Chris Brown, the R&b singer known for his smooth vocals and impressive dance moves, has a long and complicated history in the music industry. On the other hand, Quavo is the distinctive voice behind many Migos hits, a rap group that gained immense popularity for its catchy hooks and high-energy performances.

The two talented artists do not share quite the best of relationship. Chris Brown’s recent song “The Weakest Link” throws serious shade at Quavo with lyrics so vicious that the song is getting respect even from his critics.

Chris Brown‘s The Weakest Link takes shots at Quavo with a multi-pronged attack. Brown throws shade at Quavo’s relationships and implied involvement with her ex. This low blow was already enough to stir up drama but he further upped the ante.

The man accused of fatally shooting Migos rapper Takeoff outside a Texas bowling alley last year appeared in court Thursday as his lawyer maintained his innocence in the slow-moving murder case.

“Ask God why, I didn’t get an answer/Why I lose my brother to bullets/Why I lose my grandma to cancer,” Offset harmonizes on “Say My Grace.” Few could have imagined that the Atlanta artist who emerged as one-third of Migos a decade ago with “Versace,” reintroducing the concept of a rap group to the Zoomer generation, would settle uncomfortably into the role of husband to pop icon Cardi B, and become a target of internet gossip so pernicious that the phrase “Offset cheating” elicits thousands of Google search results dating back years.

Since mid-2022, heavy news and speculation have followed Offset. Rumblings of tension among his rap group Migos began when Quavo and Takeoff set off as a duo that May and continued even after Takeoff was tragically murdered last November. In recent months, things began to look lighter: He and Quavo reunited for a tribute to Takeoff at the BET Awards in June; in July, he dropped “Jealousy,” a jolting single with his wife, Cardi B, and released a cinematic self-directed video along with it; and in September, he joined Twitch...

Atlanta rapper Quavo walks into Washington, D.C.’s Convention Center to immense fanfare. People film him on their phones, including one man who proclaims, “That’s the man right there” as Quavo walks by with his mother, Edna Maddox, and his sister Titania Davenport. Another man calls out his name as the trio goes down an escalator. Quavo is unfazed by it all; he’s been in the public eye for more than a decade as one-third of the iconic Migos rap group and now a platinum soloist. But...

Quavo stopped by Toosii’s concert in Atlanta last night to join the rapper for a rendition of “Hotel Lobby.” The sold-out show, at Atlanta’s The Tabernacle, also featured special guests Rob49, Jacquees, and Hunxho.
“Hotel Lobby” comes off Quavo and Takeoff’s 2022 LP Only Built for Infinity Links. When the track was released last May, the pair’s Migos bandmate Offset was notably absent. Due to Takeoff’s murder last year, Quavo hasn’t had many opportunities to perform the song live, making last night’s rendition especially poignant.

The BET Awards, otherwise known as “Culture’s Biggest Night,” has long highlighted artistic diversity within the Black community and the broader African diaspora and the 2023 edition was no different.
With this year marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, a significant amount of the BET Awards telecast was devoted to celebrating the genre’s dynamic legacy. Old school and new school rappers hit the stage at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles — including The Sugarhill Gang, Fat Joe, Fabolous, Remy Ma, Doechii, and Ice Spice, among others — for a rare night that encompassed rap styles from the East Coast, West Coast and the South and beyond that have come to dominate music and culture in the U.S. and globally. Sunday’s telecast captured the performances and impassioned speeches but missed some trends and moments on the carpet and behind the scenes.

The BET Awards were a family affair for Busta Rhymes. The rapper brought five of his six children to the June 25 ceremony, where he was honored with the lifetime achievement award for his prolific, decades-long hip-hop career. Rhymes posed on the pink carpet with his two daughters, Cacie and Mariah Smith; three sons, T'ziah, Trillian, and T'Khi Wood-Smith; and one of his nephews. The men of his family subtly coordinated in shiny brocade suits, while his daughters stunned in sparkly off-the-shoulder gowns.
When Rhymes took the stage to accept the lifetime achievement award from Swizz Beatz and Marlon Wayans, he teared up and gave a shout-out to his kids, who were cheering him on in the front row. "I'ma wear it on my sleeve. I do want to cry," the 51-year-old artist began. "My oldest child was a 3-year-old in the 'Woo-Hah!!' video back in '96. He's 30. He's right here.

