Nancy Drew capped off its bonkers second season on Wednesday with a fittingly eventful finale, and life in Horseshoe Bay will never be the same again.
A quick recap: Upon discovering that Nancy has been possessed by the wraith all season, we got some backstory on the evil little bugger — it was apparently created by one of Nancy’s descendants, Temperance Hudson, in an attempt to break through a barrier designed to keep her out of Horseshoe Bay. Severing the wraith’s hold on Nancy meant traveling to New York, where another of Temperance’s descendants was storing the very...

Hope Mikaelson might be the first character in television history who was actually relieved to catch her boyfriend sneaking off to see someone else in the middle of the night.
The paranoid tribrid kicked off Thursday’s Legacies by tailing her boyfriend during one of his midnight outings, only to learn that he’s been getting yolked with Jed. She even threw in a casual “Do you even lift, bro?” just to show how totally not freaked out she was. That is, until she noticed how much weight her sweet Muppet prince was able to haul.

A man of science and a supernatural expert came together to solve a case -- what could possibly go wrong?
Tom Swift, a character from a set of books that share a universe with the Nancy Drew novels, needed Nancy's help on Nancy Drew Season 2 Episode 15. And the result was two clashing personalities that shared undeniable chemistry.
Tom is potentially getting his own spin-off series, and this was his first introduction to this world. We will definitely be tuning in when his show premieres.
If any CW series is worthy of a spin-off, it's Nancy Drew. And "The Celestial Visitor" proved that.
Tom Swift not only brings something entirely new to this world, but he's also massively interesting just on his own.
Nancy: And you are?
Tom: Tom Swift. I was about to say I need your help, but looks like you may need mine.

Olmec is finally ready to pick on somebody his own size. The iconic Nickelodeon game show Legends of the Hidden Temple, now featuring adults as contestants, is being revived at The CW.
In addition to the aforementioned giant stone head, this “reimagining” of the classic series will also bring back other fan-favorite elements, including the Moat Crossings, the Steps of Knowledge and the Temple Run. The team names — Purple Parrots, Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, Red Jaguars, Silver Snakes and Green Monkeys — will also remain unchanged.

Jonny Quest: The Complete Original Series
Blu ray
Warner Archive
1964/ 1.33:1 / Each Episode 25 min.
Starring Tim Matheson, Don Messick
Music by Hoyt Curtin
Directed by William Hanna, Joe Barbera
Though the heartland was nearing a showdown between the Masters of War and the Age of Aquarius, things were relatively status quo in 1964, Beatles or no Beatles. Dad could still be found daydreaming over the garish macho fantasies of Men’s Action magazine while Junior was in the rec room hypnotized by Jonny Quest – a weekly cartoon show flaunting the same retro thrills found in the old man’s rags but aimed at the sandbox set.
Jonny lasted just one season, from September of 1964 to March of ‘65, but the combination of pulp fiction mayhem with junior league heroics would transfix a generation.
Jonny’s producers, William Hanna and Joesph Barbera, made their move to the small screen in 1957 when MGM shuttered...

“Sim Sim Sala Bim!”
By Raymond Benson
If you were a young boy in America in 1964, you were probably glued to the television set on Friday evenings to watch the groundbreaking, imaginative, and superbly entertaining action-adventure science fiction animated prime time series, Jonny Quest. Okay, I’m sure some girls liked the show, too (my next-door neighbors did). Given the shortage of female characters on the show, though, Jonny Quest was a program that I would bet appealed mostly to boys.
Jonny Quest is an 11-year-old all-American boy who has an awesome life. He is the son of Dr. Benton Quest, a brilliant scientist who works for the U.S. government and has a laboratory, home, and compound on an island off the coast of Florida. Their bodyguard is “Race” Bannon, an American equivalent of James Bond, sort of, although he also acts as Jonny’s tutor. Hadji, an Indian boy the same age as Jonny,...

One of the core joys of comic books for the past fifty years has been playing with other people’s toys. I’m not hugely in sympathy with that impulse myself, but I can recognize that a lot of people want to do it, either directly (by writing comics) or indirectly (by reading those comics and arguing about how it should have been done).
Alan Moore, I’m coming to think, became a famous and respected comics writer because he has that urge on a level previously unknown to man: he wants to play with everyone’s toys, all at once, together, making some massive Lego set that takes over his living room and forcing his family to quietly leave and go live with relatives. (My metaphor may be breaking down slightly.)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen stories are clearly the strongest expression of that love: they take as many...
