Great entertainment.
22 February 2001
Marking veteran director Erik Balling's retirement from directing, this old-fashioned, but thoroughly entertaining film, tells the story of two lifelong friends moving into a free-spirited society (obviously inspired by Christiania, the authentic free commune in downtown Copenhagen). Kim Larsen and Erik Clausen both give appealing performances, and despite occasional bursts of violence and unexpected drama, film has an overall innocuous feel to it. Because of an overabundant use of stereotypes in the supporting characters, the film has dated a bit (it was made in 1984), but still hasn't lost its appeal. Raabjerg is very good as the girl who gets between them. Based on Larsen's hit record, released as the soundtrack.
