This week the specialty box office saw an incredible performance by yet another faith-based movie. This marks the third time this year – the other two: Witnesses and The Girl Who Believes In Miracles – the limited release space was topped by a religious-themed film.
The Jesus Music (Lionsgate) is a documentary that chronicles the origins of contemporary Christian music and its rise into a multi-billion dollar industry. The film serves as a love letter to all Christian music fans and features intimate interviews with some of the genre’s biggest stars including Amy Grant, Michael Smith, TobyMac, Kirk Franklin and others. The Jesus Music is directed by brothers Andrew and Jon Erwin with Brandon Gregory and Joshua Walsh serving as producers.
The Jesus Music‘s success should come as little surprise given the international popularity of contemporary Christian music.
Premiering on 249 screens, the religious music documentary grossed an impressive $560K, which...

Cannes Palme d’Or winner “Titane” is coming to the U.S. on October 1.
Neon, who nabbed stateside acquisition rights to the Julia Ducournau film back in 2019, made the announcement Friday on Twitter.
The film stars Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon and revolves around a woman who has sex with cars after growing up with a metal plate in her head from a car accident. The body-bending horror also features Garance Marillier, Laïs Salameh, Mara Cisse, Marin Judas, Diong-Kéba Tacu, Myriem Akheddiou, Bertrand Bonello and more.
Without a word of dialogue, the trailer for the movie flashes between harrowing scenes of a body transforming, fire spreading and people dancing.
Variety critic Peter Debruge called the film “lusty” and “dark,” writing that “Titane” is “a daringly queer and undoubtedly controversial ride, resulting in a most uncommon monster movie — a cross between David Cronenberg’s ‘Crash’ and the uterine horrors of Takashi Miike’s ‘Gozu,...

Neon has unveiled a promo teaser trailer for the the film Titane, the second feature film made by acclaimed French filmmaker Julia Ducournau following her horror hit Raw a few years ago. There is not much of a synopsis available yet, only that "Titane" means "A metal, highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with high tensile strength alloys often used in medical prostheses due to pronounced biocompatibility." There's clearly a lot of crazy things going on in this! It stars Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon - seen prominently throughout this teaser. Along with Garance Marillier and Laïs Salameh. The French description also adds: "After a series of unexplained crimes, a father finds his son who has been missing for 10 years." Even without any idea what's going on in all this footage, I am very interested in this and all the intense moments in this trailer. Titane is premiering at the...
