This broadway theatrical production does not transfer well to the screen. I found it too talky. Nancy Kelly overacts more than William Shatner has ever done. Some of the other performers turn in credible performances, I liked Henry Jones. I find the entire production is over the top from start to finish. Kelly's performance is good for a laugh or two, however, the subject matter of the film is not very funny. I would buy the video just to have this unique movie in my collection. There are no other films of this era quite like the Bad Seed.
