Survivor castaways rarely form romantic connections, aka showmances, during the game. And that’s mostly because they’re focused on winning the $1 million and the title of Sole Survivor, but also because they go days and weeks without taking a shower or brushing their teeth. However, every once in a while, two players can’t deny their chemistry (which seems to be happening in season 44), and a Survivor showmance forms.

As a quick note, our list of the five most recent Survivor showmances doesn’t include couples who got together after their seasons ended or before they began.
The CBS reality competition series’ last showmance was between Dan Rengering and Kara Kay in David vs. Goliath. Producers assigned them to the Goliath tribe to start the game, and they immediately hit it off.

Ben is on a "mission" to win Survivor, but with the whole tribe against him, does he really have a shot?
Only Et has an exclusive clip from Wednesday's season finale, in which Dr. Mike reveals exactly why Ben has become the biggest threat in the game -- and why they need to get him out Asap.
"Ben needs to leave this game. He's very dangerous, you know? I don't need a million dollars. I'm playing to win Survivor because I am going to be the ultimate Survivor," Mike explains, as the tribe agrees that Ben's their next target. "Ben's playing because he feels this need to win this money for his family, which makes him ferocious."
Ben, meanwhile, is completely aware that his tribe is gunning for him... but also isn't giving up just yet.
"I'm vulnerable, you know? I have no protection now. I have no alliance and I know they're gunning for me. The only...

Just days earlier, Ashley Nolan's immunity necklace was as good as Devon's, but on Wednesday's episode of Survivor, their alliance went kaput.
The 26-year-old lifeguard definitely proved that she had the strength to win challenges and the smarts to create strong alliances, but those alliances clearly weren't as strong as she thought.
"When [Devon and Chrissy] picked Ryan for the reward is when it first struck me as odd. I was like, 'Ok. There's a good chance that I just lost him,' but I was trying to be optimistic, and in my head, I was like, 'Maybe he's going to work for both of us. Maybe he's going to make some moves for both of us against Ben or against Mike,'" Ashley told Et over the phone on Thursday. "But when they got back, everything seemed different."
"I felt like I was being told slightly different variations of things from different people, and that's essentially...

Fans weren't the only ones shaking their heads at Lauren Rimmer for being eliminated on Wednesday's episode of Survivor with (half) an idol and an advantage in her pocket.
"[My sister has] cussed me out two or three times," Lauren told Et over the phone on Thursday. "She's called me a dummy and a few other things."
The North Carolina native's sister, Sunny, had been her No. 1 supporter throughout the game, and even dragged her to the open casting call that led to her joining the game. While Sunny didn't make the cut, Lauren promised that she would "share every minute that I could with her, and that I would do my best to get her to the family visit." Lauren made good on that promise, and Sunny was flown out to Fiji to reunite with her sister just in time for her torch to be snuffed.

Viewers finally saw some moves being made on Wednesday's episode of Survivor -- but don't call it a blindside.
After seemingly being on the bottom since the merge, Joe Mena and Dr. Mike were finally able to turn the vote, sending Jp Hilsabeck home. It was a huge victory for the Coconuts, as they called themselves, but Mena, who was sent home in Wednesday's second episode, isn't exactly happy about it.
"It wasn't a blindside. It was Jp!" he told Et on Thursday. "A blindside would have been Chrissy and Ben, and that's what I was going after. After two weeks of me yelling, [threatening that I won't vote for] any of the seven if no one makes a move... they came up with Jp."
"Jp is the person you actually keep in the game.... I don't think he knew what was going on," he continued. "Once Jp was gone, I was really trying to flip the script and take Devon out. But they...

The spaghetti ghost came back to haunt Cole Medders on Thursday's episode of Survivor.
The 24-year-old could definitely outplay and outeat his tribemates on Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers -- but outwit and outlast them, not so much. His love for (other people's) food and lack of ability to hide it made Cole a target since the merge, with his aptitude for immunity challenges the only thing keeping his fire alive in the game. Thursday's challenge, however, didn't prove to be his strong suit, as Lauren emerged victorious, sealing Cole's fate -- despite Dr. Mike's efforts otherwise.
"I had no idea Mike was going to go make some crazy Statue of Liberty speech and try to draw votes his way, or that he was going to play his idol," Cole told Et of Mike's last-ditch play to send Ben home, revealing that Mike also pulled out a fake idol during tribal council and gave it to Joe...

Desi Williams might be one of the sincerest people to play Survivor.
The Virginia native was voted out on Wednesday's episode of Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers after a tie and a missing vote -- but has no regrets about not voting for Joe.
"We got to the point in the game where Joe was the only one left in the game who I felt like I could trust," Desi told Et over the phone on Thursday. "At that point in time, Joe was the only person who wasn't lying to me. So I was having this really hard dilemma about whether I vote out the one person I trust in this game... And I felt like if I wrote his name down, that there were larger implications, that I might not ever trust anybody in life again."
"I was having a tough time separating what's happening in the game from who I am as a person...

Jessica Johnston became the seventh castaway sent home in “Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers” when the 29-year-old nurse practitioner from Louisville, Kentucky, found herself blindsided at Tribal Council. It was at the moment that Jeff Probst snuffed her torch that the look of recognition could be seen on her face as she realized her […]...

Just as quickly as she proclaimed herself the "Queen Bee" of Survivor, Jessica Johnston got the boot.
The blonde beauty had it all (intellect, athleticism and personality), and seemingly was going to get it all (the check for $1 million and a boyfriend), before being blindsided on Wednesday night's episode of Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers -- the first vote after the merge.
"I was overly confident," Jessica told Et over the phone on Thursday. "I'm really embarrassed that I [called myself a Queen Bee], because I think that anybody who has watched the game, they eye rolled. I mean, I eye rolled when I saw that. I was like, 'You're an idiot! What is wrong with you?'"
The Louisville, Kentucky, native was so blindsided that she was still recovering from her elimination -- and soothing her shock with pizza for breakfast and ice cream for lunch.
