Note: This story contains spoilers from the “9-1-1: Lone Star” Season 4 finale.
“9-1-1: Lone Star” finally gave fans the Tarlos wedding they deserved. But a devastating twist put a damper on the celebrations, setting off a potentially dark parth for the newlyweds’ future.
Actors Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael L. Silva — who play the fan favorite couple comprised of paramedic Tk and police officer Carlos on the Fox first responder drama — spoke with TheWrap about the tragedy that struck days before their big day. The eventful two-hour finale followed the preparations for the wedding, until the action took a tragic turn when Carlos’ father Gabriel (Benito Martinez) was murdered in his home.
“No one saw that coming with Gabriel,” Rubinstein told TheWrap ahead of the episode’s debut Tuesday night. “Even when you’re the one on screen, they still manage to shock the actors every single time… That was really a hard one to swallow.

Carlos goes to the scene of one of the 126’s rescues when the victim — possibly thrown off a cliff by her boyfriend — matches Iris’ description; she turns out to be a sex doll. But it is via a 9-1-1 call that Iris is found, with Grace (Sierra McClain) taking her call. She’s ...

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the Jan. 31 “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Fox.
You didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did you? “9-1-1: Lone Star” fans were reminded what show they are watching with Monday’s installment of Ryan Murphy’s Fox first-responder drama, when fiancés T.K. Strand (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos Reyes (Rafael Silva) received the blessing of Carlos’ estranged wife/childhood best friend Iris (Lyndsy Fonseca) to get an annulment eight weeks before T.K. and Carlos’ moved-up wedding — only for her to go missing at the end of the episode.
With much on the line and so little time, “Tarlos” shippers are waiting to see how the paramedic and cop — and their friends and family at the 126 — will help them find Iris before something terrible happens to her, and, we hope, still find a way to plan a happy wedding.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from Monday’s Season 4 premiere of “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Fox.
Oh, lord. The fourth season premiere of Fox’s “9-1-1” spinoff “Lone Star” began with a spark igniting between Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) and one of the 126’s latest rescues, Trevor Parks (series newcomer D.B. Woodside), and ended with Tommy being surrounded by hellfire as she found out her new crush is also her new reverend.
“You can’t just go out and have drinks and get sloppy with the pastor,” Torres tells Variety of the chief paramedic’s realization that the first man she’s been truly interested in since her husband Charles died isn’t a good candidate for a casual fling.
“She’s a grown woman that understands relationships and has been in relationships,” Torres says. “Charles was not her first and she’s very clear that he’s not going to be her last.

In a sweet viral moment, the singer Lizzo actually made good on a request that Aurielle Marie put into the universe. Marie is an author and essayist who will be honored at Out Magazine’s Out 100 gala and filmed a viral TikTok where she publicly asked Lizzo to let her wear a gorgeous magenta gown the singer wore at the 2019 American Music Awards.
Marie, who is genderqueer and uses she/they pronouns, even said that they almost missed the gown because “It was supposed to come Friday but arrived literally ten minutes before we left our flight for New York.” The author also posted a follow-up on Tuesday which showed the package of the dress arriving. Seeing their excitement and joy as they unpack and then try on the dress is infectious and inspiring.

Gay characters have come a long way since Steven Carrington (Al Corley) kept sleeping with women on the Og version of Dynasty. Case in point: 9-1-1: Lone Star celebrated same-sex couple Tyler “Tk” Strand (Ronen Rubenstein) and Carlos Reyes (Rafael Silva) getting engaged when the paramedic proposed to the policeman in the Season 3 finale. Needless to say, fans can’t wait for the action drama to return midseason 2023 on Fox. TV Insider recently caught up with Silva and Rubenstein at the second annual queer television festival The OutFronts in Hollywood to chat with the actors about Tarlos’ engagement and when viewers can expect to hear literal wedding bells. For starters, Rubenstein says the whole reason “Tarlos” even exists is because of series creator Ryan Murphy. “He had a major transgender story on Nip/Tuck nearly 20 years ago,” the actor says, referring to Famke Janssen’s trans character Ava Moore.

