Jodie Sweetin is expressing disappointment that her upcoming film Craft Me a Romance will air on Great American Family, where her former Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure has a deal.
In a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, Sweetin said she was not aware that the rom-com would land at the cable channel, which was the subject of headlines late last year when Cameron Bure said that “traditional marriage” would be the focus of stories featured on Great American Family. This was in contrast to the Hallmark Channel, the previous home for Cameron Bure’s numerous Christmas rom-coms, having recently featured LGBTQ characters in its movies.
“Sometimes, we, as actors, don’t have control over which network buys the projects we are in nor are we a part of the process in which they get sold,” Sweetin said. “So I was very surprised to learn by reading about it...

This Sunday, you can watch The Holiday Sitter, starring Jonathan Bennett and George Krissa, based on an original story by Bennett.
It's a genuinely funny movie about Sam (Bennett), a confirmed bachelor with no interest in children, who winds up watching his niece and nephew over the Christmas holiday. Everything changes when he meets their neighbor, Jason (Krissa).
We jumped on the phone with Bennett to talk about it.
Hi, Jonathan. How are you?
I'm wonderful. How are you?
I'm good, thank you. You know, you're somewhat of a legend at Hallmark.
Oh my God. Stop it. Tell me more.
Every time I ask somebody who they'd like to work with, you're almost always at the top of their list.
You're lying to me. Now you're just flattering me. And let me tell you, flattery will get you everywhere with me, okay?
Yeah, people just really admire your work. I think that's fantastic.

Starring in a Hallmark Christmas movie today isn’t much different than appearing in Mean Girls 18 years ago, says star Jonathan Bennett: just like he did with Lindsay Lohan in 2004, he “meet cutes” an attractive single in a rom-com type setting in The Holiday Sitter.
This time, however, Bennett is making a little history: the movie debuting Dec. 11 at 8. p.m. marks the first time a Hallmark holiday flick revolves around a same-sex couple. In this case, Bennett plays a confirmed bachelor named Sam who agrees to watch his teen nephew and young niece while their parents are away. He ends up falling for Jason (George Krissa), an easy-on-the-eyes neighbor who’s far more adept at caring for kids.
“We’re doing all the classic things that we love in Hallmark movies,” Bennett tells Deadline. “We’re doing the tropes that we’ve come to love and expect from watching Hallmark movies.

If anyone would have said even five years ago, as their Christmas-movie stock began to escalate, that the Hallmark Channel would make history, folks probably would have run out to a Hallmark store and gotten you a “Get Well Soon” card. Yet here we are, on the eve of The Holiday Sitter, their first-ever Lgbqt+-led rom-com and we are so ready to don our gay apparel and get festive. Starring and executive produced by Jonathan Bennett, the Mean Girls icon who already helped Hallmark earn its rainbow stripes by costarring in the inclusive Christmas House movies, Sitter finds his workaholic bachelor Sam suddenly stuck watching his sister’s kids instead of heading to Hawaii for the holidays. Soon, though, things get merrier and brighter after he literally falls for the handsome and equally unattached neighbor Jason (George Krissa), who helps him not only keep the kids occupied but also...

It’s that time of the year that holiday movies take over Hallmark Channel (with “Countdown to Christmas”) & Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (with “Miracles of Christmas”), and we love it. We’re not the only ones, as TV Insider learned when we recently caught up with the stars of the movies on the red carpet for Hallmark Media’s star-studded kickoff of “Countdown to Christmas.” “I think we all know by now that Hallmark is about Christmas, it’s about connection,” Nadine Ellis (The Holiday Stocking) says in the video above. And, as Ashley Williams (Five More Minutes: Moments Like These) notes, it allowed people to find a connection, to feel “unified” during the pandemic, “a true time of isolation.” And these movies include stories that everyone can enjoy, as The Holiday Sitter‘s Jonathan Bennett and George Krissa share. “We love telling stories at Hallmark Channel, especially LGBTQ+ Christmas stories,...

Jonathan Bennett, who is the star of Hallmark’s The Holiday Sitter, is celebrating the channel’s “inclusive programming” by producing movies featuring an LGBTQ+ couple as the leads.
“I’m just proud to be part of Hallmark channel that is doing so much inclusive programming like The Holiday Sitter, which is an LGBTQ+ led Christmas movie,” Bennett told E! News. “I’m just so proud to be on Hallmark channel that’s making these movies for everyone because Christmas is for everyone and Hallmark channels are for everyone.”
The Mean Girls alum comments come as Candace Cameron Bure left the network in favor of Great American Family following a change in leadership. Bure also said that the movies featured under “Candace Cameron Bure Presents” would “keep traditional marriage at the core.” Her comments received backlash and celebrities like JoJo Siwa and Hilarie Burton called her out on social media.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bure was asked whether her new network home would follow The Hallmark Channel in featuring LGBTQ representation and same-sex couples in their programming.
The 46-year-old said they would not, explaining, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.
Bill Abbott, chief executive of Great American Media, then clarified, “It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends. There’s no whiteboard that says, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’ll never go here.'”

The Dwelling is also known as Bed of the Dead, and the poster is a loving homage to the Evil Dead. Promising stuff from Uncork’d Entertainment, which harks back to that “so bad it is almost good but isn’t” review I did of The Demonologist (sadly it is nothing like the Evil Dead).
Here we kick off with an old-timey satanic lynching before coming back to the present for a police controller casually explaining there has been a fire at a sex club. Jesus, some days it is tough being a cop. It is the ruffled hair, the leather jacket, the hip flask and an old photo of a girl that gets me through...

Bed of the Dead begins with a fun premise; two young couples spend the night in a sex club to indulge in some four-way shenanigans. Before anyone can barely get a shirt off, however, they find themselves stuck on a haunted antique bed where getting off now means a horrible, and delightfully gruesome, death.
Director Jeff Maher’s script does something I wouldn’t have expected, and that’s make these characters interesting. Maybe it’s because this is a Canadian movie, but our four bedridden victims are actually likable. Many horror movies confuse unpleasantness for dramatic. If the characters shout at each other enough then that must be interesting, right? But Bed of the Dead attempts to make the characters real people with fears and faults and even a little humor.

No, this is not a remake of 1977’s Death Bed: The Bed That Eats. Yes, this is a Wholly new horror story about mysterious deaths that occur because of a deadly connection to bedroom furniture. Bed Of The Dead is a real, 100% serious thriller produced by the same team responsible for Bite, so that should clue you in on the expected amount of zaniness here. Yet, I guarantee it’ll be infinitely straighter than you’re expecting, as writers Cody Calahan and Jeff Maher spend zero time fucking around with generics. This is a uniquely twisted slice of freakishly-fresh horror that makes its bed and kills in it too, never abandoning sinister chills for anything cheap, cheesy or gimmicky. This is “Wtf” horror, even with such a ridiculous premise.