Surviving Migos members Quavo and Offset reunited for a surprise performance at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday night. It marked their first time sharing the stage since the death of bandmate Takeoff in November 2022.
Quavo and Offset honored Takeoff by performing Migos’ classic track “Bad & Boujee.” Watch video of the tribute below.
Takeoff was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley on the morning of November 1st. A 22-year-old man named Joshua Cameron was later arrested and indicted for his murder, and is currently awaiting trial.
Prior to Takeoff’s death, Offset had become estranged from Migos, with Quavo and Takeoff releasing their own album called Only Built for Infinity Links in October 2022. In February of this year, Quavo seemingly closed the door on the tribute track “For the Rocket” by rapping: “Don’t ask about the group / He gone, we gone / It can’t come back.”

In February of this year, Quavo seemingly closed the door on the tribute track “For the Rocket” by rapping: “Don’t ask about the group / He gone, we gone / It can’t come back.”

Just days after celebrating what would have been Takeoff's 29th birthday, Quavo and Offset reunited for a special surprise performance at the 2023 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday. The Migos rappers performed their hits "Hotel Lobby" and "Bad & Boujee" in front of a projected video of a space shuttle launching into the sky that then turned into an image of the late Takeoff. At one point during the performance, the Migos duo shouted out, "BET, this one's for Take!"
After taking the stage, Offset posted a video of the performance on Instagram, writing, "Do this sh*t for the fam cuz this sh*t bigger than me #LL...

Offset and Quavo reunited for a surprise performance to honor their late groupmate, Takeoff, who was fatally shot on Nov. 1 in Houston, Texas, with a touching tribute during this year’s BET Awards.
The duo performed together for the first time since they disbanded their hip-hop trio, Migos, after releasing their fourth and final studio album Culture III in 2021. When the awards show returned from a commercial break, a curtain raised on a darkened stage with two shadowed figures emerging: Quavo and Offset, standing before an image of the Space Shuttle. As a recording of Takeoff’s verse on the song “Hotel Lobby” began, the space shuttle took off and the pair launched into the group’s biggest hit, “Bad & Boujee.”

For years, it's been widely believed that all three members of Migos - the Atlanta rap collective once comprised of Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff - were directly related to one another. But according to Offset, that's not entirely accurate. In a revealing interview with Variety, published on May 24, the rapper shared with the publication that he doesn't actually have direct familial ties to his former group members.
Previously, in the wake of Takeoff's shocking death in 2022, Insider reported that the rap trio came together in 2008 when Quavo teamed up with his nephew Takeoff (to whom he's actually related) and cousin Offset. According to Variety, though, Quavo and Offset's cousin titles stemmed from the two hanging out with each other and Takeoff when Offset was in the sixth grade. The three would also often hang out in Quavo's mom's basement growing up, leading to their rap group and influential "triplet flow" style of rapping.

The BET Awards ceremony went without a host for its performance-heavy telecast Sunday on BET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Coco Jones, Burna Boy, Latto and Beyoncé Knowles were among the artists who scored wins at this year’s celebration of music, film, television and sports.
This year’s awards show packed the broadcast with music performances honoring the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, along with highlighting the year’s top talent. Only a fraction of the awards were announced during the live show.
Performer Lil Uzi Bert opened the show alongside hip-hop legends The Sugarhill Gang, who performed their hit “Rapper’s Delight.” Other highlights included tributes to Tupac Shakur and Biz Markie, along with Migos collaborators Quavo and Offset reuniting onstage to pay tribute to their late bandmate Takeoff (who died in November). Warren G. performed “Regulate” and Tyga went back to his hit song “Rack City.

Titania Davenport, the mother of the late rapper Takeoff, has filed a lawsuit against the owners of 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas, the location where her son was shot and killed in November 2022. According to court documents, Davenport mentions nearly 20 counts of alleged negligence by the bowling alley.
Davenport filed the wrongful death lawsuit on Wednesday, June 7, claiming that the venue did not provide sufficient security on the night of the Migos rapper’s death. She cited that the bowling alley “provided no screening mechanisms, no after-hour controls or security measures and no enforcement of rule or industry standards to deter crime against their invitees.”
She also said that the venue should have been ready for possible criminal activity due to the high number of violent incidents that occurred in the area as well as the celebrity guests that were at the bowling alley that night – the venue had been...

Clark was first arrested in early December, just weeks after Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston, where he was out with his uncle and Migos bandmate Quavo.
It was reported that an argument broke out, leading to a physical altercation, with Takeoff ultimately being shot. He was 28.
“Today’s action by the grand jury is not unexpected,” Clark’s attorney told TMZ of the indictment.
“We would ask people to remember that getting an indictment requires meeting a very, very minimal standard of proof,” the attorney continued.
