great western movie, with western shtick. john wayne is his usual great self. and james stewart plays his part to perfection.and superb casting with john carradine as maj cassius starbuckle, denver pyle as amos carruthers,andy devine as maarshall link appleyard.great writing by james warner bellah. interesting scene when wayne shows stewart how to use a handgun. the wild west at his best. and top it off with the excellent thespian lee marvin as liberty valance. this movie screams see me again.
