“The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson is hoping that first time is the charm when the Top 12 perform on the live Monday, April 23 show. She has three strong artists in contention for the season 14 title. America got to decide on two of her team while she was limited to making just one choice. She was faced with a particularly tough decision as her four remaining artists each had merit. In the end, she went with D.R. King over Alexa Cappelli, Dylan Hartigan and Tish Haynes Keys.
We asked you which of those three artists that didn’t make the cut with Clarkson was the most deserving to move on to the live shows. Your choice, by a slim margin, was Cappelli, who has 41% of the vote as this writing. That puts her four points ahead of Keys while Hartingan is down at 22%.

In last winter’s season 13, the coaches on “The Voice” decided which three artists to take to the Top 12. With the current season 14, America got to decide two of these picks while each coach was limited to just one choice. New coach Kelly Clarkson was faced with a particularly tough decision as her four remaining artists each had merit. In the end, she went with D.R. King over Alexa Cappelli, Dylan Hartigan and Tish Haynes Keys.

Wednesday’s Night 3 of The Voice’s Season 14 Live Playoffs was the end of the line for a dozen contestants. Not only did Team Kelly and Team Adam again sing for their lives, but the results of both Tuesday and Wednesday’s voting were revealed, and all four coaches had to play favorites, choosing one last singer to advance to the Top 12. For Alicia, this promised to be especially difficult; if TVLine’s Tuesday poll proved to be an accurate predictor of the overall voting, Jackie Foster was going to be moving on, leaving her coach with a Sophie’s choice between Terrence Cunningham,...

It's hard to forget the impression Hannah Goebel made during her audition for The Voice. The Nashville singer performed "If I Ain't Got You" for judges Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys (who originally recorded the ballad). She was a clear favorite since all four judges wanted her on their respective teams. She joined Kelly's team (after Kelly and Adam blocked Alicia), but dropped out of the show before her episode. This left viewers at home wondering, "Why did Hannah leave The Voice?" Hannah explained to her followers on March 27 that her choice to exit the show was personal. "As many of you have now heard, I left this season of The Voice due to personal reasons," she shared on Instagram. "I want to assure everyone that I am well; I still have my voice and am looking forward to a long music career and recording original songs in the near future.

You know it’s a jam-packed episode of The Voice when there’s not even enough time to remind us yet again of each contestant’s heart-tugging backstory. Kelly Clarkson is coming on strong in her first season as a coach on “The Voice.” She heads into the first live show on April 16, which will feature the Top 24, with one of the strongest of the four teams. This one-time “American Idol” winner is rivaled only by three-time coach Alicia Keys. The two veterans of this reality competition series — Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — lag well behind according to our readers.

The first live show of season 14 of “The Voice” is on April 16. Each coach — rookie Kelly Clarkson, one-time champ Alicia Keys, three-time winner Adam Levine or six-time victor Blake Shelton — has six artists on their team. We wondered which of these four was the best coach with the strongest team and the overwhelming choice in our poll was Keys with 40% of the vote. This Grammy winner won the second of her two seasons of “The Voice” to date when Chris Blue took the title in the spring of 2017.

Kelly Clarkson is a formidable force in her debut season as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.” The first winner of “American Idol” drew on that experience to select the right six artists to take through to the first live round of the competition, which kicks off on April 16. During the just-concluded knockout round, she had to cut her team from eight to five. And she added one steal from the cast-offs of the other coaches.

Take a look at detailed bios of each of them in the photo gallery above and then read a the recap of each of the songs that got them to this stage of the competition. “The Voice” coaches Kelly Clarkson and Alicia Keys recently took some time away from NBC’s reality TV competition to sing a sexy Las Vegas-style version of “Feeling Good.” In the vintage black-and-white performance, the female coaches were all smiles as they belted out Michael Buble‘s hit single. The video, which has been available online for weeks, was featured on Tuesday’s recap episode of “The Voice” that highlighted the Top 24 artists of Season 14. “The Voice” aired the last of the three episodes dedicated to the knockout round of season 14 on April 9. It featured the final seven match-ups and produced a lot of drama. This is the final pre-taped stage of the competition that saw the 32 remaining artists pared down to 20 for the live shows. The four coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — didn’t pick the songs that their artists performed in match-ups against each other. However, they did get to declare a winner of the sing-off and each could steal one of the rejects of the other three and save one artist from their team as well.

Cue the bell — Monday’s episode of The Voice brought to an end Season 14’s Knockout rounds. But did it suggest a frontrunner going into the Live Playoffs? Before it, the contestants had surprised us over and over again, sometimes in a positive way (for instance, Kyla Jade emerging from her shell to own Lesley Gore), sometimes not so much (Terrence Cunningham making something bad of “Tell Me Something Good”). So maybe it remained too early to start predicting who’d win — we were still learning who was going to be able to perform at a consistently high level. (That said,...

