Is David Gordon Green trolling us? The director rescued John Carpenter’s game-changing slasher classic from the dumpster of disposable sequels by going back to the core mythology in 2018’s Halloween. He then sacrificed any goodwill that reboot earned by sidelining Jamie Lee Curtis and abandoning narrative coherence for random, unimaginative mayhem in 2021’s witless Halloween Kills. The conclusion of his trilogy, Halloween Ends, which promises the final faceoff between Laurie Strode and her psycho stalker Michael Myers, just seems to throw its hands in the air and surrender.
What starts out with a clever refresher steadily descends into self-serious trash, with laughable dialogue and plotting. But as with the last round, that’s unlikely to deter the series’ completists when the new film opens in theaters and simultaneously begins streaming on Peacock this Friday.

The "Halloween" movies have gone through so many ups and downs that, after sitting through them all, it starts to feel like even the silliest installments in the franchise rock. The one where LL Cool J plays a security guard who writes erotica and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) kills Michael a half-dozen times like a Looney Tune character? It rocks! The one where Michael Myers is nowhere to be found and there's a children's TV show that activates Halloween masks microchipped with pieces of Stonehenge, making kids' faces rot off? That rocks!
So as someone who's sat through the Cult of Thorn, "Dangertainment," and a flow chart of sequel timelines that would take an hour to explain, I feel comfortable saying that the weirder "Halloween Ends" sounds, the more entertained I am by it. The new film is ostensibly meant as the end of the trilogy David Gordon Green...

For more than three years, All Def Digital has spotlighted up-and-coming creators through an assortment of digital media, music, and television projects. Now, the network founded by hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has released its first feature film, too. The film is called Major Deal, and it is currently available for download from iTunes.
Major Deal stars Keraun Harris (also known as King Keraun) as Mike Massacre, a struggling rapper whose lyrical skills are, to put it kindly, less-than-extraordinary. With his 30th birthday approaching, Mike receives an ultimatum from his baby mama, played by Simone Shepherd: Get signed, or give up rapping forever. A trailer for the film is available on the All Def Digital YouTube channel:
