Exclusive: Channel 4 bosses will take home reduced bonuses in 2024 as 250 staffers are laid off.
Deadline can reveal that the vast majority of Channel 4 staff will receive a bonus this year around half the level of 2023, including CEO Alex Mahon, content boss Ian Katz and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Allan. The trio will see their pay reduced by around 30% to 40% from last year’s record highs, we are also told.
The decision on bonuses was recently rubberstamped by the network’s Remuneration Committee and a Channel 4 spokesman told Deadline the bonus was calculated from the network’s “annual targets, remit and business goals.” This decision to award them bonuses was made in the past few weeks as the redundancy program has been in full flow – the biggest such program initiated by the broadcaster for 15 years.

Given how vast Elden Ring is, the game’s lore is notably one of the biggest attractions for both fans of the Soulslike games and newcomers dipping their feet in a world of pain. Regardless of individual experiences, there’s a shared sense of mystery surrounding The Lands Between.
There are characters who never give you a clear answer. There are locations filled with history that came before you, giving rise to the broken world you encounter. Then, there are pieces of legacy spread around in the form of tangible objects across the world. However, here are three of the most curiosity-invoking mysteries in these lands.
Note: Minor spoilers for Elden Ring

Starz has officially ordered “The Hunting Wives” to series with eight episodes.
Based on May Cobb’s best-selling novel of the same name, the story follows Sophie O’Neil and her family as they pack up their things and move away from the East Coast and head down south to East Texas where she’s introduced to socialite Margo Banks. Sophie falls prey to Margo’s irresistible charms and soon winds up consumed by obsession, seduction, and murder.
“‘The Hunting Wives’ is a juicy, suspenseful and sultry thrill-ride,” said Kathryn Busby, president of Original Programming for Starz. “We’re excited to continue to work with Rebecca and Erwin on this propulsive series that perfectly complements Starz’s slate of edgy, female-forward premium content.”
The news comes shortly after Starz canceled several shows including “Run the World,” Heels,” and “Blindspotting,” nearly clearing its programming slate. As Variety previously reported, all three shows...

Picking three Traits is the final part of Starfield‘s character creation process. The truth is that Traits in Starfield can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. Few are obviously helpful, and many of them are more confusing at the outset than they were perhaps intended to be. However, some Traits are ultimately significantly better than others.
Before we get into that topic, though, please note that I’m going to break this article down into multiple sections that compare comparable Traits that you can only select one of (from each category) as well as general Traits that have fewer selection restrictions. Ultimately, I’ll recommend the best overall Traits you can select in the game.
Spaced or Terra Firma?
Terra Firma – You’ve never acclimated to space. Health and oxygen are increased when on the surface, but decreased when you’re in space.
Spaced – Your body has become acclimated to space.

Exclusive: Sex Education’s Connor Swindells said he felt privileged to land the lead role in the stonking BBC One WW2 desert warfare drama Sas Rogue Heroes, and he praised director, Tom Shankland (The Serpent) “for considering me for this, because this isn’t something that comes my way.”
The six-part drama, written and created by Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight and from Kudos, is based on Ben Macintyre’s 2016 bestselling authorized wartime history of the Sas.
Swindells, proudly working-class, said that he was apprehensive about auditioning for the part of David Archibald Stirling, a Scots Guard officer and scion of a grand Scottish family with bloodlines stretching back on his mother’s side to King Charles II, and son of a WW1-decorated army general.
“I hadn’t been in those conversations for these types of roles, and it was really Tom Shankland that championed me so much. He really...

