Maren Morris made history Saturday night in New York City when she became the first country music artist to receive GLAAD’s excellence in media award.
During the 34th annual GLAAD Media Awards, the Grammy-winning performer was presented with the honor by Cynthia Lee Fontaine and Alyssa Edwards.
“I felt a little badass taking on Tucker Carlson for calling me a lunatic for standing up to transphobia,” Morris told the crowd while holding her trophy. “Maybe I did feel a little cool. But I don’t want to gloat. I would never insult the recently unemployed.”
The New York Hilton Midtown ballroom erupted in hoots and loud applause that made the “My Church” singer pause and smile.
The LGBTQ+ supporter famously had a war of words with the recently terminated Fox News personality when he dubbed her a “lunatic” and a “fake country music singer” during an interview with Brittany Aldean in August.

Known in some circles as the “fan favorite” award, the title of Miss Congeniality on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is a prize handed out to the queen most representative of kindness and for having strong sisterly bonds with the other girls. Up until Season 10, the award was voted on by the audience, but has since been selected by the cast of queens themselves, and is buttressed by a cash prize that has ranged from $1,500 to $10,000. There have been 14 queens awarded the title so far, nine of whom have returned to compete at least one more time, and on April 14, 2023 the next recipient will be announced at the Season 15 “Grand Finale.” Which “fan favorite” queen is Your all-time fave? Scroll through our gallery above (or click here for direct access) to see photos of the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Miss Congeniality winners.

In every grand finale of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” not one but two crowns are bestowed: one to the ultimate winner (chosen by host RuPaul Charles) and one to Miss Congeniality (chosen by her fellow queens). All week long, “Drag Race” viewers at Gold Derby have been predicting who they think will become Miss Congeniality for Season 15, and things are looking strong for Salina EsTitties and Malaysia Babydoll Foxx. Both of these eliminated queens made their mark during their time on MTV’s reality TV show and would be welcome additions to future “All-Stars” seasons.
Below are the current predictions for who our readers think will be named the “RuPaul’s Drag Race 15” Miss Congeniality and claim the special $10,000 prize. Four episodes into season nine of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” and we’ve got our first work room fight — between two of the favorite queens. When plus-size Southern belle Eureka O’Hara makes a joke about eating disorders, Brooklyn’s own Sasha Velour says she’s gone too far, and Eureka’s apology would not win any lip synchs.

As the queens are beating their faces for a daytime talk show challenge where they must interview special guest judge Naya Rivera (“Glee”), surprise returning queen Cynthia Lee Fontaine says, “Can I tell you guys about one of the disorders that I have?” To which Eureka, the only plus size queen this season who has been in the top three twice already, replies, “Eating.” “Don’t joke about that, it’s really inappropriate,” says Sasha,...

Which team are you on for RuPaul's Drag Race's finale next week? I'm so curious because for the first time I'd be happy with nearly any outcome. I suspect Kim Chi will take the crown as Bob or Naomi might too closely recall the last two winners under Clown and Fashion wings of drag respectively, and Kim Chi is a new direction.
It's always strange during the season when they take that week off before the finale. Monday rolls around and... no queens. [Scene from Nathaniel's House: "Life is empty," he cried dramatically while turning off the TV last night. And... scene.] Though Season 8 started strong and only crashed in the middle with the Snatch Game before returning to glory, we're left with (gasp) the strongest top three ever. If you'll allow a little "it's all about Me" moment, this is the only time in Drag Race herstory where my three favorite contestants all made the finals. That's like having, I don't know, your two favorite films of...
