The ‘Downton Abbey’ star and his wife of 25 years have decided to call it quits, according to multiple reports.
“Downton Abbey” actor Hugh Bonneville and his wife, Lucinda “Lulu” Williams, are separating after 25 years of marriage.
A spokesperson for the actor confirmed the news to The Sun.
The former couple first sparked split rumours when Bonneville attended “Downton Abbey” co-star Michelle Dockery’s wedding last week without Williams and sans wedding ring.
According to The Sun, Bonneville and Williams first met as teenagers but didn’t become romantically involved until his mother reintroduced them in their 30s. The 59-year-old actor married Williams in 1998 and they share one son, 20-year-old Felix.
Five years ago, the two renewed their vows at the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.

Netflix may be undervaluing their latest original thriller from Babak Anvari by unceremoniously dropping it on the streaming platform today, but we at /Film know a solid thriller when we see it and will happily pick up the mantle to sing its praises. Directed by Anvari from a script he co-wrote with Namsi Khan, "I Came By" is a twisty thriller about a young graffiti artist named Toby Nealey (George MacKay) who intentionally tags the homes of the elite, but gets more than he bargained for after breaking into the home of a high-profile judge Hector Blake (Hugh Bonneville) and discovering the truth of his hidden basement.
Now, Tobey has put himself and his loved ones in harm's way, as Blake will do anything to keep his secret under wraps. Netflix describes the film with the tagline "Privilege hides the darkest secrets," which sounds like a no-brainer hit for the streaming juggernaut.

The American state of Montana is big. Properly big. So big that we Brits can’t quite grasp how very big it is. The setting for Paramount ranch drama Yellowstone bleeds outside the page gutters of the UK mind. The US state is so many times bigger than a double decker bus or Wales that it needs a totally different scale. To really appreciate its size would require a lengthy explanation video by Professor Brian Cox involving a Rowntree’s Fruit Pastille, a snooker ball, and The O2.
Montana isn’t just big, but compared to the UK, it’s also empty. The average Brummie will inhale the recycled breath of more people in a single trip to Greggs than a Montanan will in their whole life. That place is one and half times larger than the United Kingdom but contains 66.1 million fewer people and almost three times the number of cows.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bonneville — who played Robert Crawley in all six Downton seasons, plus both of its follow-up films — suggests that the recently released New Era movie should serve as the franchise’s stopping point.

Julian Fellowes‘ hit period drama returned to the big screen earlier this year with Downton Abbey: A New Era, but could the series be returning to television? Hugh Bonneville, who played Robert Crawley, the Earl of Grantham, in the TV series and its two movie spinoffs, has responded to rumors in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. While Bonneville said he hadn’t heard about the speculation that NBCUniversal and production firm Carnival want to bring Downton back as a TV series, he did have an idea about what form a new series might take. “I suspect, if there is [a new series], it would be a reboot. An origin story or something like that,” he said. Bonneville pointed to the success of fellow period drama Bridgerton for how a new series of Downton might look. “I mean, there’s clearly an appetite for these sorts of shows. Bridgerton has been a magnificent success,...

Peacock announced Downton Abbey: A New Era will make its streaming debut on June 24.
The streamer also revealed the launch of a new 24/7 Downton Abbey channel for fans to catch up ahead of the second film’s release. All 6 seasons of the hit series, the first movie, and the one-hour special The Manners of Downton Abbey are currently available on Peacock.
A New Era follows the Crawley family as they welcome a film crew at Downton much to the chagrin of patriarch Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville). He was left with no other option in the matter as the palatial dwelling is in desperate need of a new roof and repairs that will be more than covered financially by the production.
With Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) left in charge of Downton and working closely with producer Jack Barber (Hugh Dancy), the family heads to the south of France to uncover a...

The beloved drama series “Downton Abbey” now has a second feature film (“Downton Abbey: A New Era”) ready to rake in a fortune. It’s been over a decade since it burst upon the television scene, so we’ve recently revisited the wonderful world of the British historical drama to rank the greatest 25 episodes in the photo gallery above. It’s true that this series is a melodrama, perhaps even a glorified soap opera. But its central theme is change, and how real-life historic events, as well as personal joys and crises, affect the fictional aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in England during the pivotal years 1912-1926.
The six seasons of “Downton” begins with the sinking of the “Titanic” in April of 1912, and the impact it has on the Crawley family, who has presided over the estate for generations. Several stories swirl at once, with dramas surrounding both the...