Epix is pulling the curtain back on the mostly true story of the Special Forces unit, the Sas, which was forged during the darkest days of World War II, in its latest series Rogue Heroes. TV Insider has an exclusive first look at the show from writer Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and director Tom Shankland (The Serpent), which follows the extraordinary circumstances leading to the formation of the Sas, based on Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book of the same name. As the trailer for Rogue Heroes teases, although the tone of the material may seem dark, the show departs from a typical war drama, leaning into distinctly goofy British humor. (Credit: Epix) The series, which is expected to debut this fall, centers around David Stirling (Sex Education‘s Connor Swindells), an eccentric officer who finds himself hospitalized after a training exercise goes wrong. Why did Starz turn away from the British Tudors and to the world of French Queen Catherine de Medici for their new series “The Serpent Queen”?
“Sometimes it’s because somebody’s so bad that they really make a dent in history,” Nancy Goldstone, author of “The Rival Queens,” a biography on de Medici, said. Goldstone talked to IndieWire via Zoom and explained that de Medici was not only a fierce strategist, but a brutal and bloody queen with a bevy of murders under her hat.
“The Serpent Queen” attempts to showcase de Medici’s (Samantha Morton) ruthlessness, as well as highlight the humor in a story of an unappealing young Italian woman sent to France to become Queen. Filled with fourth-wall breaks, and a joke that feels pulled directly from Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas,” “The Serpent Queen” almost feels like the anti-historical drama. But sometimes fact and fiction collide — below,...

If you were to see the trailer or basically any promotional material for “The Serpent Queen,” Starz’s new series about the infamous life of one Catherine de Medici, you’d be forgiven for assuming it’s a showcase for Samantha Morton in a historical drama with modern touches, following in the footsteps of her recent turn in “Harlots.” Even its arresting opening credits sequence, which sees Morton stride to a throne to a heavy guitar lick as snakes slither out and toward her, suggests a show preoccupied with being Edgy and Different — a show that would consider itself to be not like Starz’s many other historical drama girls, as it were.
However: as adapted from Leonie Frieda’s biography by Justin Haythe, this perception proves to be only somewhat the case. In fact, the first few episodes of “The Serpent Queen” — which premieres Sunday, Sept. 11 — feature Morton sparingly,...

Cobra Kai is constantly evolving, and that's one of many reasons it continues to thrive.
The series remains fresh and exciting with the carefully crafted blend of nostalgia with new plot points and storylines. And the groundwork that Cobra Kai Season 5 Episode 1 and Cobra Kai Season 5 Episode 2 laid for the season is promising.
If this is the season of Chozen, there will be no complaints whatsoever.
The first two installments picked up where things left off during Cobra Kai Season 4 Episode 10, and there was a significant amount of focus on Miguel, as expected, as well as the refreshing duo of Johnny and Robby on a quest to track Miguel down.
However, so much of the installments seemed to revolve around Silver's sinister plot to take over the Valley and Daniel sending in his sleeper opp in worthwhile opponent, Chozen.

While enemies and bosses are the beating heart of any Soulsborne experience, Elden Ring included, some Soulsborne characters are traditionally more powerful (and much more important) than others. In Elden Ring, few characters are more powerful, or more important, than the fabled demigods.
According to the game’s lore, demigods are to blame for nearly all of The Lands Between’s problems. Most demigods in Elden Ring serve as bosses, and it’s up to players to defeat them and claim their prized Great Runes. Generally speaking, demigods are among the toughest enemies in the game and, from a mechanical standpoint, typically serve as Elden Ring‘s “skill checks.”

Nash has history with the network; she was a guest panelist on The Masked Singer last season and was a panelist on I Can See Your Voice, the network’s other mystery talent format, and has appeared in Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Scream Queens, The Bernie Mac Show and Family Guy.
Season 4 wrapped in December with LeAnn Rimes as the winner. That season featured 16 contestants, including the show’s first duet costume with Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black as the Snow Owls,...

Everyone knows that aside from Varchie and Bughead, the real stars of Riverdale are the hot, slightly dysfunctional, parents.
Come Riverdale Season 3, the writers are finally giving the people what they want -- more screen time for the aforementioned hot parents.
Have you ever seen so many good looking dads in one little town? No, you most definitely have not. It looks like they've won the genetic lottery or something.
It's obvious we're all secretly hoping that the parent-centric episode reveals the secret to those insanely good looks.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased that this season, we’re going to learn about "a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since their younger years."
Realistically, how many more secrets can they fit within this town’s constraints? Is Alice being a former Serpent, Fp and Alice having a love child that they gave up, Hal being a Blossom and now,...

