When Batman Ninja was first released, it was something that Batman fans had not seen before. The anime movie not only provided a different culturological interpretation of the Caped Crusader, it also provided us with a uniquely interesting film that completely shifted the perspective on DC Comics’ most popular character. The movie was originally released to praise and now, six years after the original, 2018 release of Batman Ninja, it has been confirmed that a sequel would be made, continuing the story of the first movie. The sequel is officially going to be titled Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League and will continue the story of Batman Ninja.
At this moment, information about the project is scarce and we only have an official logo for the movie and some casting information. This is a relatively new announcement, so we have not received too much information yet, but this will certainly change in the future.

This Star Wars: Visions article contains spoilers.
Seven animation studios have come together to create Star Wars: Visions, a collection of nine anime short films that reimagines the galaxy far, far away through the lens of Japanese culture and aesthetics. It’s one of the most ambitious projects Lucasfilm has ever embarked on with the saga, and it’s an experiment that largely pays off, as it not only brings fresh perspectives to Star Wars but also new characters, from the mysterious swordsman known only as Ronin to a little droid named T0-B1 who wants nothing more than to become a real Jedi Knight.
The stories in Visions take place across several eras of the Star Wars saga, including after The Rise of Skywalker, but are these tales part of the official Disney canon? Here’s what you need to know.

“Star Wars: Visions,” the new nine-part anime anthology on Disney+, returns the franchise to its Japanese roots even more directly than “The Mandalorian” to expand the universe. What’s exciting is how the seven anime studios filter the franchise so comfortably through the prism of Japanese culture. That’s because George Lucas’ original vision for “Star Wars” was an imaginative fusion of Japanese cinema and sci-fi space opera.
“‘Star Wars’ has been so influenced by Japanese culture from Kurosawa films [‘The Hidden Fortress’] to jidaigeki [period samurai] films [from which the Jedi name is derived] to Zen Budhism and its impact on the Force,” said executive producer James Waugh of Lucasfilm. “We’ve been talking about doing [‘Star Wars’ anime] for a long time, but we couldn’t make it happen until the force of nature that’s Disney+.”
On “Visions,” Lucasfilm Animation partnered with Kanako Shirasaki and Justin Leach of Qubic Pictures. They approached the anime studios that they wished to collaborate with, and...

This fall Netflix will begin streaming Sound & Fury, an anime film based on a story by Grammy-winning country artist Sturgill Simpson, the singer-songwriter announced tonight during a Comic-Con panel.
The movie is produced by Simpson and set entirely to music from his forthcoming album, also called Sound & Fury. The film and the album, from Elektra Records, will be released simultaneously.
Simpson merges American rock and Japanese animation in the film. The movie was written and directed by Jumpei Mizusaki, founder of renowned CG animation studio Kamikaze Douga (Batman Ninja).
Additional directors include Masaru Matsumoto of Grayscale Arts (Starship Troopers: Traitors of Mars), Michael Arias (The Animatrix), Henry Thurlow and Arthell Isom of D’Art Shtajio, and Koji Morimoto (Akira).
Takashi Okazaki, creator of Japanese manga series Afro Samurai, served as the film’s character designer. Shunsuke Ochiai executive produces.

After a number of Asian animation reviews, the time to deal with Japanese anime time was due, although “Cocolors” is not exactly the average production of the category, as Shibuya-based animators Kamikaze Douga use a signature skill of animation, that we will discuss further ahead in the article. The film is the second entry in the “Gasoline Mask” project, after the homonymous, first part.
“Cocolors” screened at Fantasia International Film Festival
The story takes place in a world where the eruption of Mt Fuji has filled with a dark ash, which can burn human flesh and is even deadly to breath. Humanity, in order to survive, has retreated deep underground, where everyone is wearing astronaut-like suits and masks, in order to survive the ash. In this awful setting, Aki, a not so brave boy, tries to protect his sickly, mute friend Fuyu, as he joins a team that is to...
