Review of Stand by Me

Stand by Me (1986)
A nicely made film!
4 April 2003
Stand be me is one of thouse films you watch as a kid and it stays with you forever. The plot is about four 12 year-old boys, who set out in search of the missing body of another teenager, in the hope of becoming heros, and during that time they learn more about growing up, then they would for the rest of their lives.

This film is less macbre then the source would suggest, its mostly concerned with the friendships and tensions within the group, nostalgia for 1950s childhood is nicely conveyed.

The performances of the 4 young leads are good, especially from River Pheonix and Corey Feldman.