Kelly Clarkson continues to impress in her first season as a coach on “The Voice.” She heads into the knockout round with one of the strongest of the four teams, rivaled only by three-time coach Alicia Keys. The two veterans of the reality competition series — Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — lag well behind.

King — move on to the knockout round, which kicks off on April 2. Clarkson used one of her two steals in Battle 1, picking up Tish Haynes Keys when Levine opted to go with Rayshun Lamarr after their duet on “Sweetest Thing.” She used the other in Battle 3 when Shelton went with Pryor Baird over Kaleb Lee after their performance of “Don’t Do Me Like That.”

“The Voice” moves on to the knockout round on April 2. We asked our readers which coach has the strongest team at this point of the competition and a whopping 39% think it is Alicia Keys. This Grammy winner won the second of her two seasons to date when Chris Blue took the title in the spring of 2017.
Newcomer Kelly Clarkson is the pick of just over one in four readers (26%) while just under that number expect reigning champ Blake Shelton to win for a seventh time. A mere 9% think that Adam Levine will finally add a fourth trophy to his mantle. If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, vote in our poll below and then be sure to sound off on your favorite coach and artist in the comments section.

Kelly Clarkson is proving to be a formidable force in her debut season as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.” The first winner of “American Idol” is drawing on that experience to select the right artists to take through to the knockout round of the competition, which kicks off on April 2. During the just-concluded battle round, she had to cut her team from 12 to six. And she added two steals from the cast-offs of the other coaches.
Which of the eight artists on her team heading into the knockout round do you think could go all the way and win season 14 of “The Voice”? We wanted to know which coach you think has the best team heading into the knockout round of season 14 of “The Voice” that kicks off on April 2. A whopping 38% of you say that Alicia Keys has the strongest roster of talent at this stage of the competition. She won the second of her two seasons to date when Chris Blue took the title in the spring of 2017.
Rookie coach Kelly Clarkson is the pick of an impressive 27% of readers who responded in our survey. Reigning six-time champ Blake Shelton will be lucky for a seventh time say 25% while Adam Levine has only 10% of readers convinced that he will adding a fourth trophy to his mantle. If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, vote in our poll below and then be sure to sound off on your favorite coach and artist in the comments section.

Season 14 of “The Voice” just wrapped four nights of battles and all four coaches now have teams of eight to take on to the knockout round. Which coach do you think has assembled the strongest roster of artists at this stage of the competition: rookie Kelly Clarkson, one-time champ Alicia Keys, three-time winner Adam Levine or six-time victor Blake Shelton? Vote in our poll below and then be sure to sound off on your favorite coach and artist in the comments section.
Each of their teams is comprised of eight artists who made it through the battle round. The coaches divided their dozen artists into pairs and pitted them against each other to determine who would advance and who’d be sent home. The judges also were allowed to steal two artists from their rival coaches (they are indicated in italics in the listings below).

One of our favorite stages of “The Voice” competition is the battle round, which just concluded after four heart-stopping episodes. Each coach has to pair up two of their artists to sing the same song and then opt for one of them to take on to the knockout round. All four coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — can rescue two losers of other battles and steal them for their teams.
While we saw all six battles in full on Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” Tuesday’s show short-changed viewers by denying them the chance to see two of these match-ups (another turned into a solo for Alexa Cappelli after Hannah Goebel withdrew from the competition). We didn’t get to watch the performances that won over the coaches. Sure, none of the artists who went down to defeat were stolen by any of the other coaches.

The fourth and final episode of “The Voice” devoted to the make-or-break battle round shortchanged viewers by only showing three of the six duets in full. While Monday’s show had run for two hours, the March 27 episode was only an hour long. That meant that we only saw three of the six battles in full.
As with the other nights, the four coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — paired up artists on their teams to do a duet. The winner of each of these battles goes through to the knockout round. Each coach can steal two of the 18 losers from the battles overseen by the other coaches. The coaches were offered advise during rehearsals by four hit-makers: Clarkson had Hailee Steinfeld, by her side, Keys was counseled by Shawn Mendes, Levine turned to Julie Michaels, and Shelton brought in Trace Adkins.

“The Battle starts now!” Before we get to the reviews of Tuesday’s Battles on The Voice, can we just take a moment to appreciate the way Carson Daly always tells us when a sing-off is beginning? It’s one of the show’s endearing idiosyncrasies that I can’t help but laugh at and love at the same time. Wouldn’t we, um, notice that a Battle has started, even if Carson didn’t inform us? I’m going to give us enough credit to say yes. Yes, we would notice. Still, it cracks me up, and I’ve...
