At first, I thought they had just "borrowed" the title of the '62 low-budget classic and made an entirely different movie. Then I realized that this they took elements from the first one to make this drek. It's not so much a remake as a rethinking of the first, only there didn't seem too much thought put into it. The performances are lousy, there are no creepy chills, and the whole thing is a confusing mess. By all means, rent the '62 version, which is well-produced (on a non-existent budget), well-acted, scary, and thought-provoking.