“In Haiti, there are secrets we keep, even from ourselves.” Throughout his career, Wes Craven was a filmmaker who provided countless nightmares and celluloid terrors, but there was one film that managed to haunt me in such a manner that it left numerous scars on my young psyche, and that was The Serpent and the Rainbow. Adapted from Wade Davis’ book of the same name that provided a clinical examination of Haitian voodoo, zombification, and the power of tetrodotoxin—a powerful hallucinogenic—Craven’s powerful descent into the real-life madness of Davis’ experiences is easily one of his most ambitious, and quite possibly the Master of Horror’s most introspective, efforts from his entire filmography.
In The Serpent and the Rainbow, we’re introduced to anthropologist Dr. Dennis Alan (Bill Pullman), who spends his time in remote corners of the world studying rare plants and herbs that could potentially have...

It probably says more about Ciro Guerra’s last film than this inimitable new offering (which he co-directed with his long-serving producer Christina Gallego) to suggest that fans of Embrace of the Serpent might find Birds of Passage just a little on the linear side. However, to compare the two is surely akin to comparing the varying potency of two strains of class-a hallucinogens. Set in Colombia in the 1960s, this violent, operatic, and sparsely trippy film follows the early days of marijuana trafficking in the region. Don’t worry if that all sounds a touch familiar.
Granted, we’ve grown accustomed to the world of cartels, no more so perhaps than in recent years. The thing that sets Birds apart is that Guerra and Gallego tell their fable from the perspective of the indigenous Wayuu people. Jose Acosta plays Raphayet, a self-assured bachelor who will marry a young woman...

Grab a strawberry milkshake, y’all! Riverdale Season 2 has finally dropped on Netflix, and for those of you who have yet to indulge, be warned of spoilers ahead! The following content deals with storylines from Episode 17 onward. Throughout Season 2, there were so many clues about the identity of the Black Hood, that it was pretty hard to keep up. At one point, there was a super convincing theory that Betty’s dad, Hal Cooper, had a twin who was wreaking havoc on the town. Seriously, the entire Riverdale fandom was certain the writers were pulling a Pretty Little Liars. Cliché? Yes. Convincing? Absolutely. Take a look: "Hal Cooper is related to the Blossoms, the Blossoms are known to have twins in the family, Hal Cooper has a twin brother and he is the Black Hood," one Twitter user explained. "Ever since Hal has been seeing Penelope, he has been acting Very strange,...

Warning: The following post contains spoilers from Wednesday’s Riverdale season finale.
The good news: Archie was just voted student body president! The bad news: He might have to serve out his term from a prison cell.
Riverdale‘s Season 2 finale served up plot twists like burgers and milkshakes: Hermione is the new mayor! F.P. handed over control of the Serpents to Jughead! Veronica… bought Pop’s?! (Yeah, we’re still processing that one, too.) But the most shocking twist came at the very end, when Archie was about to celebrate his victory in the school election. Sheriff Minetta...

Old foes reappeared and lives were lost in an action-packed Riverdale… but do we have to pour out a milkshake for one key character?
As Jughead rushes a wounded Fangs to the hospital, the rest of the Serpents express their sorrow over their fallen gang member by rioting all over town. (Never mind that Midge’s mom, not Reggie, was actually the one who shot Fangs.) Hiram can barely contain his glee, reassuring a rattled Hermione that “chaos is good for us.” In all that chaos, Reggie has vanished,...

Riverdale‘s Black Hood killer has been captured — we think — but this week’s winter premiere gave the gang plenty of new problems to worry about.
With no Black Hood to unmask, and no Jughead to cuddle with, Betty decides to stir up some family drama to pass the time. Her sister Polly had her twins — offscreen, for some reason — and doesn’t want any contact with their parents, so Betty thinks it’s the perfect time to track down her long-lost brother. (Remember? Alice gave birth to a...
