I was sorting through my old box of movies a couple months ago and I came across a blank box screener (I used to be a movie retailer...) called Redneck Zombies. Being a large fan of any zombie movie, wacky or not (a la' evil dead...bruce campbell....where have you gone?), i decided to take an hour and a half out of my day to view this masterpiece of home video(?) As the opening credits came on i wondered if this was filmed with a standard hand held 8mm or if they really used real film...i knew i was in for a treat. The term special effects has a whole new meaning to me, as now i know it does not necessarily mean they have to be special. But the whole thing works beautifully within itself and makes you laugh out loud with such thoughts that they "are probably smoking real pot". The script is thin, but funny, playing a group of rednecks who put radioactive waste in their moonshine and become bloodthirsty zombies terrorizing innocent campers with lots of camera clipping......worth a watch - "Two severed thumbs up!"
