Updated with statement: After a story this week from Deadline’s sister publication Rolling Stone detailed allegations against Oscar-winner F. Murray Abraham, the actor has issued a statement on the matter, the text of which Deadline has confirmed with his representative.
“This is a sincere and deeply felt apology,” reads Abraham’s statement.
It goes on to reference Lionsgate’s decision last year not to bring him back for Season 3 of Mythic Quest. “Though never my intention to offend anyone, I told jokes, nothing more, that upset some of my colleagues and as a result lost a great job with wonderful people.”
It continues, “I have grown in my understanding from this experience, and I hope they will forgive me.”
Previously on April 19: The Mythic Quest team will be one key member short, with F. Murray Abraham leaving the series before it returns for Season 3.

While the number of truly great video game adaptations is tragically small, the fact of the matter is that there’s still a bit of a gold rush for familiar properties. As such, it seems that every studio and streaming service in the world is looking to adapt one video game or another.
Seriously, the number of video game adaptations currently in some stage of development is insane. You may occasionally hear about some video game adaptation popping up here and there, but it’s hard to fully grasp the extent of this movement until you see every adaptation listed in one place. As such, that’s what we’re here to do.
Before we dive into the list, though, please note that there is a truly ridiculous number of video game adaptations possibly in development at this time. That being the case, we will not only be updating this article as needed,...

New episodes of “Mythic Quest” follow Ian and Poppy at the helm of their new banner GrimPop, making a name for themselves in the video game developer world. Over at rival studio Mythic Quest, tensions brew and loyalties are tested.

Apple today unveiled a first-look teaser for the third season of its critically acclaimed workplace comedy Mythic Quest, which is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ this fall.
The series created by Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, molding heroes and creating legends, but the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office. While its second season watched as the company’s creative director Ian Grimm (McElhenney) and co-creative director Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao) departed to pursue their own venture, today’s teaser promised that this decision has actually “changed nothing.”
This time around, Ian and Poppy will continue to navigate the gaming world and their partnership at the newly formed GrimPop Studios, with Dana (Imani Hakim) being forced to play mediator to her bosses’ incessant bickering. Back at Mythic Quest, David...

From “Pokémon Detective Pikachu,” which pulled in $433 million globally in 2019, to “Sonic the Hedgehog,” which grossed $319.7 million worldwide last year before the pandemic shut down theaters, the message is clear: Gamers and nongamers alike are looking to explore their favorite video game characters and narratives in different mediums.
Gaming developers are getting in on the action as well, forming production arms to work with networks and Hollywood studios to build on their established franchises. Launched by Sony Interactive in 2019, PlayStation Prods. is developing a star-studded series based on its hit game “The Last of Us” with HBO. Activision Blizzard Studios was working on a film series based on its biggest IP, “Call of Duty,” although director Stefano Sollima said in an interview last year that after several delays, the project was “in limbo.”

What comes after “Raven’s Banquet?” “The Crow’s Dessert,” perhaps? Maybe “Corvus’ Early Bedtime?” Ok, good ideas are clearly lacking, but I’m not alone: Ian (played by Rob McElhenney) and the newly promoted co-creative director Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) are also at a loss when it comes to following up “Mythic Quest’s” last expansion pack, and they’ll need a name as awe-inspiring as “Raven’s Banquet” if they want to keep their hit video game at the top of the charts.

In what’s surely going to win the non-existent prize for today’s most unexpected announcement in the world of television, Netflix’s newly-official Assassin’s Creed series is already proving to be a hot topic on social media.

Unfortunately, as far as official details go, that’s all we know so far, so audiences hoping to learn specifics with regard to setting, characters and cast members will no doubt be required to exercise patience for the time being, especially as the production has yet to even secure a showrunner.

Netflix is developing a live-action “Assassin’s Creed” TV series as part of a new deal with Ubisoft that will see the streaming service create content based on the hit video game, the companies said Tuesday.
The potential show is described as “an epic, genre-bending live-action adaptation” of “Assassin’s Creed.” A search is underway for a showrunner for the project, with Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik serving as executive producers.
The “Assassin’s Creed” video game franchise launched in November 2007 and has sold more than 155 million games worldwide, one of the best-selling series in video game history. The open-world action-adventure stealth games center on the battle between two secret orders — the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who try to achieve peace through order and control — as they use technology to access the memories of Assassins in the past.
