Exclusive: Alyssa Milano (Brazen), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Gina Torres (9-1-1: Lone Star) and Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us) have signed on for roles in the feature-length anthology Give Me an A, which links together 15 short films, in response to the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.
The film currently in post-production will have been completed within two months from the date of Roe’s overturning — which eliminated the longstanding constitutional right to abortion — in an effort to ensure this is a response and not a delayed reaction. The creators, cast and crew have made a significant effort to expedite the process in order to start a conversation with audiences about the importance of bodily autonomy and address the dysfunction of a democracy that is not protecting the needs of a majority of the population. At its best, horror seeks to move us, entertain us, scare our pants off and elicit similar kinds of thrills as roller coasters do. But for those that aim a little higher — no, not in an "elevated horror" sort of way (whatever that means), but simply in terms of ambition — there's also an added responsibility to sneak in some clever observations about our world that we've generally taken for granted, done in ways that other genres simply aren't capable of accomplishing. In other words, with copious amounts of blood, guts, and gnarly kills.
When a particular movie or show manages to hit all those pleasure centers in our impressionable brains, it elicits the kind of cathartic responses found in something like Jordan Peele's deeply provocative "Nope." When an otherwise promising piece of horror media stumbles in that pursuit, well, let's just say that things can go sideways pretty quickly.

Country music star Jimmie Allen is set to make his feature film debut with upcoming musical “Be Alright.”
“The Goldbergs’” Hayley Orrantia will co-star, with both Allen and Orrantia in the lead roles.
In “Be Alright,” which is set in New York City in the 1960s, Orrantia plays down-on-her-luck Eve. Things start looking up when she encounters an “old friend with a new mantra” played by Allen.
In keeping with Allen’s musical style, the film is set to have a country flavor. Production will kick off this month at the Warner Bros. lot.
As well as starring in “Be Alright” (which shares a title with a track from his recent album “Tulip Drive”), Allen developed the original story and will produce and co-direct the feature alongside Chris Beyrooty.
Beyrooty wrote the screenplay with Connor Martin.
Joining the team are Emmy Award-winning “Dancing with the Stars” choreographer Tessandra Chavez, who will choreograph the dance numbers,...

Introducing ‘31 Days’ A Collection Of Halloween Inspired Photo Sets By Rae Mystic, One For Each Day Of The Spookiest Month Of The Year: "What began as a photography challenge to capture 31 different halloween or horror-themed looks throughout the month of October in 2018 has now transformed into ‘31 Days,’ a physical collection of horror and spooky themed photography from renowned photographer, Rae Mystic.
“After completion I thought, ‘How cool would it be to turn it into a physical collection?’ but imposter syndrome and a global pandemic stopped me from moving forward with it,” says Rae Mystic. “But I was still growing in my craft.”
In the years since starting the project, Rae Mystic has grown into a full-time photography and production business complete with a photo house, themed rooms, and a collection of wonderful clients.
“Three and a half years later, I decided it was time to pick back up this passion project.

I seem like I say it quite regularly but I do really enjoy horror anthologies. There are obviously plenty of poor ones out there but generally if the runtime of each segment is kept short, then there’s always a good short or two in each anthology. And if you’re not enjoying one, then it’s never much of a wait until that one is over and another new story will start.
The wrap-around segment of The Red Book Ritual shows three friends playing the red book ‘game’. Kind of like a Ouija board but what they don’t know is that in the...
