All My Darling Daughters (1972 TV Movie)
7/10
This is a cute, heart warming made for television movie.

Robert Young (Father Knows Best, Little Women) plays Judge Charles Raleig who is a widower and has four daughters. Because of various reasons, they end up having a quadruple wedding. The grooms are all from different religion backgrounds: Jewish, Presbyterian, Zen Buddhist and Atheist (but not so sure!). The wedding organizer Miss Freeling , Eve Arden (Grease) has a hard time because as soon as she organizes the wedding, another one decides to be wed on the same day. Susan, Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey, The Trials of Rose O'Neill ) is a feminist who wants the person performing the wedding to be a woman. Time for the wedding, grandfather Andy O'Brien, Raymond Massey, (Dr. Kildare) starts having heart pains, takes his medicine and he gets stopped by the police on his way to the wedding because his car is speeding. He never makes for the wedding! He misses the entire thing! With all those religious backgrounds, dad suggests a Justice of the Peace who is a woman who will perform the wedding. At the last minute the Justice of Peace can not make it to the wedding because her own daughter is having a baby. Since dad is a Judge he performs the wedding of his four daughters himself and then stays alone in the empty nest. Since grandfather and father need a wife they end the movie toasting a double of wedding for both of them. This is a cute, heart warming made for television movie. Although after a while the plot is predictable, it is still a good movie. It also gives Robert Young the chance to play a wise dad again. Pleasant surprises: Bruno Kirby ( When Harry met Sally ) plays a young adult. It is nice to see him looking like a kid! I have the tape and enjoy watching it, I recommend it!
