The sacrifices Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines make for their kids are endless. “I’m not going to lie. I absolutely hate golf,” Chip recently quipped, dubbing the leisurely activity “my nemesis sport — the anti-baseball” during a round of golf with sons Drake, 13, and Duke, 9. “But you know what I don’t hate? Time well spent with these beautiful boys,” the doting dad gushed. The Fixer Upper star, 43, and his wife, 40, are ultimately driven by one thing and one thing only: their family. “Being good parents is Chip and Joanna’s first priority,” an insider exclusively assured Closer Weekly of Hgtv’s dynamic duo, who recently came under fire when a USA Today opinion piece questioned the amount of time their busy workloads allowed them with Drake and Duke and their daughters, Ella, 11, and Emmie Kay, 8. “Chip hit the roof. He spent hours ranting to Joanna about it,” the insider said of the outrageous allegation,...

Fifteen years may be the crystal anniversary, but Chip Gaines came up with something better! The former Fixer Upper star showed his wife Joanna Gaines how much he loves and appreciates her on Thursday, May 31 with the most thoughtful gift possible: a poem he wrote her! That's right, the rough-and-tumble, demo-day-obsessed handyman has a softer side, and he did fans a major favor by sharing it on Twitter. 15 years.. where’d they go15 years.. I’d like to know 15 more, to God I pray15 more just to make her dayHappy anniversary sweet girl!— Chip Gaines (@chipgaines) May 31, 2018 "15 years, where’d they go? 15 years, I’d like to know. 15 more, to God I pray. 15 more, just to make her day. Happy anniversary sweet girl!" he tweeted. Is it just us, or are you swooning too? It's no wonder Chip is smitten with his wife. On top of starting several amazing businesses and hosting a show together,...

Shortly before Fixer Upper's 2013 premiere, Clint Harp tells Closer Weekly that he bonded with Chip Gaines over ham sandwiches. "We sat on my shop floor eating them, wondering what the heck we were doing," Clint says. He'd boldly just given up a six-figure salary to pursue his dream of creating furniture when Chip and Joanna Gaines asked him to make some appearances on their TV pilot. "We had no idea what was ahead of us," Clint confides to Closer. The Gaines' show, of course, became Hgtv's top-rated program and the dynamic duo have built a media and branding empire thanks to its popularity over the past five years. Now, Clint, 40, is hoping it’s his and wife Kelly’s turn with Wood Work, which premiered in May on the Diy Network. A post shared by Clint Harp (@clintharpofficial) on Oct 10, 2017 at 11:52am Pdt "Kelly and I are excited about the possibilities,...

Hgtv’s “Fixer Upper” may be over, but TheWrap exclusively has a whole new way to view the popular Chip and Joanna Gaines home renovation series.
Our friends at Homes.com watched all 67 episodes of the entire series for us, coming up with some very cool stats. Chief among them, star designer Joanna used shiplap in 39 percent of the episodes, they found. Plus, she hired Clint Harp to build a table for 37 percent of the families featured on the five-season cable show.
In exactly half of the televised episodes, a “problem” comes up that requires a phone call to the homeowner, the study found. That issue averaged out to a $4,600 hit to the budget. Ouch.

Don't mess with Chip and Joanna Gaines! The Fixer Upper family was recently attacked after USA Today wrote a scathing story about the couple saying they don't actually spend as much time with their four, soon to be five, kids as they claim. "[They] did not get where they are by putting their family first," the publication explained. Unsurprisingly, the story didn't go over too well with Chip. A source exclusively told Life & Style that the editorial "hit a nerve" with the patriarch of the crew. "Chip was hurt, but he was more pissed than anything," the source said. "The first rule in Chip's world is don't mess with his family, and that's exactly what that writer did." A post shared by Chip Gaines (@chipgaines) on Jan 2, 2018 at 7:08pm Pst It's not like the family isn't used to criticism — after all, they were the stars of a hit reality television show.

Turns out Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are just as good at fixing up careers as they are houses. Furniture designer Clint Harp and his wife, Kelly, were struggling financially when Clint first approached Chip at a gas station in 2012. A few years and a few guest appearances on Fixer Upper later, the Harps have their own show, Wood Work, premiering May 9 on Diy. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) "I thank [Chip and Joanna] in all the different ways that I possibly can," Clint, 40, exclusively tells Life & Style. "They didn’t have to use me [on Fixer Upper]. They obviously changed things greatly for us." Clint says the Wood Work pilot was in development for three years before it became a reality for the parents of three from Waco, Texas. Now that it’s on the air, they’d be thrilled to return the favor. "Chip and Joanna are welcome on my show anytime they want,...

Fans of the Hgtv show Fixer Upper will soon have a Waco-style spin-off to enjoy. Chip and Joanna Gaines’s favorite woodworker is getting his own show on Diy Network.
Clint Harp and his wife Kelly will be the stars of Woodwork, which will spotlight the couple making wood furniture and accessories at their shop Harp Design Co. in Waco, Texas. The show debuts May 9 at 10 Et/Pt.
Harp quit a six-figure sales job to pursue a woodworking career. It wasn’t instant success, as the couple claim close to going broke, and Harp was about to give up. That’s when he fortuitously met Chip Gaines at a local gas station, which led to working with the couple just as their TV careers were taking off.
The “Fixer Upper” series recently ended its run on Hgtv, but a behind-the-scenes recap of events, Fixer Upper: Behind The Design, is still running.

They're back and better than ever! The highly-anticipated Trading Spaces reboot is set to premiere on TLC on April 7, 10 years after the original's series finale. The hit show aired on the network from 2000 to 2008, and now that it's coming back, many have wondered who's returning for the reboot. Check out the video above to see the new and improved cast of Trading Spaces — you're bound to recognize pretty much everyone! The basis of the home-design show is simple: two sets of neighbors are each given their own designer and carpenter, and they're let loose to redesign one room in the other neighbor's home — all in a 48 hour time limit and on a $1,000 budget (It's been reportedly raised from $1,000 to $2,000 for the reboot, though!). Throughout its eight year tenure, fans fell in love with many of the cast members, so luckily most of the fan favorites are returning. (Photo Credit: Getty Images...

When Patti Baker walked into her newly renovated Waco house on March 2 of last year, she thought she’d found her forever home — but life had other plans.
The mom of two appeared on the Jan. 9, 2018 episode of Fixer Upper, settling down in a beautiful bungalow designed by Chip and Joanna Gaines to be a fresh start for Baker — who relocated to Waco to be closer to her adult sons, Keith and Karl, after losing her husband of 37 years, Robert, to cancer in 2013.
Just months after taping her Fixer Upper reveal, though, Baker reconnected with the family’s former pastor.
