Good concepts and plot, but fell short..

I think this film had a lot of potential and as someone who enjoyed the previous two, I couldn't help but record this one on TIVO when I saw it on TNN recently. However, I was let down.

There were some good concepts here -- the mad scientist experimenting on the corpses (er.. 'dead', that is..), the typical fight for survival of this series, etc.

However, I found myself bored. It wasn't interesting to watch a zombie attempt to use no short of a half dozen items (ranging from a phone, headphones, to a gun, which has some outcome and bearing later in the flick), and the constant bickering of the scientists and 'army men' got old. There was just as much time spent watching the two groups of humans bicker as there was actual fighting/bickering with the zombies.

While I'm sure we wouldn't get along great if faced with the dead taking over the earth, you can watch the conflict that humans have with each other from every TV/Movie from "COPS" to "QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY", so why did the human/human battle consume such a large part of a film depicting a fight against malevolent undead forces?

I guess I wanted to see a horror film with some intelligence, and ended up getting to see human conflict. I wanted zombie conflict.

A bit of a letdown, for a movie I was really looking forward to. I fast forwarded 45 minutes of the two hours and really didn't miss much.
