on Sunday as a battling International Team endured a tough 17.5 – 12.5 defeat to the United States Team.
A fourth Korean, the young sensation Tom Kim lost to Max Homa right at the end, after earlier securing two points for his team and winning the hearts of the crowds.
Si Woo Kim produced a stunning 1-up victory over World No. 7 Justin Thomas in the top match at Quail Hollow Club and his success was emulated by Im’s 1-up triumph over Cameron Young and Lee’s 3 and 1 domination of Billy Horschel.
Another great result for the Internationals, when Colombian Sebastian Munoz beat World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler 2 and 1.

Charlotte (North Carolina), Sep 21 (Ians) Veteran star Adam Scott has touted rookie Tom Kim as the International Team’s “little secret weapon” as they look to upset the odds against a power-packed United States in the Presidents Cup which begins on Thursday.
The 42-year-old Scott, who is making a record 10th appearance at Quail Hollow Club but has yet to be on a winning team, thinks the young Korean could be one of the stars this week.
“I think young enthusiasm, and he’s a confident young kid,” Scott said about the 20-year-old, who is one of four record Koreans on the team.
“Tom could be our little secret weapon. He’s won on the PGA Tour, and this is the next challenge in his career. He’s obviously good enough to do it on the big stage. This is his first real opportunity.