Julian Fellowes is gearing up to release his latest period drama, HBO’s The Gilded Age, on Jan. 24, and he’s teasing viewers could see a Downton Abbey crossover.
“I’ve learned this much, never say never. I’ll stick with that as my answer,” Fellowes told Deadline with a smile regarding the crossover.
Downton Abbey fans would not take the cheeky grin lightly. Such a crossover is possible and would make perfect sense as it pertains to Downton character Cora Levinson Crawley (Elizabeth McGovern), an American heiress who marries British blue blood Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham (Hugh Bonneville). Though she was born in Cincinnati, Cora revealed she has an aunt in New York that was still alive in 1914.
Possible aunts include Jeanne Tripplehorn’s mysterious Sylvia Chamberland or Carrie Coon’s new money honey, Bertha Russell.

A wedding, ex-lovers, and a French getaway: What could go wrong? Just one week after the teaser trailer for Downton Abbey: A New Era, the sequel to the 2019 Downton Abbey big screen debut, premiered, fans received another surprise sneak peek at the “grandest year” with the Crawleys on November 15. “Years ago, before you were born, I met a man,” the Dowager Countess (Dame Maggie Smith) tells her family. “And now I’ve come into the possession of a villa in the south of France.” With that, Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville), Lady Mary Talbot (Michelle Dockery), Cora Crawley (Elizabeth McGovern), and Edith Pelham (Laura Charmichael) jet off to the luxe estate. “And without that I say goodnight and leave you to discuss my mysterious past,” the Countess quips. The Focus Features film premieres in theaters on March 18, and audiences are anticipating a “poignant” death, courtesy of series creator Julian Fellowes, as The Sun previously reported.

In news that should surprise absolutely no one, the Downton Abbey movie is insanely luxurious to look at - Mary and Edith's intricately beaded gowns! The lavish dinners! The elaborate ballroom dancing! But actually filming the latter scene wasn't as glamorous as it might appear, according to the cast.
In our exclusive, behind-the-scenes featurette from the film - which arrives on digital on Nov. 26 and on Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 17 - Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley), Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), and Allen Leech (Tom) sat down to discuss all the pain and hijinks that went into filming that "rather splendid" dance sequence.
"I kept saying to Hugh as we danced, 'Don't show them the pain!' Our feet kept crashing into each other," McGovern said of her scene partner. "Cora was also barking out instructions, which you won't be able to see in the movie.

When you think of Downton Abbey, stunning gowns, elegant estates, and sibling rivalries probably come to mind. Rap and hip-hop superstar Cardi B probably doesn't. Nevertheless, Lily Singh decided to create a mash-up for the ages during the most recent episode of her talk show, A Little Late, by having Downton cast members Elizabeth McGovern, Allen Leech, and Hugh Bonneville - who were there to promote their new film - recite some of the rapper's lyrics in character. The result? Hearing Bonneville saying "I like boardin' jets, I like mornin' sex, woo," in a very posh accent. Instant gold.

Fans of the highly-praised British historical TV series will welcome the return of Downton Abbey but this return to the lavish, high-fashion1920s and the entertaining aristocratic Crawley family, and their equally-entertaining resourceful servants, delivers delights for those who are not familiar with the popular show as well. The movie picks up not too long after the end of the series, as the Crawley family prepares for an overnight visit by the king and queen, a treat that sends everyone, upstairs and down, scrambling to make sure everything is perfect. The royal visit creates a focus to revisit the characters, and once again experience the show’s mix of snappy dialog, colorful personalities, and social commentary in a time of momentous change.

“Downton Abbey” holds the record as the most-nominated international show at the Emmy Awards with 69 nominations and 15 wins — and now, it stands a chance to nab an Oscar.
More than three years after the beloved series signed off the air following six critically-acclaimed seasons, “Downton Abbey” is making its big-screen debut.

Downton Abbey fans only have to wait a few more weeks to find out what the Crawley family has been up to since the television series concluded stateside in 2016.
Ahead of the film version’s September 20 release, some of the team behind the Focus Features drama sat down for interviews for this weekend’s edition of Parade magazine. One of the topics that came up for discussion was the challenge of bringing the expansive cast back together.