Fox has renewed 9-1-1 spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star for a fourth season. The pickup was part of the network’s upfront slate announcement. Not included in it are Fox’s flagship scripted series 9-1-1 as well as fellow drama stalwart, The Resident.
As Deadline reported over the weekend, renewal negotiations on both shows went down to the wire and could not close by Sunday night, in time for Fox’s Monday upfront presentation. From what I’ve heard, the network seems to have focused its attention on the tough decisions and bubble show renewals, and the ones that were no-brainers ended up taking longer in the final stretch. Renewal negotiations are more complicated now that Fox and 9-1-1 and The Resident studio 20th Television are no longer part of the same company following the studio’s acquisition by Disney. “9-1-1” and spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star” will be reunited on Fox’s Monday primetime lineup when the O.G. show comes back from hiatus in March. When the two are once again airing in the back-to-back 8 and 9 p.m. time slots they held last spring, showrunner Tim Minear says there will be definitely be some “crossover action.”
But don’t get too excited yet, because the “9-1-1” and “Lone Star” chief assures Variety that whatever he has planned will not compare to the massive wildfire episode he orchestrated last year that brought three “9-1-1” characters over to “Lone Star.”
“The pandemic didn’t go away, so it’s still super complicated to make these shows,” Minear said. “There will be some crossover action in the back half of this season. Don’t expect a giant crossover where all the characters from one show appear on the other show. But there will be some cross-pollination.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Push,” Monday’s episode of “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
We did it, “9-1-1: Lone Star” fans. On Monday, the Fox drama finally made it to the end of the four-episode ice storm arc that kicked off its third season, and turned viewers into nervous puddles of emotion for a month. In the epic fourth-hour climax came three very big moments: The birth of Grace (Sierra McClain) and Judd’s (Jim Parrack) baby girl; the recovery of T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein), and the long-awaited mending of his relationship with Carlos (Rafael L. Silva); and the reopening of Station 126, with Captains Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) and Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) back in charge of the entire reunited Austin team.
This episode finally dove into what broke T.K. and Carlos up, by T.K. revealing to an imagined version of his mother...

Ronen Rubinstein was anxious for his family and friends back in his native Staten Island to watch the second episode of “9-1-1: Lone Star.” He told them he was playing Rob Lowe’s gay son on the Fox procedural, but he wasn’t sure what they’d think of the very steamy encounter between his character, T.K. Strand, and his future police officer boyfriend Carlos Reyes, played by openly gay actor Rafael L. Silva.
“Carlos and I have a huge make-out scene where we, like, burst through the door, and we’re ripping our clothes off,” Rubinstein says. “It’s super hot and it just goes on. It just doesn’t stop. We’re, like, crashing against the walls, and then we end up on the couch. I warned my parents and my friends for months. I said, ‘Listen, I understand if you guys don’t want to watch it,...

‘9-1-1’/’Lone Star’ Crossover Will Feature ‘Epic’ Storyline for T.K. and Buck, Ronen Rubinstein Says
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Monday’s Season 2 premiere of “9-1-1: Lone Star.”)
T.K. Strand (Ronen Rubinstein) has a lot to be thankful for at the end of the second season premiere of “9-1-1” spinoff series, “Lone Star,” which revealed his father, Owen (Rob Lowe), is almost fully cancer-free and that T.K. is finally in an official, committed relationship with his Season 1 love interest, Carlos (Rafael L. Silva).
But even though “Tarlos” shippers might be happy for now, trouble is ahead for T.K. and the gang, as the closing moments of the Season 2 opener showed lava is coming into Austin, Texas and the promo’s for Episode 2 tease that not everyone at Station 126 will make it out of this next emergency alive.
But while we wait to see what trauma next week brings, TheWrap spoke with Rubinstein to get some details about what to expect in...
