Elon Musk is continuing to antagonize the public broadcasters
On Monday, the Twitter owner decided to troll the CBC by changing its tag on the platform to read “69% Government-funded Media.”
In a tweet, Musk explained that he had the label changed after the Canadian broadcaster had clarified that they are “less than 70% government-funded.”

Later on Monday, the CBC announced that it would be pausing its activities on Twitter, explaining, “Our journalism is impartial and independent. To suggest otherwise is untrue.”

Beleaguered by a brownface scandal, swirling accusations of corruption, and an embarrassing trip abroad, Canada’s Justin Trudeau clung to power after Monday’s election, remaining prime minister even as his Liberal party lost at least 30 seats and its majority in Parliament.
Liberals retained 157 seats on Monday, down from the 184 seats they secured in the 2015 election that transformed Trudeau into an international star. The results leave the party 13 seats short of the majority it would need to pass the agenda its members campaigned on, such banning assault weapons and to...

Canada’s Prime Minister and one-time Rolling Stone coverfeature Justin Trudeau has positioned himself as the free world’s anti-Trump — a leader who doesn’t seek to build walls to keep out refugees, but has embraced the resettlement of 25,000 Syrians in Canada.
His woke brand of politics celebrates diversity. So it comes as a shock that the 47-year-old liberal politician is now apologizing for appearing in racist brownface makeup at an “Arabian Nights” themed party in 2001, when he was a teacher at a private school in Vancouver.

Cinema The characters in the remake will deal with the social, political and cultural issues relevant in today’s times. Tnm StaffThe official remake of Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai?, a 1980s cult classic starring Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil is all set to hit the screens on April 12, 2019. A modern take on its original version, the remake features a stellar cast which includes Nandita Das, Manav Kaul and Saurabh Shukla. Much like its original version, the remake which is written and directed by Soumitra Ranade of the Jajantaram Mamantaram fame, will explore the theme of personal and societal struggles in today’s times. The '80s film dealt with the common man’s anger in the face of continued political, social and cultural breakdowns. He is angered by the rampant corruption, the ruling political class and the hypocrisy. But most importantly, he is angry at himself for being powerless.
