Having had the privilege of meeting Su Friedrich when she visited my film school a few years ago, I was excited to see Hide and Seek. I was not disappointed, it is excellent. Blending narrative and documentary styles to tell this compelling story of a young woman discovering her sexuality, Friedrich lends a humanity and sensitivity to a subject usually treated as fodder for pornography. This and other films by the New-York based director are worth searching for. I can't wait to see her next piece!
