“I’m such a ‘Survivor’ nerd that [Ghost Island] felt like I was in a museum of ‘Survivor’ past,” laughs Kellyn Bechtold about experiencing this season’s big twist up close and personal. We chatted with the Denver, Colorado resident following her elimination in Wednesday’s 13th episode, in which the vote initially came down to a tie between her and Donathan Hurley. While Kellyn admits she was “scared to go sleep by myself all alone” on Ghost Island, she adds that “it was so fun to just nerd out and play these advantages.” Listen to our “Survivor” exit interview podcast above.

CBS will air the two-hour season finale of “Survivor: Ghost Island” on Wednesday, May 23 beginning at 8 p.m. Et/7 p.m. Ct. The original cast of 20 has been culled to just six castaways still in contention for the title and the $1 million prize. Four members of the original Naviti tribe remain in the running: Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland Jr., Sebastian Noel and Angela Perkins. Only two of the original Malolo tribe are still standing: Donathan Hurley and Laurel Johnson.
While Holland has the best odds to win according to our exclusive “Survivor” predictions, it’s still anyone’s game according to Jeff Probst, who has hosted all 36 seasons of the show. He assures viewers that there is a lot more drama to come on this installment of the reality-series competition series. As he told EW, “It is far from over.”

After being on the bottom for the duration of the game, 18-year-old castaway Michael Yerger finally had his torch snuffed on “Survivor: Ghost Island” during Wednesday’s 11th episode. In our morning-after interview with Michael, he tells us that he tried to make the best out of a bad situation. “Going into the game I had all of these hopes and dreams of what it might look like and what position I could work myself into. And when the game doesn’t really coincide with those plans, it’s hard, it’s difficult.” Listen to our “Survivor” exit interview podcast above.

Jenna Bowman fell victim to a new “Survivor: Ghost Island” twist during Wednesday’s 11th episode, in which the merged tribe of 10 players was temporarily split into two smaller groups of five. Jenna was eliminated from her tribe that also included Malolo ally Donathan Hurley and Naviti members Sebastian Noel, Angela Perkins and Chelsea Townsend. As Jenna tells us in our morning-after interview, she went to tribal council “under the impression I was working with the three Navitis to vote Donathan out.” So what went wrong? Desiree Afuye was a member of the dominating Naviti alliance on “Survivor: Ghost Island,” so why did she risk it all by trying to make a big move in Wednesday’s 10th episode? “I didn’t want to get to a point in the game where I realized it was too late and I didn’t have my own move to pitch to the jury,” she tells us about her idea of trying to get out some of the big players like Kellyn Bechtold, Domenick Abbate and Wendell Holland. “That’s what I had in mind making that move.” Listen to our “Survivor” exit interview podcast above.

On Thursday night’s merge episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island” the brewing war between Chris Noble and Domenick Abbate finally came to a head, resulting in an iconic blindside of Chris who was eliminated in a near-unanimous vote at a tribal council (his first!) he couldn’t even vote at with a hidden immunity idol safe (and unused!) in his pocket. (Listen to our exit interview with Chris.) With Chris out of the game only 12 players are left and a game once dominated by original tribe loyalty is now wide open to any player willing and prepared to seize control.

What strategy do you employ when predicting who will be named the winner of “Survivor: Ghost Island”? One clue some prognosticators use is the “winner’s edit,” the belief that producers of the long-running reality TV show typically provide the eventual winner a favorable, heroic and/or ever-present edit throughout the season. One easy way to narrow down which players have favorable edits is to decide which players don’t — consider Chelsea Townsend and Libby Vincek who have been narratively invisible for much of the season so far. It’d be hard to build an argument for either of them to be the beneficiaries of winner’s edits when we know so little about who they are as players and strategists.
Instead, look to the players that have had an abundance of confessionals, are edited into episodes they might otherwise not have an important role in and are shown narrating...

Wednesday on Episode 6 of “Survivor: Ghost Island,” the Naviti and Malolo tribes will be mixed up for the second time this season. In the past we’ve seen tribe swaps be detrimental to someone’s game, like Morgan Ricke who was eliminated after being placed on a team with a numbers disadvantage. This week our readers predict that a similar fate will befall Bradley Kleihege, who has leading 2/1 odds to be the sixth castaway sent home. Do you agree or disagree with those odds? Sound off down in the comments section.

Who was voted on in Wednesday’s fifth episode of CBS’s “Survivor: Ghost Island”? Prior to the episode airing, Gold Derby’s exclusive odds predicted that Naviti’s Chris Noble would be eliminated following his ever-growing feud with tribe mate Domenick Abbate. Over on the Malolo tribe, Bradley Kleihege had the best odds to be sent packing after he was called out in last week’s episode for being the domineering leader of his group. Did our “Survivor” predictions pan out this week?

According to Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions, the ever-growing feud between Chris Noble and Domenick Abbate will reach its apex on Wednesday’s fifth episode of “Survivor,” titled “A Diamond In The Rough.” These two castaways have been going at each others’ throats since Day 1, despite Domenick trying to make good with Chris by showing him his [fake] hidden immunity idol. The only problem? Chris recognized that the idol was likely fake, so all trust was lost. Our predictions favor Chris to go home this week with leading 8/5 odds, while Domenick looks to be safe as he only has 50/1 odds.

Brendan Shapiro was voted out of “Survivor: Ghost Island” in Wednesday’s fourth episode not because of anything he said or did, but because he had a numbers disadvantage following the tribe swap. His former Malolo tribe had four members compared to Naviti’s five. Brendan’s alliance buddy Michael Yerger was in possession of a hidden immunity idol, but he incorrectly used it on Stephanie Johnson and so Brendan was sent packing. “I would have used it on myself,” Brendan confesses to me when I ask him what he would have done if he had the idol instead of Michael. “I had a sense that it was coming my way.” Listen to our “Survivor” exit interview podcast above.

The new version of the Maolo tribe will win both the Reward and Immunity challenges on the March 14 episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island.” That will put someone from the Naviti tribe in the crosshairs for elimination at the end of the episode entitled “Trust Your Gut.” It looks like Chris Noble, who was one of the original members of that team, will be sent packing at the tribal council. For a preview of the episode, including a closer look at both challenges, click through the photos above.
After the swap in episode three, the Naviti tribe is comprised of three original members besides Noble — Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland and Angela Perkins — and four Malolo players: Donathan Hurley, Laurel Johnson, James Lim and Libby Vincek. If Noble is bounced, that means that some of his original teammates turned against him.
The Malolo tribe still has Jenna Bowman, Stephanie Johnson, Brendan Shapiro and Michael Yerger.

According to Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions, Brooklyn, New York resident Chris Noble will be voted out of “Survivor” following his brief stint at Ghost Island. Jacob Derwin may have been the second castaway voted out of “Survivor: Ghost Island,” but he’s well aware of the fact that he could have been the first. He tells us that the only thing that prevented him from being eliminated earlier was that he was sent to Ghost Island. “I could not have saved myself. Even though Jacob was voted off early, does he gain some solace knowing that he’ll go down in the “Survivor” record books as the first person to ever visit Ghost Island? “You know, it’s a funny distinction. One could look at it as a pride point. For me it’s kind of just this weird coincidence.

“My first reaction was, this is an epic theme and probably has been in the works for a long time,” Stephanie Gonzalez tells us after being the first person voted out of “Survivor: Ghost Island.” (Read our live blog recap of the season premiere.) “There’s been so many mistakes and idols played wrong and fake idols that were terrible and idols taken home.
