Creepy thriller.

I was quite surprised with this debut effort from Shalyman. The actors who were excellently cast in their roles(the mother, the son, and the psychologist) do a more than adequate job with the chilling tale. Shalyman himself does a great job of slowly unveiling the terrifying world inhabited by the dearly departed and the movie really draws you in effectively. The scenes in which the horrors seen by the boy are left up to the imagination create the most memorable shivers. While not an entirely original plot through and through (the scene in which Willis' character hears barely distinguishable voices on an audio tape undoubtedly came from the novel "Legion" by William Peter Blatty)"The Sixth Sense" makes for a good old fashioned scare. My only contention is the "surprise" ending as I thought it was totally telegraphed early on.
